  1. i'd guess the next gen Malibu inherits the Maxx extended wheelbase and grows a bit in size to get closer to the FWD Impala, and then the Impala goes RWD in '09 that gives Chevy a pretty well rounded line-up
  2. the show is on for a week. i'd figure out a way to go if i were you. i've been the past 3 years. highly recommended!
  3. wasn't this a modification of an Oldsmobile concept the O4 or something?????
  4. saw one on a dealer lot in Newmarket, ON
  5. BV, i believe his comments were direct at C&G. i think what he was saying is " if you think you are pissed off now BV, then just wait a little longer." Cheers and Gears continues to set new lows. it is becoming the kindergarden playground of the web, with people acting like a bunch of children whining, complaining and bickering. total emotion and limited thought. comments based on whimsy and gut reaction and not on objective perspective. and generally, it does get quite tiresome. i've noticed it myself for a while now.
  6. completey different franchise licences I believe prevented any sort of merge with saturn. it also limits GM's ability to shut down Saturn, ala Olds.
  7. add in Hogans Heros and evok and it would be an educational evening.
  8. what formula? are u referring to Cadillac specifically or GM in general? cause I'm not sure what 'great GM formula' you're referring to.
  9. i think it's not as bad-ass as it was, but it's more 'classy' if that's the right word, with a touch of attitude. i think the interior will look fantastic in person.
  10. s600? sl65? range rover SC? and you're hanging out on this site why??????
  11. don't hold your breath for a CTS coupe. i don't think it's in the works.
  12. that's the retarded part.
  13. You know what, that is just childish. These Ridgline owners came over here with good intensions to share their experiences and reasons for making the purchase they did. Personally I have learned a lot from their responses, particulary from their replies to my post on their site. I think it is time for some people or children around here just to grow up. You might learn a lot if you try to educate yourselves instead of hiding behind a wall of ignorance. If the factors described in the source story are accurate (mildly unimproved road, slow speed, avoiding chuckholes, etc) yet the ridgeline still broke all 4 struts & bent the frame, the engineering of the parts is the only logical culpruit. If that's not worthy of an indirect joke (about a honda mechanic as opposed to calling the vehicle a POS or knocking the owners- which is likewise legitimate, IMO), then nothing in the auto industry is worthy of joking about. Or did I callously gloss over the part of the story where someone was killed or maimed? [post="40201"][/post] re-read what you just said. the ridgeline was driving down the road minding it's own business and all of a sudden the frame bent and ALL 4 struts broke? ummm, I'm thinking...... NO.
  14. specifically what American made crap are u talking about? most of the crap gets made elsewhere and shipped back to the united states. go check you tv, vcr, cell phone, toaster etc and let me know how much of it is made in the good ole USA.
  15. the difference between rational thought and emotional outburst.
  16. no, it's not about me. my point was that Honda can decide to alter production to meet demand whereas GM (because of union contracts) just keeps on building. and perhaps your comments should have read 'the americans, in their ivory towers got caught off guard when the first oil crisis came that during the switch to smaller FWD cars started building shitboxes that pissed off the american consumer so that when the japanese came to market with high quality products they sold like hotcakes. btw, last time i checked, toyota and honda were making MORE investment in north american plants.
  17. right. a much better idea is to have the UAW build them so that even when demand is low they still HAVE to pump out the vehicles, thus flooding the market with oversupply, thus forcing the company to offer huge discounts to move the product, which has a direct affect on the bottom line.
  18. everyone is bashing the Ridgeline because next to arguing about which GM brand is the best and insisting that every brand needs a version of every platform, the next most popular sport is Toyota/Honda bashing. sometimes the debates are an amusing read, but most of the time the ignorance portrayed and the emotional overreaction at the expense of facts is ..... well,..... undewhelming.
  19. one month of sales is irrelevant. gm's employee incentive prob pulled ahead a lot of sales. do you have the avalanche full year sales chart for a more realistic comparison between the two?
  20. what? GM thinking about doing something different then deciding not too? we've never heard of that before. once again, someone else beats GM to the punch. and let's not forget, the Ridgeline is not meant to go after all those die-hard truck fanatics, but it is another vehicle configuration off the Odyssey, MDX, Pilot platform. so 3 vehicles, 1 platform. nice move Honda. one last thought. just imagine if Honda hadn't hired the Aztek styling crew to hit it with the ugly stick.
  21. baggage? what baggage?
  22. the rest... you mean the door handles and side view mirror?
  23. sounded like another shoe hit the floor. unfortunately, we are dealing with an octopus so we're not done yet.
  24. well, if u didn't take the viagra you wouldn't have needed to worry about a newborn
