Too bad all they did to celebrate 60 years was adding a new trim level. A hard-top 9-3 convertable would've been nice. The technology is already available for use on another Epsilon car and the Opel Astra... why not Saab? It would give even more popularity to the drop-top model in the northern climates, thus expanding their customer base. It worked wonders for the Pontiac, Volvo, and VW. I guess we'll have to wait for the Epsilon II model. It can't come soon enough.
-
Hell no. Not until the price for developing the technology becomes cheap enough to mass produce and not until a suitable infrastructure is set into place to allow these vehicles to refuel. That will take about a decade or so to set in place at the current rate. Empowah is on the money with the plug-in hybrids and it appears that GM has realised it in the process of developing it's Hydrogen fuel cell program. We'll have to wait a little while before we see hydrogen fuel cells become commonplace. The plug-in hybrid tech will provide a boost in GM's environmental image and could give them enough revenue to push the fuel-cell program along even faster.

You never know. sub-compact car based pick-ups are an untapped segment in this country. If gas prices ever shoot up to record levels, GM could import these babies and take the market if they wanted. Of course, they would have to be significantly updated.

Yes. Let us refrain from posting before checking the forum for already existing threads. It makes it easier for all of us.

Clearly a direct response to the Camaro and Challenger concepts. I read this is more then just a normal Giugiaro concept. It actually shows the styling direction of the new Mustang. Obviously we won't see the glass roof, gulwing doors, awesome interior, and funky rear-end, but I wouldn't be surprised if the overall profile and front clip will be the same.

Well, if this is indeed a prototype for the next STS-V, I guess we'll have to wait a few more years for a newer SLS styled interior. Damn. Another guess: could this just be a Euro-spec STS-V testing in the US? Sounds like they could be expanding the V-series line outside of North America.

I'd get an iPod because it's very easy to use. I know, people who own iPods are tools, right? Well, so are people who purposely don't buy iPods because they're afraid people will think they are tools. Who cares about what other people think. Get an MP3/MP4 player with the most to offer. Some people think having bluetooth and an FM tuner is important to them but I find that having millions of songs, hundreds of tv shows, a growing catalogue of movies, and games on iTunes easily within reach trumps those other options. Now, I may only have a Mini, but even though it may be outdated, I'm still very happy with it and can update whenever I want without buying new music. But that's just me. It's all up to your own personal taste.

Dayum! Looks hot in those photos. Makes me even more excited for the Pontiac G8!

Well, the article doesn't say that GM has or is actively pursuing a joint-venture with Nissan or with any other company for that matter. It's just speculation on behalf of the Dow Jones reporter. Also, Ghosn only stated that he would be open to talks if GM were looking for a joint-venture. So until we here anything from GM on this, we'll just have to take Wagoner's word as the truth.
-
Read the last paragraph of the article. I read this earlier today. Dow Jones newswires courtesy of The Buffalo News Could be interesting if true but would they use Nissan's current minivan platform or the Lambda? Probably Nissan's if I would guess.

All I can say about this article is: "Welcome to several months ago" We have known for a while now that the upcoming Saturn Astra would be built out of Opel's Belgium plant and exported next year. I think they're probably done deciding and already making changes.

I give the Chinese automakers 5-10 more years before they seriously try again and they could seriously accomplish their goals by that time. Though, I'm sure they're content in doing business mainly in China, the fastest growing market for automobile sales.

Looks pretty good. Though it may look similar to the Aura interior at first, lining up the two photos really shows that GM did a decent job differentiating them. Sure, they share a lot with eachother, but this is GM. You're not going to see too much of a difference with so many brands. Not surprised with the radio and it looks alright here.

PS3/Wii: Anyone getting one or know someone who is
Cadillacfan replied to Variance's topic in The Lounge
I haven't really been going crazy over the console wars since before I finished high school about four years ago. I guess I'm just not really a gaming fanatic anymore. Just something I grew out of. I still play games on my last gen Xbox but I don't play for more then an hour or so. I go and find something better to do. 360,Wii, and PS3 don't really do anything for me. An emphasis on PS3. Why in the hell would I pay $600 on a gaming system?!?! It may be state-of-the-art now but in five years, there will be a bigger and better system out there that will be twice as expensive making all of the current systems obsolete. If I were to predict the outcome of the wars of the 06 holiday season. I would assume that Nintendo and Microsoft may come out on top. From what I have heard, Sony has a very limited supply. Add that to the high price tag and you'll turn away a lot of people. Also, knowing now that the new system isn't compatible with a lot of the games of the previous systems (one of the main reasons PS2 was so popular) could hurt sales as well. -
Another concept by one of the geniuses who designed the Kappa twins. Though, we have yet to see a vehicle that Mazda has rushed to build yet. Maybe that will change with this.
-
Sorry. I meant GM of North America. You're right though. It does look very much like it belongs under the Opel brand.
-
I really don't know what to say when looking at it. Looks very European. Maybe GM is hoping to make these vans global instead of being limited to the North American and Chinese markets. Upon closer inspection of the van, it appears that this is the GMC version when looking at the grill. I'm sure the Chevy version will have similar styling to the new malibu in the front end. Though, I think I'll wait and see more spy photos of the vans because something about this vehicle makes me think it may not be a GM product.

Buick doesn't need more models. That's what got the brand into trouble in the first place.
-
Dear God that's ugly. Thankfully, it won't look like it. It seems like they mashed together a whole lot of different parts of other Cadillac vehicles and then called it a day. Not a very good chop.

Chrysler is in such a sad state. I'd say that the company is currently in the postion GM was 3-5 years ago before Lutz started making changes. The American DCX brands are plauged with unattractive styling, sub-par interior materials, some of the worst average fuel economy in the biz, and no clear design direction for each brand. It's clear that the 300C, Magnum, and Charger were flukes because the company has yet to produce vehicles as visually appealing since then. GM does still have a lot of issues and Ford is in pretty bad shape too but they're not as bad as Chrysler.

Youngest of five. Oldest (sister) is 35. The other siblings are either in their early thirties or late twenties. My parents took a six year break before having me. Overall, I have three sisters and a brother.

BEAUTIFUL! The interior is just perfect. I do think this will be on the North American STS since it shares a lot of the dash design with the new CTS especially with the shape and the placement of the HVAC vents. Though, I'm expecting our refreshed STS won't be as nice due to the fact that it will be built in the US and it's so much more expensive to make this car here then in China due to the legacy costs. I'm just sayin.

Neither does rebadging an Equinox, a cobalt, an aveo(in canada and mexico), and a Toyota Matrix. Face it, whether you like it or not, Holden knows how to make sports cars and those cars that the Aussie division produces is in line with the cars Pontiac used to have and should have. Los Angeles is right.

Definately a fake. That guy at the end ruined it with his bad acting. The Enclave looks great. No surprise there. Lacrosse Super looks the same. Makes sense though. It's being replaced in a couple years. Why the hell would they spend money on extensive cosmetic changes? Portholes and new rims are enough. Can't wait for the Epsilon II Lacrosse.
