  1. 198" is too small for a DTS-it needs to be bigger than that-its needs to have vast trunk space-think of it this way-Chrysler 300 is 197" and only has 15.6 cubic feet-mediocre for a mid-size car, downright pitiful (but not the worst) for a full-size car. The chop looks okay, I'm not crazy about it, but the rounded peg at the bottom riight corner of the Holden's front doors just kills it for me. I think if a next DTS is made, it needs to look exactly like the 2003 Sixteen concept. Well, with a few edgier changes perhaps, but just as long as it doesn't compromise the entire design. I don't really care what happens to STS or DTS-but Cadillac needs a flagship sedan, but GM has other priorities right now. I say, keep the DTS until Cadillac is more ready/in better shape to develop an XTS/Sixteen-type car. But modernize the DTS at least to Lexus LS levels at the very least!
  2. I like the Nitro-a few design things here and there (like the unoriginal taillamps and boxy roofline) that I don't like, but otherwise not bad, and its too bad GM no longer has a contender in the COMPACT (this is NOT mid-size) truck-based SUV segment. Dodge and Jeep differentiation hopefully done right.
  3. Dark Garnet=Maroon, Ming Blue=Navy Blue, Light Quartz is a type of lavender I think, probably their nicest metallic. Sandstone is actually Bronze.
  4. Those wheels on the WT suck! They look like the current truck wheels, which are are degenerate of those on the 1999-2004 models. They just don't look that appealing (the trucks that is) at all.
  5. Overpriced, odd but interesting grille, no thanks to this overhyped mediocrity.
  6. I hope for GM's sake, Malibu will be a home-run-the current Malibu is a pretty crummy car-it needs to be almiost perfect, spacious, and that trunk better be pushing at least 16 cubic feet, though 17 like the 1997-2005 model would be better. (2004-05 Classic, that is.) I'm waiting to see this car more than CTS, Enclave, Astra, or whatever else is coming for 2008.
  7. If anything, LaCrosse needs to dump anything below the CXS trim-as I've said in other threads, the time when Buicks are equipped like Chevrolet's need to end once and for all.
  8. A) What are LED's? B) What's the point of spy shots when the thinly-disguised concept car was already unveiled half a year ago? (Nice shots though-haven't seen the video yet), and C) If a luxury car/car-based SUV has LED taillamps, whatever they are, Buick better have them, no questions asked. Buick needs to stop being equipped like a Chevy and start being equipped like a luxury car, from base to top model, no questions asked.
  9. The first thing I'd cut from Buick are all CX and CXL trim levels on all cars, though I'd add velour and front split bench seats as standards (and leather and/or buckets no-cost options, vice-versa). I agree, the only Buick right now that's really gold-standard is Enclave-the only way I'd ever get a LaCrosse is if I wanted a mid-size car with a bench seat-otherwise that car comes up short in pretty much every possible area-not a horrible car, but not great either. Lucerne just looks un-Buick-like (though I love that new lavender-like Light Quartz Metallic color), Rendezvous, Rainier, and Terraza need to die sooner, and more styling and products/wider-variety of products can't come soon enough.
  10. I was about to say-I was hoping that the Pontiac 'Commodore' would not be a rebadge-it was too boring looking and Pontiac does need unique product, but with Pontiac styling, not boring Holden styling. Either way, I'm excited and can't wait to see this concept car-hopefully it will retain the Grand Prix badge-it would be perfect, more or less for it. Now would this car be sedan only, or would there be a coupe and/or short-tail sports wagon body style as well? Offer it in SV6, SV8, GT, GTP, and if necessary, GXP trim levels, with Commodore's powertrains, plus a 5300 V-8 in between the 3.6-liter HF V-6 and 6000 V-8's.
  11. The front end looks very GM Sequel concept-inspired-not a bad thing, but the videophoto is otherwise fuzzy.
  12. Not as nice and stylish as Sebring's dashboard, but I like the steering wheel and the rest of the new Mondeo-sportier for the D-segment-now if some of that style and sportiness can come here...
  13. Saw it on the rediscovered, apparently-always-there AutoScoops website, at www.autoscoops.be . Kind of boring and unoriginal, but pleasantly-styled, nothing special here-I wonder what the dimensions are.
  14. Very stylish car BTW, it would actually propel Chevy compacts to be inspiring something, rather than inspiring mediocrity which is what all of those cars have ever done, maybe with a couple very minor exceptions. The rear looks a little odd, but very welcome and better than the renderings (how rare is that?!) as well.
  15. Why do C-segment sedans and wagons need an extended wheelbase? Why can't they just be on a regular wheelbase (104.3" is ideal), and just get as much passenger and cargo room from that?
  16. No, Bronzed Pewter is Saturn's 53U-also known as Amber Bronze, Bronzestone, Antique Bronze, Sandstone, and Radiant Bronze, all metallic colors respectively at Chevy, Pontiac, GMC, Buick and Cadillac. Cadillac's 78U is Sunset Blue; Buick doesn't have one yet, and Pontiac/GMC share the Blue-Gold Crystal name. Chevy's is Golden Pewter-haven't seen a 78U yet, and I'm real confused as to what it is. However, I saw 14U Ligh Quartz Metallic on a Buick Lucerne over the weekend-like a Lavender or something-beautiful color.
  17. Sandstone=Sedona Beige/Cashmere/Golden Cashmere-one of my favorite colors-matches my PrismaColor Sand colored pencil and looks rich-definitely agree about the cheap look of the Ligh Driftwood and Sanddrift colors though. I forgot to add 1, maybe 2 colors to my list: Pace Blue (20U)-non-metallic Electric Blue that's new on Cobalt/Colorado, and.... Arrival Blue Metallic (91U)-the Ultramarine used on Pontiac G6, 2003-04 Chevy Silverado and 2005 Cobalt.
  18. No, there is no point for the CTS with the 2.8-liter V-6 engine, unless its for Europe, Australia, or other countries where it is exported here. I mean, the Infiniti G35, CTS' closest and truest rival, has what, 280hp now? And CTS has like 250 or something right? And outside of North America, unless the 2.8 is shooed in as a lower G6 engine or made available in the Delta cars, I don't see a point for that either.
  19. That's odd-the Corsavan and Astravan usually have solid metal panels in place of the rear quarter windows-you know, like in the 1971-75 Chevy Vega Panel Delieveries (and other sedan/panel deliveries of yore). Looks better than the regular Corsas however.
  20. I've seen a few-mostly in the Pittsford-Brighton areas, they're nice looking and somewhat distinguished, but I never saw the point of anything beyond the Chevy and GMC versions (and Oldsmobile when still alive, but making it a Buick made sense at the time-even though it took 2 years from being shown at auto shows to actually being on the roads), and while this sounds like a nice package, I doubt anyone cares.
  21. Looks stylish, but in a bland sort of way-not an all-out style like the Prevue/Antara GTC concept cars, which is desperately what GM needs, not this. But it will probably sell, and at least the engines sound to be correct this time-now about the other GM FWD cars....
  22. Captain Booyah-love that Simpsons episode! LOL! The concept is nice, but I don't like that giant hood bulge.
  23. I just saw this Google video on Design Insight-even more great sketches (I love those!)-does anyone know how to still Videos into pics? Here's the Google video link: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6...docidfeed&hl=en
  24. That's because they were one and the same, I believe. Also, great pics and discussion-I also remember in my Standard Catalog of American Trucks, 1896-1986 by Krause Publications, Oldsmobile and Buick had commercial chassis and 'Flower Car' body styles-I know Oldsmobile also had a Sedan Delivery up until about 1950 (I don't remember if Buick ever had one or not), and the Olds Toronado also later, circa 1973-78, lent its chassis not only to those 1970's GMC Motorhomes (heavily advertised in magazines such as National Geographic), but also to Flower Cars-I haven't read my book in a while, but I'll have to check those out when I get a chance.
  25. Nice shots, meh design.
