  1. I believe I stated that this was probably based off of the STS in my first post thank you very much. So, let's end it there. It's a STS and that's that. No "I told you so" crap. We'll leave that to the Autoweek forums.
  2. I like that it's unchanged. Empowah, what's with the Pacifica II comment? You know the concept and this look absolutely nothing like that vehicle. If anything, you should compare it to the Lexus RX330. Not that ultra-boring chrysler. Sometimes, I get the feeling you are here to troll. Obviously, you are absolutely not a troll but man, I just don't see what you're seeing sometimes.
  3. Looks interesting. Maybe a bit too busy but still attractive. Almost looks like a hatchback if you pay close attention to the C-pillar. That aspect might appeal to an international audience more then the current vehicle. CTS offering AWD was inevitable since other cars in the same segment offer or will offer the same option. Looking at it again, it really reminds me of the STS rear, though you probably based this off of it. Not sure if that's a positive or a negative. I'd have to see the real thing in person to give you that answer. Good chop NOS!
  4. Wrong. Take a look at the GTO. It took a very short amount of time to get it to the states after Lutz tried it out in Austraila. The vehicle is already going to be produced and since it was made to be sold around the world(read the press releases), the only work that needs to be done for it to come to the US and Canada is exterior only.. minimal exterior work too. The Zeta cars are already under development, this vehicle will probably be the first of the new RWD vehicles to get to the North American market because GM probably doesn't want to wait too long. The Camaro will be here around 09. This could be here in Fall 2007 if GM does decide to bring it here. Not bad if you ask me.

    HOT!

It should get up past 90F today in the downtown area.. and that's right on Lake Erie. I live much further inland so it should be at least 5 degrees hotter here.
  6. Seeing how Lutz was the one who brought the Monaro over, there is no doubt in my mind this vehicle will end up in North America as a Pontiac. Though, since this will be much higher volume in sales then the GTO, GM will probably do things a little differently. I think it will still be built in Australia but will probably be taken apart, shipped, and then re-assembled in the US or Canada to keep the union/loyal customers happy. They're doing it with the Buick Royaum, why not this? Then, they'll probably do a bit more exterior and interior work to make it fit with the rest of the Pontiac lineup instead of just tweaking the grille and adding hoodscoops like they did with the GTO.
  7. She looks like a foot. yes.. I stole that from Family Guy.
  8. You mean like a dead person? This does not look like a hearse!!!! Yes, I agree. I'm sure their PM John Howard will probably order one because it's the best Australia has to offer... even though it may not be the best lux car you can get. Kind of like how bushy boy drives around a Caddy DTS. It's not the best you can get but it's American and that's all that counts.
  9. And the interior. This, well.. I don't have too much to say about this model that I haven't said about the other new Holdens. The interior is a little bit upscale from the other models but could use more color. I guess the Statesman takes care of that, not to mention wood trim. I believe this car is the the sportier version of the Statesman so it would makes sense not to have wood now that I think about it. The LED turning signal on the chrome venti-port is pretty freakin sweet. The Escalade should have that though I guess it would be overkill since the side mirrors have them. The back is very Chevy but the last generation model had the same appearance so the Yanks actually copied the Aussies. I love those Hugh Jazz tires and those rims are just beautiful to look at.
  10. True, but they never sold the two vehicles in the same country at the same time which I am assuming Cadillac will do when they start selling in Aus. next year.
  11. Well Toyota is certainly S&$@ing itself silly in Austrailia. All that hard work on the new Camry and it still can't beat this new range of Holdens. I'm sure Nissan and Ford of Aus aren't liking this either. The SS is by far the most attractive model and would be a great starting point for the next Pontiac GTO, although, it would be nice that they do more the just give it a new grille. The interior is the biggest surprise. Sure, we saw the photos floating around for months now but in it's final form, it looks pretty good and people won't be confusing this with the Calais when they step inside. The body color interior scheme is cool though, I'm pretty sure I'd get tired of the orange fast. Again, Radio/HVAC and gauges are top-notch and is really making me impatient for the North American Zeta cars. Now, what's up with the V-series and the logo? I know Caddy is slowly increasing it's presence down under and will start selling in stand-alone dealerships starting next year and I'm sure the V-series models will show up at some point or another. Wouldn't this create a little bit of confusion among buyers or downplay the importance of the Cadillac V-series vehicles? I'd like to see where they go with this.
  12. The exterior looks like a mixture of Japanese and Korean designs. Though, Korean design can best be described as Japan lite... so I guess it's a mixture of Japanese designs. Specifically Mazda. But if you must include a Korean automaker, then I'd choose Hyundai. Now, it's still attractive but unique design themes are sparse. The side port hole, if that's what you would call it, is a nice touch. It doesn't have that "oh let's tack on this port-hole at the very last minute" look that is present on the new Escalade. I love the huge wheel flares and the vehicle's stance gives the illusion that the car is in motion. The interior is the best part of the whole vehicle. It's something that Holden obviously spent a lot of time developing. It's overall design, like the exterior, borrows the clean and conservative approach seen in the higher end models from Honda and Mazda but switches it up a bit by adding visual cues from Opel, showing that Holden hasn't forgotten it's roots. The VE Calais is Holden's bread and butter model and they want to keep it that way by making it look as inoffensive as humanly possible. Though, it's still attractive and it's still better then any sedan GM offers North America right now other then Cadillac. If this is any indication of where GM wants to take it's Zeta platform, the future is looking pretty bright for Chevy, Buick, and Pontiac.
  13. They're also here: PHOTOS My God those are gorgeous interiors. There is no way GMNA would bring an interior so beautiful here. Sure, the overall look the interiors has been copied by every auto company under the sun but you can tell just by looking at the high-res photos that the materials are top notch and the Radio/HVAC controls and gauges are beautiful... that's why you probably won't see this kind of high quality interior on anything other then a Caddy/Buick/or Saturn unless GM is extremely serious about beating the the Asians and the Germans in the interior department. Could you imagine this on a Chevy or Pontiac? Hell no.. but I'm still hoping.
  14. unfortunately, I don't talk to myself. Also, why would he build the car from the ground up when the new CTS is based off the current one? The proportions are similar to the current model so I think going over it is the right way of doing it.
  15. Chris, just ignore BV's childish remarks. He obviously forgot about your amazing Camaro concept drawing which was far more accurate then the other sketches and chops that were floating around before the actual concept came out not to mention the Cobalt drawing. I, and many people on this site believe this to be very close to what we'll see even if we don't even know what it looks like because we trust you. Of course, I'm sure you already know that and that's why you keep posting. Blackviper: You should show more respect toward Chris and not declare his excellent drawing to be "half-assed" because you don't like the way it looks. Look at his past work and give me an example of his chops being half-assed.
  16. Very nice photos. The bumper redesign makes it look like a V-series though, it's probably only available the sport version so you'll have to pay extra to get exterior changes. The interior looks really good in these higher-res photos and looks great in that khaki/brown color combination in the 4th photo. I also like the hidden glove compartment. I still think they could've used different HVAC controls but the rest of the interior looks amazing so it's not that big of a problem.
  17. This being drawn by Chris, there is a 97% chance that this is what the next CTS will look like plus or minus a few details and that's very good in my opinion. Cadillac is really going to shine with this vehicle. All the haters should hurry up and get their jabs in now on the current CTS because they'll have nothing to say when this one comes out.
  18. You have to be kidding me. This is one of the worst chops I've ever seen.. well.. truth be told, I've seen much worse from Pop. Mechanics, and you think that this is what it will actually look like? Buddy, you need get your eyes examined or something.
  19. Well, technically the Sky was designed by Opel/Vauxhall when you consider it's origin: The VX Lightning concept. He may also be refering to the next Vue which is designed by Opel. The relay doesn't count because it's a S&%*y rebadge that was designed to be a stop-gap model.
  20. That's pretty hot. This beats the Outlooks's interior and it right up there with the Enclave. Very good Job on GM's part. Makes me question my own argument to get rid of GMC.
  21. I work with Real Estate agents all the time and they're good people.. well.. the ones that I work with. I don't understand why so many people hate them considering that they really help people buy/ sell homes and protect them from getting ripped off. Seriously. Yeah.. there are a few bad apples but to clump them altogether in the same group just because you had some bad experiences with them is unfair. They're hard working people and they're doing their job in order to serve you and most of the time, they're not pulling in a lot of money. Try purchasing or selling a house without them. It's much harder then you would think.
  22. I saw it last night. It was alright. It felt like another Bruckheimer film with lots of action and little plot.. just like he likes it. The jokes were kind of funny but at times, I was forcing myself to laugh. I don't know if it was because I was tired from working all day I was dissapointed with it. I give it 3/5 stars.
  23. It's not necessarily McDonalds but Western culture in general. Once other nations embrace the Western or American culture, the cultures become more alike and therefore, have fewer reasons to fight. McDonalds is just one of the many Western things that has been exported with the culture across the globe. I’m sure if McDonalds wasn’t so popular, another large corporation/store chain could fit easily into that theory.
  24. Actually, I would have to disagree with you on that statement. The Odyssey is much more attractive then the Sienna.
  25. Don't worry. The oil companies will do everything in their power to make sure this car doesn't come to market or any Hydrogen vehicles for that matter. In the event that it does, they'll make sure it'll never become popular. Just you wait and see.
