  1. Actually Safari had a V-6, and in 1985-89 or so variations, the Iron Duke 2.5-liter I-4 out of the A-Body cars (Celebrity/6000/Cutlass Ciera/Century) as well.
  2. So if this is true, then that means that it will be alive, but barely, for the 2008 model year, or have an extended 2007. Its too bad MC is on the chopping block, but its not selling well, its aging, and the current car really doesn't offer much other than the wrongly-titled SS and nice paint colors.
  3. I like it, but I have yet to see it in person-hopefully soon enough. Looks very Maxima-like-hopefully it will have more passenger and cargo room than before, or at least comparable.
  4. Griffon, are you alluding to a European Ford Galaxy and Renault Espace-type Opel/Vauxhall rival based on the Vectra's Epsilon II architecture? I recommend a Ford S-MAX rival, like a next-generation Signum? Call the Galaxy rival Sintra, style both after Insignia and Antara GTC concept cars. Or is this the real deal?
  5. Yeah DeVille is a unibody car. I love the Crimson Pearl/Tintocoat paint (the Red Jewel that I never see just isn't special at all), and this asks: what's after this for Cadillac?
  6. Well, compared to GM who is taking its really slow time with the Buick Enclave, Mazda rushed the CX-7 to production!
  7. I know GM can do some things right-this isn't one of them, though I guess I'd need more views.
  8. Wasn't expecting much beyond an engine that should be standard anyway-I don't see a point to Pontiac living unless sporty styling and Zetas appear-I don't see either here (or in most of the rest of the line), though the grille is a nice change-now the rest of the car needs to look significantly separated from Equinox in the styling department should it have a point in existing. Now how about a 300hp version to combat the Acura MDX (which is more Buick Enclave's department, but it would still make a nice performance SUV, more fitting to the GXP character.
  9. Not to mention an actual, worthwhile future for Pontiac, something they don't have without Zeta. Also, how about a production GM Precept or at least another quirky hybrid concept car that should go to production.
  10. 2008 Saturn Astra maybe? Clay models? A stylish Chevy car and truck concept (and Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Saturn) that will outline styling directions for all.
  11. Very sumptuous car, good stopgap, I think it was evok who suggested that the next generation of this car takes the DTS name, in short and long wheelbase variations, an idea I fully support. I also fully support bringing this car to the States, complete with interior-but make a rear bench seat (power reclining, split) standard with the rear buckets optional-Cadillac needs to break out in features and models, and this car might help them continue to do that. However, make the rear larger and more stylish-the trunk should be at least 17 cubic feet, and I still think that's low-balling it, but maybe not, since the current model has a paltry 13-14 cubic feet.
  12. A Chevy Cobalt with variety, passenger-cargo room, optimal standard/optional equipment, and an Easy-Entry front passenger's seat that even the crummy Cavalier had, yet Cobalt doesn't, thus making an even more difficult task to get to the back seat. There's much more, but that's all I could think of at the moment. Oh yeah, and some Buicks that aren't solely for the AARP crowd-LaCrosse and Lucerne just don't fully speak 'new Buick' to me. And Lucerne doesn't even look like a Buick, it looks like an elegant Chevy.
  13. Or perhaps Chrysler just wanted to move it in a different direction... The current model is starting to age a little bit and will need to be pumped up next to the Lambdas (and possibly the 2009 Ford D471) but its not that bad overall-I support redesigning it onto the Town & Country platform before moving it to LY, so now I just wonder what they're doing like everyone else.
  14. Saw two Blue-Gold G6's Saturday at the Pontiac dealer (they now have an all-in-one brochure for 2007-very nice-go get one!), a why-is-it-in-the-lineup 1SV sedan and a GT sedan. Its like a Greyed Lavender color or such, beautiful color that should be expanded-though its easy to confuse with the 14U Light Quartz Metallic color of the Buick Lucerne and the minivans.
  15. Yes! They're either totally forgotten/forgettable (Omega, all) or absolute crap (others), or always crap, but could be used now if done right (Skyhawk and Aztek).
  16. I got the Chevy Impala (my choice), Buick Terraza, Saab 9-5, GMC Canyon Crew Cab, Pontiac Grand Prix, and the Saturn ION sedan, all of which but Impala and maybe Grand Prix are crap that I can't stand. So hands down, Impala is definitely my choice, in Precision Red, 2LT with a front bench.
  17. I still think this truck is a grade-F piece of crap that is way too small, cheap-looking, gutless, overpriced, underequipped, etc., but like the 1998-2004 generation of the Nissan Frontier (particularly the 2001-on facelift), this would do wonders for a dated-before-on-sale design turkey like this. Of course, its still got the weak structure, but its better style, and should be pursued. Same applies to that obscure Canyon AT4 concept truck as shown above.
  18. Sounds good-too bad for Montego and 300 though!
  19. Milk with Ovaltine, and a Medium Vanilla Iced Coffee Dunkin' Donuts when I get to school.
  20. The only way I could possibly support a BOF car today is if it were mid-size or large-and that's a big if, considering Zeta is coming. The moreI've thought about it, the more it makes sense to me. No, its not differentiated from Cobalt as much as it should be, but think about it-was the 1982-94 Sunbird really that differentiated from Cavalier? The 1995-99 Sunfire sedans? (Less so for 2000-02), although the coupes were generally pretty different-looking from Cavalier.
  21. Nicest of all these concepts I've seen so far (this is my third)-the others I've seen have been pretty weak so far, but its nice to see Lucerne looking for appeal to a younger audience.
  22. Not much of a show car, but I like the Ocean Mist paint, the wheels, and the Outlook itself.
  23. Haven't been in many cars lately, but the Aura and Fusion are a toss-up for tops in the mid-sized classes, Malibu and G6 dead and near-last, respectively. Haven't seen the Sebring yet, but I'm not too keen on it because of the weak standard equipment levels and near worst-in-class cargo space (13.9 cubic feet vs. near-class-best 16.2 for the 2001-06 models). I sat in the discontinued Suzuki (correct spelling) Verona at the 2004 Auto Show in Rochester-spacious car, decent interior, of course the weak engine and Suzuki's weak and unknown reputation in the U.S. likely caused the slow sales, and why despite the unique Aerio and SX4, and improved Grand Vitara, they really haven't gotten anywhere despite being here since 1989.
  24. Great pricing! My Outlook is that this car will be a home run-now expand on colors and get this car out sooner! I see no use or reason for the Acadia. Its nice, but it erodes GMC's lifelong truck (these are not trucks, they're cars) image, and since it and Buicks are mostly sold in the same dealer and being so close in styling to Outlook, Acadia should be dropped, and Chevy should get a differently-styled version.
  25. Exciting stuff-passed by the dealer last week (at night) and saw a Nitro-not up close, but haven't seen it or gotten a brochure on it-maybe next week..
