  1. While its not my ideal car,.its the best styled Caddy since the CTS, and they did a good job of disguising the mediocre, bland Saab 9-3 as a Caddy, even though it still looks a bit like the 9-3 on which its based.
  2. I've never had an experience as bad as that one-only ones at the local Honda (Dick Ide, Penfield) dealer come to mind, but that isn't right-sorry you had to go through that Grandprixman.
  3. www.gmfleet.com Go to '2007 GM Car and Truck Order Guide' (I can't paste the direct link on this computer, but it should be easily accessible).
  4. Ah...the beauty of going back and reading the original posts.....Northstar-that's a great idea! I've thought about that for a little while too-that groundbreaking Mercedes-Benz CLS is the only fully captivating M-B I've ever seen (they're breaking out in style, but not that much). CLS is not meant to boost sales, volumes, etc. Its meant to boost style and show that M-B is capable of more than bland, evolutionary cars. I think converting STS into a CLS-type competitor, whether or not called STS, would be a great idea! Offer it with a V-8 only, leave V-6's to CTS and below.
  5. Looks nice, but when you've seen an almost production-ready show car, what's the point of the spy shots? (They're superb shots, but I've always been curious).
  6. Vibe's glory days ended when Pontiac just HAD to add 3 grey colors and facelift it with a blander grille for 2005. Move it to Chevrolet, and base it on Delta or 2011 Cobalt platform or whatever.
  7. That's because none of Ford's 'refreshes' are even remotely convincing as having all-new changes. I agree these trucks need new interiors, especially the TrailBlazer, and the others that are not TrailBlazer and Envoy need to die. This is a different market today-trucks can no longer run 20 years without an actually convincing-looking update-not even 10, as changed by the 1994 Dodge Ram. And the S-10 Blazer/Jimmy/Bravada were all trash in retrospect, vastly behind their competitors, and unsafe to boot (i.e. have you sat in the back seat of a 5-door 1995-96 Blazer? The backrest doesn't even go to my lower neck-and I'M ONLY 5'4!!!!) Colorado's still a compact truck no matter how you look at it. Its smaller than Dakota and Tacoma, both of which are actually mid-size, and unlike Colorado/Canyon/i-Series (anyone seen any of those?), they're at least half-decent trucks. In other words, too small for TrailBlazer/Envoy in their current form, IMO. Then again...maybe not....who knows?
  8. Yeah I don't understand why DTS has a 1SA-1SE or 1SF group-they should have three regular levels at the most, excluding a V-Series type (which I know doesn't or won't exist, but just for example).
  9. I've been thinking that all along-I'm torn on what to do with Pontiac-I'd love to see them produce a FWD/AWD sports compact line to compete perfectly with Mazda 3, styled and named after the 2000 Piranha concept car. I'd also like to see a Saturn Evoke (Astra 2010 or so), but if that came in pair of hatchbacks, wagon, and LWB or other sedan, it could be done. But Pontiac, if they REALLY have to have a couple FWD cars, make a Piranha and G6 replacement-leave the rest to Chevy, Saturn, and in more luxurious cases, Buick.
  10. That's good pricing for Aura, especially on the XE-what a deal! The Ford Fusion SE V-6 is like $21,665 or such, right? I'm glad Aura is V-6 only-leave 4-cylinders and base models to the Malibu, and give G6 a higher-performance/styling image.
  11. Also, I don't see the old 1986-97 Ford Aerostar and 1985-2005 Chevy Astro/GMC Safari as minivans-they were based on Ranger and S-10/S-15/Sonoma respectively, and were all therefore trucks. The first true minivans from Ford and GM were the 1993 (92.5) Mercury Villager, 1995 Ford Windstar, and 1990 Chevy Lumina APV/Pontiac TransSport/Oldsmobile Silhouette. And we all know their lasting success stories and reliability records.
  12. Here lies GMC: 19xx(?)-2013. A car-based minivan (oh wait, they all are) is suicide-a seriously bad move. Chevy and Buick should get the minivans, one luxurious long wheelbase; mainstream short and long wheelbases (I was formerly advocating for a truly sport SWB Pontiac Montana as well, but Mazda MPV is on its deathbed in the states, and Chevy looks like it can be capable of great styling too, plus I'm embracing their RWD-only performance image, so that's backburner-bound). These vans can't come soon enough-2010 is a long way for these dogs. Kudos to Saturn NOT getting a next minivan-import the Vectra-based large MPV, slap the Relay badge there.
  13. I don't hate it, I don't love it. Almost a tiring/tired evolution on the 1988-98 and 1999-2007 trucks-enough derivativeness already. The grille looks nice, the fender bulges help, but taking anything from those crummy Colorado's is a seriously downward move, it looks like its trying to be original, but the design fails. The grille looks good, but otherwise, that's about it. Good to see Sport Red Metallic is alive and well though.
  14. Nice! Keep it overseas, give us a real American rear-wheel-drive car that doesn't have a puny width or solely front bucket seats, etc.
  15. Why would Chevy kill the TrailBlazer? Sorry if I missed something, but it just seems unwise and unlikely that Chevy would kill TB. Maybe its sales are dropping along with other truck-based mid-size SUV's, I don't know-but it seems so continually popular and semi-traditional, as well as profit-making that it doesn't make sense to drop TrailBlazer and Envoy. Take Toyota's Highlander and 4Runner and Nissan Murano and Pathfinder for example. Of course Chevy's mid-size car-based SUV is the Equinox-but a Lambda would be a nice product that would usurp sales from the discontinued TB EXT-and all of the aforementioned Nissan, Toyota, and Chevy's are very popular in my area-or at least commonly seen.
  16. BTW, the Malibu-clone Cutlass was V-6 only. Nice posts! Why should Montana or Torrent go to GMC?
  17. Better change this forum to GMC Trucks and Car. I don't understand the point of the Acadia-it looks just like the Outlook, and its a front-wheel-drive car underneath-why must GMC and Jeep's lifelong truck reputation be destroyed by these? Ship it over to Chevy and never mention it again!
  18. Well, the front end is very reminiscent of the 2003 SS concept, the wheelbase is longer, the rear looks nice and the body looks sleek-I'm excited! That's what we call GETTING THERE!
  19. Another score for Lucerne! And this is something GM needs to advertise, especially on the G6, which could use some positive reinforcement.
  20. Yeah I agree the BMW side window look is starting to get tiring, but this looks pretty sleek-wonder how the passenger and cargo room holds up. Here's for hoping the Pontiac Zeta isn't a rebadged Commodore....
  21. Great news, I'm excited! I could care less if the Vibe died-as long as Saturn gets a compact and subcompact sports coupe, hatchbacks, and sedans, I don't care what happens with the non-Zeta portion of Pontiac. And please, unless its done with a fastback hatch and performance engine a la Mazda CX-7, ditch Torrent and keep GMC a TRUCK company! Give the Acadia to Chevy and don't even think of another car-based GMC! Now about that sporty Bonneville replacement...
  22. Save it for marriage and I hope it went well! Had a date with my friend last week and it went well-we went to Popeye's (I asked her if she liked it beforehand-and she did it turned out), took her home to meet the family, except for one of my sisters, and then to my Pastor's bible study-she's a Christian too. So here's hoping....
  23. I don't get it-this is a forum-we're all allowed to have our own opinions and we should be free to express them, and not everyone has to care about what we have to say, but saying no one cares is just plain rude. I think there's some great ideas here Bowtie Dude!
  24. Are they really that out of it to continue a 4-cylinder or any of the current engines? Styling looks inspired by the Kahuna (fabulous in person!) concept of 2003 as well as the bland, almost-useless 2007 Aspen (Durango clone).
  25. Interesting Evok-so basically, CTS would rise up to cover both it and STS's current size position; the next STS would be more or less slightly larger, and a new XTS or ULS-type vehicle would/could slot above? And this would leave more room for BLS, if I'm following correctly?
