Happy New Year everyone.
-
The back end looks odd but I wouldn't call it ugly. The rest of the car looks pretty good. This is so much better then the DCX twins and the Fusion/Milan.
-
Unless the SLS is based off an entirely different platform then the one that the STS, CTS, and SRX ride on, that statement is false. Though, I agree that Cadillac should look into developing one or two new brand exclusive platforms in order for the company to take on a life of it's own and to prevent any future badge engineering. It might be a little risky but if GM played its cards right, two new platforms could be the basis for more the one vehicle each.

Lincoln MKR Concept

Hmm.. Seems like they're trying too hard to be edgy and bold but in the end, it makes it look awkward. I guess I'll have to see more photos in order to judge properly. At least Ford is really trying now. -
Most of us have seen the interior. The images are still floating around the internet. HA! We've got one on you!

I'm not too surprised when looking back at recent Chrysler concepts that were rumored to go into production. The ME Four twelve, the compact triplets for Dodge, and now this. All were good ideas but weren't taken very seriously by the execs. Granted, this concept came out at the height of the 300s popularity and it looked like DCX was on a real upswing. Now, they feel they need to build more homely looking vehicles like the Sebring, Jeep Compass, Dodge Nitro, Dodge Caliber, and Dodge Avenger instead of these vehicles. The company is in very bad shape. Think GM during the time period between 1996-2003...that's how bad they are right now.

I think you meant the left side is younger then the right. If you need help figuring out your left from your right. Hold up both hands and point your index fingers up and point your thumbs in toward eachother. The hand that forms the letter L is your left. The other is your right.

That's it??!! That's all they're showing. SONOFABITCH! Lutz is such a tease. Still, the car is going to look good but they could've at least shown us a little more!
-
This is lame! I think we were all hoping that the embargo would be broken exactly at 12am today but I think that we won't know until later tonight. I'm so glad I went to sleep early last night.
-
You have to remember, the Lacrosse, although it came after Lutz arrived, is definately old-school GM through and through. The W-body, at the time was still GMs most reliable mid-size FWD sedan and it was more cost effective to use the existing Regal platform and build it in the same factory instead of retooling the Epsilon and building it somewhere else. Hell, the Chinese Lacrosse is based on the W-body too and it's doing quite well. The next Lacrosse will be Epsilon II while all the other W-body vehicles are being phased out or are moving to different platforms so say goodbye soon.

Not surprised. Technically, you can call the Zune a rip-off of the iPod. It's called capitalism. For those still worried, Windows is "borrowing" features from a system that's due for an overhaul pretty soon anyway, so I don't think Apple execs are shaking in their boots.
-
Damn! Now I can't go to sleep until 12. Screw it. I'll go to sleep and wake up to find my early christmas present. See everyone tomorrow after the official rebirth of the CTS.
-
Why bother with someone like that? She's probably a bitch because she hasn't gotten laid in a while.
-
Looking at the whole car, I'd say it looks much more refined then I thought it was going to be. Looks very slick and will definately stick out in a good way against the competition. This vehicle looks more expensive then it actually is. The Ford Fusion isn't looking too hot right now.
-
Eh... I can't say I'm a big fan. It looks too much like the Impala that it might confuse or deter buyers who didn't like that sedan. Is this the best looking mid-sized entry level sedan from GMNA? I don't know, from what I can see, it's going to be a toss-up between this and the Aura.

THANK YOU!!! There are certain members (we all know who they are) that are the biggest offenders of this and ignore all requests to stop which makes me think they're doing it just to be post whores. It needs to stop now. -
Normally, I would take offense to that, but you're absolutely right! So many dumb Canadians live here. I mean, WHAT THE HELL MAN?!?! Buffalo is in an economic depression and they keep coming. I think it's all that fresh air.

Welcome to the boards. You're going to find it to be very interesting in the next couple of months with all the new vehicle introductions.
-
But the company's main operations/country of origin is not based out of America. That's what I'm getting at.

I'm going to answer all of your remarks in order as best as I can: I should've put quotations around Gas-guzzling. As of recent, V-8s have been getting bad press even though a lot of the time it is completely uncalled for. I'm just stating what we know the greenies will say. Also, by too little too late, will people accept a V-8 with the supposed shift in the auto industry towards fuel efficient V-6, I-4 engines? I've been reading so much about this trend in Motortrend and CarandDriver that it must be true. Right? (SARCASM) Take a look at the recent Silverado test for an example in Motortrend. Also, You can't guarantee success from a new tech like a V-8 and now that the ice caps are melting as a direct result of v-8 engines (MORE SARCASM), is it bad timing to come out with a V-8? I'm just putting these questions out there to have people think. You never know about the V-8. It may be Acura now, but in a few years the Pilot or the Ridgeline may get it. I wouldn't count them out as candidates just because they're not Acuras.
-
Though I agree with Polish_Kris' about the "bandwagon" comment being a little unfair, I would say that in general, companies that present themselves as "green" or "fuel-efficient" better be prepared for some serious flack when they ad a big gas-guzzling V8 to their lineup. Getting that out of the way, Honda finally has a V8 engine but is it too little too late? Honda is the last of the big three Japanese companies to come out with a V8 and the other guys are moving ahead at a fast rate at improving their offerings to match the domestics. It will be interesting to see what they're going to put this in other then the Acuras.
-
Where have you been? They've already been doing that and it's not even out yet!
-
I agree. That and all the cars mentioned above and add a pinch of Subaru WRX and you get the new Lancer. Looks decent but nothing extraordinary. When considering the current Lancer, this clearly is a better car. Though, will that be enough to steal sales from it's competitors? Probably not too many.

What I find amazing is that DCX has stated repeatedly that it intends to make Dodge a legitamate player in the Europe market and yet after seeing the Caliber and this, I'm really starting to wonder how building ugly and extremely uncompetitive (to Euro standards anyway) vehicles will help them accomplish that lofty goal. I think the rumors of the Chrysler/Daimler split are looking more realistic when you look at the future lineup of both Dodge and Chrysler.
