  1. Well, if you want to find out what it looks like just south of where I live, turn on any major cable news channel right now. This whole Ralph "Bucky" Phillips manhunt seems to have reached national attention as they corner him at the NY/PA border about 60 miles south of Buffalo. That area is very rural in some parts while the rest is hilly with dense forests. I live north of the City of Buffalo and that's very suburban. The city itself isn't very big but that doesn't mean the architecture isn't world class. Some of the first "sky scrappers" where built in this city and although they pale in comparison to today's standards, they were something to talk about in the early 1900s and were designed by some of the most famous architects in American history. Buffalo: Skyline City Hall Skyline at night from Lake Erie Skyline with lakefront town houses Frank Lloyd Wright's historic Darwin Martin House A very small section of the very large Delaware Park: Designed by Frederick Von Olmsted - the same guy who designed Central Park in NYC The Guaranty building: Designed by the famous Louis Sullivan And finally: Buffalo is a nice town overall but the skyline hasn't changed much for 30 years. The city has been in decline since the 50s due to state and local government corruption and the huge decline of the American Steel industry and great lakes shipping. The city was the 8th largest in the nation at one point and showed a lot of potential to be great but s%#t happens. It may eventually gain some footing again but right now, things don't look good. Especially when all New York State government cares about is NYC.
  2. Man. This must be a tough time in Australia right now. Two national figures dead in just two weeks.
  3. I'm talking more about the previous Rav4 and CRV. They're pretty small compared to most compact SUVs in the market. Well, thinking about it.. it's probably much closer to a Kia Sportage in size. Even though this is similar to the HHR in length, it's more of an SUV type vehicle while the HHR is just a tall Cobalt hatch.
  4. I'm well aware that it's a race/concept version and that the final version will be much more conservative. I was just saying of what I want from the next Cobalt: very agressive styling similar to this, and what I don't want: a giant spoiler that takes up the entire back-end of the car like this car and the Cobalt SS. GM has been spoiler crazy lately. Love the chop !!!Ted!!! Definately gives us a better look at the possible production model.
  5. Wow. It's a lot smaller then I previously thought. For some reason, I was imagining the Lambdas being slightly larger the Trailblazer/Envoy siblings. I guess I should've looked at the dimensions.
  6. Nothing special. The interior looks pretty good. Which would be rare for Nissan. This wouldn't compete with the HHR. It would compete in the compact SUV class which includes: The Toyota Rav4, Honda CRV, etc.
  7. I hope the next Cobalt shares some styling characteristics with this vehicle with the exception of the huge ricer-boy wing and the giant grille that is way too big for this car. Add a cool interior and a hatch variant and you can sell the next Cobalt globally without anyone laughing hysterically at GM.
  8. So then the CTS CUV must be closer to the Lexus RX330/ Infiniti FX in size. Which means no third row and a much sportier drive. The BRX will then compete with the compact SUVs such as the new Acura RDX, the new Infiniti compact, and the upcoming german SUVs not including the BMW X3 since it's already out. Cadillac is certainly expanding it's range. Not bad.
  9. Yet, I bet you that the gas prices will still stay above the $2 mark just to "play it safe". Big oil will be the death of this country.
  10. Speaking of your car. That's a huge signature photo you have. You might want to crop it down a bit so other people won't have problems viewing the thread.

    ...

I could use without that unusual C-pillar. Looks sloppy the way they designed it for this car. The rest is alright. This certainly won't set the segment on fire.. but people who buy mid-size family sedans don't buy them for style. So this should sell fairly well. That overhang is huge though. Oh.. and it's much better then the Sebring. DCX design lately has been hit and miss.
  12. I think the word you meant to use was sterile. But, I would agree. They could've really hit this one out of the park with styling but it's just not a priority to Toyota and that's a big problem.
  13. Someone should send this to GM's PR department.
  14. Just happens to be the target demographic for this vehicle. Looks like GM has hit that target...and then some.
  15. Man. I'm so glad I only remember back to 1990.
  16. Are we really that surprised. I'm not.
  17. Well, they already have the capability with the G6 convertable. You can lower both windows with the top still up. It looks really cool that way. I'm sure they'll include that function with a coupe variant. They'd be stupid not too.
  18. Honestly, I have no clue why you are leaving. If you're having problems with other members... why not go to the Mods and complain. Or when leaving, just stop posting instead of making this huge deal about it. If I stop posting here because people piss me off *cough*croc*cough* :AH-HA_wink: , I'll leave silently and no one will even notice.
  19. The same thing that happened to other GM concepts that will never be built, they sent it around to lots of autoshows and teased the crowds with it. Well, it may not be built by the end of this decade but who knows. If the demand for it or something like it gets high, GM may produce it in one form or another. Anyway, not all is lost for a Kappa Chevy vehicle. Look for a new sports convertable placed under the Corvette that will probably take a lot of styling cues from this and past corvettes... well, that's what we've heard so far. For all we know, that information could be completely false.
  20. By late 2007, won't the new 2008 VUE be out by then? If that's the case, that would be pretty cool if GM had the Hybrid model came out at the same time as the new generation model.

    OMFG

My eyes! The goggles do nothing!!
  22. It's about damn time. Now, if they could import Opel's diesel engines for GMNA's smaller offerings, then we'd be all set. Too bad it's hard to find diesel pumps in most areas of the country.
  23. One thing I have to note: I find it funny that they don't worry about the details of the car like interior and trunk space and focus more on driving. Something that American mags should take note of. This is a sports car, not a family sedan. They could easily sell the solstice overseas as a Chevy model. GM better hurry the hell up with a RHD model. Not only for the Solstice but for the SKY too. Then Britain could get the Vauxhall GT and Holden would benefit too. This shows that when GM really commits to producing a nice car with great styling, the end product can be extremely competitive.
  24. Wow. She might actually be retarded. I looked on both the Honda and Toyota websites to see what the Camry and Accord offer. They don't offer either of those options with the exception of the Nav screen. Unless I missed something.. which I doubt. Like a lot of so called journalists, she starting to make up new problems for the new GM cars. She even goes so far to try to convince the readers that the car is very bland in comparison to it's competitors. It's funny that she finds the Aura bland in comparison to some of the most boring sedans on the market when clearly, it is a very nice looking car(though, a tad bit on the conservative side) with good proportions. Unlike the Camry and Accord which are awkward in presentation. She thinks the steering wheel is too big? WHAT?! I guarantee you that if the steering wheel were any smaller, she'd complain about that too. What a freakin bitch.
  25. I think people shouldn't jump to conclusions on vehicles that they know nothing about. I'm going to wait for more details and some photos before I start stating that Cadillac will be ruined for entering new segments. Also, the problem with Mercedes isn't the fact that they're producing more cars, it's the fact that all it's vehicles look almost exactly the same and build quality has become atrocious. Now, one could argue that both examples could be a direct result of producing more cars but remember, Mercedes started going down hill years ago. The next BLS will most likely be on Epsilon II which will offer AWD, so you know Cadillac will use that to it's advantage. There's nothing wrong with an AWD car on a platform that's predominately FWD. Look at Audi. It's worked out great for that company.
