Wow! The first vehicle I've seen so far with changes for the better! Great array of new colors, especially Crimson Red and Purple Haze! Now, why aren't those two on the Solstice yet? Ditch the Navy Blue and Emerald Green (who would want a dull boring family car/truck color on a sports roadster?) and bring these and Blue Streak on! I think the Lifestyle Package had something to do with the folding front passenger's seat and a few convenience features that were optional on Base Grand Prix's, standard elsewhere-not positive though.

2007 Chevrolet Aveo Information/Changes
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to Northstar's topic in Chevrolet
Thanks for all the noted changes so far Northstar! I just checked out the ugly-in-pictures but not so much-in-person Honda Fit at the (rude) dealer yesterday, and let me say this: the Aveo has some very, very stiff competition-Aveo5 sounds cool-but can't they come up with something more unique? I mean, there's already Kia's Rio5 and Spectra5, if not more I can't think of right now... -
Dumb! Dumb! Dumb! What were they thinking? Why did Buick keep the weak, dated 3500 V-6 and ditch the 3.6-liter HF V-6? The Cashmere Gold (which I still can't seem to mix when coloring the cars/trucks I draw) is a loss too-that Gold Mist pales in comparison, but the other colors look nice.
-
That stinks-they deleted some of Impala's best colors-Glacier Blue, Sport Red, and Superior Blue-now we have Maroon (Bordeaux Red), Precision Red, and some Blue I haven't heard of (listed last year only in the Impala Polic section of the GM Fleet Guide-can't wait to see 2007's!). Oh well, Superior Blue was more dull than I thought anyway...should be interesting....
-
Good riddance to Silver Green-interesting, but never seemed to belong there anyway-more of a Bronze really if its the color I'm thinking of. Still the wrong V-6 engine with not enough horsepower, however.

Anyone have a subscription to Just-Auto?
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to Hudson's topic in The Lounge
The Dodge Sequoia was supposed to be a Neon/PT Cruiser-based compact crossover SUV, with a computer drawing in a 1998 issue of Automobile Magazine-other Neon variants, such as an Expresso-looking microvan (the 1994 concept that is, not the Plymouth model-option package), but of course, we never saw anything beyond Neon and PT Cruiser. And the Acura MAV of course evolved into the 2001 MDX. -
The New Infiniti G35
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to titan's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
The new G35 looks a little old-school Maserati Quattroporte-like-I think I like the old one better-but this is also my first time seeing this car-I prefer the new model's rear end though, as well as the Chevy Monte Carlo and Toyota Solara...on the other hand, I think the Mitsubishi Eclipse is ugly and not much better in person. -
I thought when you said Tahoe sales died at your dealership you meant the new ones....I'll have to check one out up close, but I haven't been crazy about what I've seen so far.

Berry Red=Sport Red Metallic, Midnight Blue=Dark (Navy) Blue Metallic, and could Ocean Mist be the same as Coastal Grey, which in turn is Stealth Grey/Blue Granite Metallic?
-
BTW, nice Buick Astravectra chop Toni! That might make a nice Skyhawk! (Not my ideal, but it would work!)
-
Too bad-isn't there a way to plant the exterior we were shown onto an otherwise Euro-cloned car? That prototype had a nice exterior, average/nothing-special/typical GM interior. I like the Astra, but its interior looks terrible in the models that actually sell (haven't seen cloth and vinyl like that since the early 1980's-really pitiful) but its design, while pleasant, is nothing special or daring when compared to a multitude of European rivals-it doesn't have to be Renault Megane-daring, but something beyond typical GM, but not tall and hideously ugly like the 2007 Corsa B-segment (subcompact/lower compact) car either.
-
Wonder why...probably because the design is so ridiculously bland with a class-lagging interior and less room than rival Dodge Durango? Just like the Chevrolet Colorado, the theme/design is dated before it even went on sale. 2013 can't come soon enough for these trucks, but maybe I'm wrong....and need a second look, and to find out from my friend who works at the local Chevy dealer to see how they're doing.

Thanks for posting! All of the 2007 Saturn's, except for Outlook, is now posted as well. ION and VUE lose their short-lived Laser Blue Metallic (21U) colors in lieu of a 37U Deep Blue-I wonder if this highly-raved about color will die on the 2007 Chevy's.
-
Who does the equipment specification? More importantly, why haven't they been fired? Why is ABS still optional and a V-6 no longer available on base models? Guess what made up the vast majority of sales? No, it wasn't the Base 4-cylinder, not around here anyway! Get rid of low-level models, this is Pontiac, not Chevrolet, but if they keep it up, there will be a fastback Malibu and not a G6 because there will be no Pontiac. And Blue-Gold Crystal sounds interesting, but isn't it supposed to be Blue-Green Crystal (aka Bermuda Blue Metallic 26U)? Ditch the Gih Value engines-they're nonsense-make it 2.8, 3.2, and 3.6-liter DOHC HF V-6's-that's it-the 2.8 would be a nice compromise stepup between Malibu and Aura (do three cars really need a 4-cylinder? Come on. Makes no sense!), and it would give it bragging rights against its Mazda 6 rival.

Auto analyst slams GM to VA dealers
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to wildcat's topic in General Motors
So really is there anything to gain if that would be true? The LaCrosse is inefficient enough as it is-its overall length is 4" too long at least, but everything else needs a slight bump up, IMO. While the Aura's got nice interior specifications, they're nothing to write home about, especially given a wheelbase that's .the same size as a 2000-05 Buick LeSabre, but at least its not a waste like the G6. The next LaCrosse has to be far more luxurious than the Aura, and certainly the current model. -
Auto analyst slams GM to VA dealers
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to wildcat's topic in General Motors
Have you seen Camry and ES? They're NOT rebadges! They're similar but they have entirely different exteriors. Apart from the Zeta's, Pontiac really doesn't have much to look forward to, but I think Buick is safe-for now. -
All GM Small SUVs Now Carry 5-Star/5-Star Crash Ra
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to a topic in Chevrolet
All small SUV's? There's only one real one! Equinox/Torrent are mid-size SUV's, and the HHR isn't even a real SUV! -
In this case that's actually a good thing-as far as the wide rocker panel molding and 6-spoke 17" wheels (not the same as Relay) go as I said in another post. Glad to see it here, and I think it looks better against Ford Freestyle and Cheysler Pacifica rivals (and certainly Honda Pilot too).

2007 PREVUE CONCEPT
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to VenSeattle's topic in New York International Auto Show (NYIAS)
I'm warming up to Caliber, but if its last or near last-place in the comparison test, how've the reviews been good? (I haven't read the whole thing, so I guess I'll have to if I get the chance.) -
Compare: Buick Enclave Concept & Saturn Outlook
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to VenSeattle's topic in Buick
I actually like the Outlook better-it has one of the two good parts of the Relay-in this case, the Volvo XC90-inspired black wide rocker panel moldings, and the only other good part of the Relay being the 6-spoke 17" aluminum wheels (I know they're not the same, but the same basics). Outlook looks very GMCish to me-not a bad thing, but where does this leave the GMC Acadia? Is there even a point unless it were sent to Chevy? -
March 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
Mule Bakersdozen LS replied to Variance's topic in 2006 Sales Archive
Those are not good results-not surprising and probably deserved overall too, thanks to bland, aging, stale product that looks that way for the nearest future, if the latest spy shots say anything about it at all. -
WHY? Sure the Malibu and G6 suck, but why does GM need a third 4-cylinder mid-size sedan (other than a Green Line version)? That may be OHV and probably could have the 3.2-liter HF V-6 instead, but the 3500 V-6, at 224hp if I remember correctly is better than a Passat at a similar price, which only gets you a 4-cylinder. And as for Aura XE, ditch the wheel covers! You're not a Malibu or G6 so don't try to cover their incompetent places either!

I like this one, just like the Altima-still a bit daring.
