  1. ever heard of PM?
  2. your drivel is almost on the same plane as buickman. and easily as tiring.
  3. gee that was fun. i'm going to turn sigs off now. maybe you can go with 2, but drop them in chronological order. that way, they'll always be fresh.
  4. let me go turn the sigs feature back on, then I'll come back and read them.
  5. i tend to agree with much of this. the ads are give an aura or sense of luxury.
  6. Buick would fall in love with Lexus, but Nissan would want to sleep with Buick and when Buick refuses would get a bullet between the headlights.
  7. you want my advice. start all of your post with "IN MY OPINION" because you don't speak fact. most of your comments are pure speculation, although probably based on some real information. your earlier posts go something like 'apparent fact', 'name most likely won't be LaCrosse...', 'when or IF a replacement', 'I can take a wild guess' , 'Buick IS getting a convertible, but "we don't know when, what platform or a name". your comments are filled with these things. there are very few people on this board who really know what is going on. there are others who have tidbits of partial information. there are a whole bunch of people who THINK they know what is going on, likley because they've been informed some things by the small group of people who DO know thru previous posts or PM. the big problem is the TIDBITTERS and the THINK THEY KNOWers post like they are one of the select few who actually have a clue and that just confuses the masses and gets them all worked up.
  8. Bingo! Financials aside, a lot, not all, of GM problems can be solved with product.
  9. so you are admitting that you sound like a 'crazy drunk woman'. that is the first step, realizing you have a problem.

  11. can't remember my alphabet soup. what cars were 'N'?
  12. subjective opinion. and IMO, it will sell well.
  13. ah. so they shelved the $3B investment for a few years. (that $3B investment quote was a while back, as in years ago.) face it. there is no $3B investment in Buick. they might be spending $3B on product development, but it is clearly spread across the GM empire, unlike the $$$ Cadillac got. or maybe that $$$ was spent on China!
  14. Hyundai just keeps on growing. keep an eye on these guys GM.
  15. here's some friendly advice. you want to know what's going on in the industry and who knows facts and who knows $h!, then just stick around here for a while and read the threads in their entirety (stay out of the Lounge) . you'll eventually figure out that there a couple of people who know what's going on, there are several more that know bits and pieces and the rest just make stuff up, repeat old rumours or convince themselves that the misinformation they post is truth. the problem is everyone types like what they are saying is FACT. after a while you'll figure out who is credible and who isn't. speaking of which I'm wondering if GM made a mistake in the Camaro press release because one of our 'fabled insiders' said SOP (start of production) was '07. Or maybe they just decided to shelf the program for a few months.
  16. Cadillac 'received' $4B and got a lot to show for it (sigma - CTS, STS, SRX, a new plant to build them in, XLR, V-Series, new Escalade and Led Zeppelin) Buick 'received' $3B and got (an old car with a new interior, new sheetmetal and new name and it will be the the third variant to offer up a V8 in it, another old car with a new interior, new sheetmetal and a new name also with a V8 offering -this time DOHC, an old truck with new sheetmetal(barely) new interior and a new name, with a V8 option, an old minivan with no new sheetmetal a bit of fake wood on the interior and a new name, no new factory and countless ad campaigns). oh, and they spent the other $2.5B on keeping Tiger Woods.
  17. does anyone really grasp how large that number is? $20B??? that number is staggering.

    2006 BMW X5

nope. BMW invented HUD and it is a revolutinary invention. it borrows from fighter jet technology and allows the driver to simply refocus his eyes without taking them off the road - it is estimated that this could save countless lives each year in the USA. BMW is to be commended for leading the automotive industry with breakthrough technology and bringing it to everyday people, something no other automotive manufacturer has ever done. ever. BMW - A Company of Ideas!!!
  19. his point, which is valid, got lost in the rant.
  20. first of all, i read that letter and while i think you've over-reacted a bit, I'm not sure why it was printed as it was a pretty heavy slam on the Impala, (unjustified and unlikely in my opinion.) - (by the way, i believe that Kenzie gave the Impala a pretty nice review. 'best family car value on the road' if i recall correctly) secondly, you're also exaggerating that Grand Prix vs Maxima story as well. kenzie didn't bash the car, he said that while he was driving the GP (with richardson riding shotgun) and he hit the brakes for a missed turn the car went all squirley on him. that piece of info made it to lutz and, so the story goes, lutz ran into kenzie and told him to bring a car of his choice to the lutzring for a head to head with the GP. kenzie chose the Maxima and drove it to detroit from TO. they did some laps and other stuff, but in a braking test where the drivers were to yank the sterring wheel to one side while stopping on gravel (or somehting like that) the GP was controllable while the maxima was totally out of control. (something to do with ABS blah blah). kenzie went on the praise the GP, but suggested that it was going to be hard for GM to get import buyers, specifically maxima buyers to consider the GP. it was not a 'retraction'. so let's not dramatize this. by the way, kenzie is freelance as far as i know and sells articles to the star and doesn't give a $h! about ad. dollars. and by the way, kenzie never retracted what he/richardson experienced on that initial road test . sidenote- lutz was the better driver that day (at 70someting) and kenzie is no slouch behind the wheel having won the Targa Nfld (i believe). lutz arrived in his helicopter and later that day was going to go for a ride in his hyabusa(or however that rocket on wheels is spelled)
  21. define 'a hit'? how many Camcord buyers, after years of loyal service to those brands, are going to wander back to a chevy dealership to look at the Malibu?
  22. anyone have any thoughts on what is good and what is bad? one time dealer goo or aftermarket annual spray?
  23. i'm going to have to agree with Josh on this one. comparing said images, it appears that they are far too similar to be merely coincidence! so, passing the chop off as based on spy shots, 60 Minutes and "his own imagination" is a bit of a stretch. well not really a stretch. i'd called it more like blatantly misleading. to fly, why not just call it out and set the record straight, (cause, unless GM was all hoity toity over a NOS picture the first time around) this thing is about as far from NOS imagination as BM is from reality.
