  1. a 3.2L and a two speed DOES.
  2. at least it doesnt have the cameltoe grille the GP GXP does.
  3. anyone notice that the first cop car kinda looks like an aura?
  4. cool, thank them for me.
  5. iirc, pushing and holding the mute button for one or two seconds will either activate an onstar call or handsfree calling. im one of those guys who reads the manual cover to cover... then forgets half of it.
  6. keep in mind that swapping would probably entail more than changing the actual capsules. the aftermarket HID kits ive seen have all had wiring harnesses, etc. i suggest going to the dealer for info. have a tech look in SI and print up the system description and operation and component view pages. might as well get the headlamp dis/reassembly instructions for the aura, too. they should be able to access opel info. the copy of SI i have (only up to 03MY) does have info on the opel sintra. i have no idea why. but if they were sharing that info with domestic dealers back then, maybe they still do. when i first saw that, i immediately thought it looked like I.N.T.E.L.L.I.G.E.N.C.E. from Team America. but, i see strange things in design sometimes. there is a toyota or lexus center stack that, to me, looks like Me-Ted from meatballs. maybe i need meds. roger, you are in luck. it rained today and i got a chance to feel out the tires a little bit. much better than the RSAs.
  7. a ready for sale aura redline coupe with, better brakes, the vectra HID headlamps, vectra OPC front fascia and an engine/tranny combo that has more balls and isnt so thirsty. like maybe, the SIDI 3.6 and a 5 or 6 speed manual. id settle for a sedan, tho.
  8. ive owned 3 cars with RSAs. wet weather performance was horrible, sometimes scary. BFG traction T/As fixed the problems, improved every other aspect and were a cheaper all season tire. the Eagle LSs (i think) on the XR seem to do great on dry pavement. but, im comparing 16s (RSAs) to 18s (LSs). its hard to judge since my old GP and new aura are different cars, but i think the BFGs in 16in form were comparable to these 18in goodyears. i dunno. im just leery of these tires because i remember the RSAs. oh yeah, consider me envious of your blue aura (when its clean).
  9. odds are, a redline. athough, i will be having some discussions with hahn racecraft before making that final decision.
  10. i dont think twat or vagina are profane words. in fact, the writing style is the only enjoyable aspect to me. if its "unprofessional", so be it. im not too impressed by most of what is written by "professional" auto analcysts, anyway. btw, i think TTAC suxxorzzz!!
  11. let me know what you find out about the HIDs, please! btw, you have to do something pretty stupid to get the ESC to intervene on dry pavement. i havent had a chance to push it on wet roads and having goodyears on the car doesnt encourage me.
  12. well, tell me what you are going to do with the badge. if its not something way cool that i'd want to do, maybe i will ship it. i was just gonna replace the "GTP" on my toolbox with it. in a little over a year i should be able to get my sky. thats gonna be my new toy, which is why i need to keep my hands off the aura! thanks. im fine with the placement of the badge, it just looks too big to me for some reason. something that big and red on the back of a car should light up.
  13. in 59 more payments, YES! unless, they build a coupe or redline aura. then, i'll have to start all over. yeah, its like a TL that got rolled once and put back together by a team of very talented repair dudes. too bad they wouldnt put in an SC3.8 for me, tho. just the regular roof. since my last 3 cars were all silver, i was only interested in the gray or the blue. i liked the blue better, but since i dont have covered parking, i went with the gray since it wont need to be cleaned as frequently. im going to get some wheels for it and take that giant saturn badge of the decklid. other than that and maybe x-pel, im going to try and leave it alone. although, i think the TC2.8L in the 9-5 is the same engine. i cant help but wonder...
  14. danke danke danke!
  15. maybe she got confused because they look so similiar.
  16. she doesnt like to be photographed in direct sunlight as seen in pics 1 and 3. shoulda seen pic 3 before i turned down the yellow hues... which i turned down too far, dammit. EDIT: SUNUVABITCH! i just noticed my buddy left the pass side headrest up.
  17. how about a vid of it running the tail of the dragon? myershift: about the door panel, mine does it, too. i think its the black door pull that shifts a bit in the panel. not really sure, though, i had forgotten about it until reading yor post. i guess i get used to things pretty easily.
  18. sorry for the shakycam, it was c-c-cold out there. the color doesnt come through, either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfstZ1MabTM
  19. uh, hard but kinda squishy, much like cyst-like growths on my elbows. i only mention the grossness because i spent 13hrs driving the car to NC last week. if the armrests didnt bother my elbows, they'd probably be ok for you, too.
  20. easy, production quotas. the recent revelations of the top management in detroit hasnt filtered down the pipeline. or, upper management hasnt enabled production level management to properly deal with these issues. you dont stop or slow production simply because some parts dont fit just right. you build them anyway and fix them later. unless, you are over budget on your overtime spending. then, you ship em.
  21. one LED for each front door handle, but not the rears, and two in the overhead switch panel. i took some pics, too, that might help. fingering the door handle hand halfway tween LEDs and center console. note awesomely gruesome thumb. hand at center console expressing feelings towards most automotive analcysts and other journalistic tits and twits who dont seem to have an ounce of common sense or... i also took a short clip (1.3mb .mov) of the start-up needle sweep if youre interested.
  22. i did. and, i bought one. while you are correct in much of your analysis, guess what? i buy cars to drive not to measure the interior with a micrometer. i bet most buyers have similiar feelings. if consumers never considered overall value, the japanese and koreans would not have gotten their footholds in the market. ive sat in and driven lots of cars. there wasnt a single one that i would consider anywhere near perfect in design, performance or execution. but, quite a few of them would make me a happy owner. is the interior world class? no. is the powertrain world class? no. is it, all around, a damn good car for the money in an attractive (to me) package? yeah. edit: just read my reply. dont take it as hostile in any way.
  23. double post.
  24. the XR is more than competent when compared to the last camcords i drove. an audi/VW friend of mine was impressed enough that he is thinking about getting one when his lease is up. ive never driven a 350/g35, but if they are comparable to the GTO, in terms of handling, it might prove hard to shake me in my XR on roads where brute power doesnt come into play. however, the XR isnt without its faults. it has more oversteer than my last car (GP) when the rear suspension is severely unloaded. nothing to sht your pants about, tho. stabilitrak is neat. roll is slight and progressive, but everything else feels so good that i wish it had thicker swaybars. hmm, assuming it has them.
  25. as long as it has a "ludicrous speed" button, i'll be happy.
