  1. think you need to practice up on the math. 5 year run? don't think so. try closer to 6. The CTS was on dealer lots Jan 2002, as a 2003 model (the earliest you can sell a 2003 model). jan 2002-debuts(prob SOP was Oct or Nov 2001???) NG CTS SOP is summer 2007(unless that has changed recently) However, thankfully there constant changes to the car during that 5.5 - 6 yrs to keep it in the car mags and 'freshened'.
  2. was that a personal attack? better weird than American!!
  3. with Torrent AND Vibe to choose from, what's the compelling reason for G6 hatch given that americans aren't big hatch fans.
  4. Impala Pontiac GP replacement Buick Sedan - Lucerne replacement Buick coupe/convert
  5. when was the last time GM had a program that DIDN'T have costs that ran out of control?

Well, if the weekend retreat includes driving some of those 'unreliable' V-Series Cadillacs - then I'm IN!!!!

Do they have a Charitable Organization number? I'd like to make a donation. Maybe even go on a couple of weekend retreats.
  8. check ebay. i've seen a few
  9. that was my point. if they're sticking in the V8 one would think it will be around for a while. (instead of being replaced sooner.) although they stuck the NS in the Bonny GXP for 1 year (or was it two). and I also decided not to comment on the Buick vs Lexus debate where GM sticks a, don't say it, pushrod V8 into the car instead of OHC.
  10. i was thinking Firebird
  11. different in what way?
  12. so, could you explain just exactly how 'accountability' would solve GM's problems? cause that's a pretty vague concept.
  13. quite frankly i don't get this V8 Super idea. the GP GXP had the V8 first, then the Impala. by the time the Allure/LaCrosse gets it, the silly thing is due for replacement not long after on Ep2(or at least that was the last plan I heard). i mean really, how many Supers do they think they'll sell to make it worthwhile to stuff the V8 in there.

the question of GM management ability is not really the point of this thread. we can argue all day long about $11B in losses and whether it was Rick's fault, Bob's fault etc. The point IS that someone *cough cough-BM* posted an article to support his assertion that Rick Wagoner needs to go. Before we can argue whether Rick needs to go or not, we must first determine the accuracy of the article. Some fairly credible people, IMO, have clearly demonstrated that the article is bunk. does that forgive $11B in losses? No. but the fact is this specific article is bunk.

it's been a while, but I seem to remember having to footnote all my facts and figures when I wrote an essay. i guess when you're a prof. that doesn't apply and you can spew off what ever you want without any supporting evidence.
  16. i thought the word was just a new Velite grille and little else???
  17. i believe that AWD is going to be an option on NG CTS.
  18. Is that because GM 'shelved' the Outlook? Before the ISP blows up again and we lose all posts and have to start from scratch again, can someone please back this up so we can finally have some proof of the great wisdom of some of the unsung and unrecognized gurus of the industry that are here amongst our midst.
  19. done

    Good-bye

good-bye and good luck!!! :AH-HA_wink: this site has lost something that is not replaceable.
  21. at the risk of another warning, it sure is nice to read a thread based on some semblance of fact instead of wild speculation (or was that comment too sarcastic without enough constructive value?)
  22. let me translate it............HUGE!
  23. so I'm confused. When will the Campala SS be on the road, do I have to go to Melbourne to buy one and will it be offered in Corn Yellow?
  24. no he's right. they just have to make a few minor mods to the concept before it makes it into production in Oshawa. adding 2 rear doors, turning the engine sideways and adding a leaping antelope logo. instant Campala? or maybe Impalaro? or maybe just Impalacamaro.
  25. well, Bob DOES work for GM, at least he got that right.
