  1. Very exciting! Glad to see the Astra finally unveiled-can't wait to hear more about it, nice color and wheels on the hatchback coupe picture! I hope the interior looks better in person than in the pictures though.
  2. Its a sad day when there's more import brand vehicles at a Detroit show than American ones, i.e. LA.
  3. Not bad looking-looks kind of like the Chevy WTCC Ultra, T2X, and Journey concept cars.
  4. Its nice, but its time for something fresh and new, styling wise. The 1991-96 Caprice (especially 93-96) was nice, but it needs to stop being evolutionized in the Statesman/Caprice and current Impala.
  5. Looks sharp-I see a lot of BMW 6-Series in the design, as well as thaty Fisker car in AutoWeek over the summer.
  6. The Nitro was not Dodge's first mid-size SUV-that was the 1998-2003 Durango. And second of all, Nitro is most definitely a compact SUV, not a mid-size. Take a look at a TrailBlazer and a Nitro side by side and compare cargo room and exterior size-its a very, very clear difference, trust me. Nice truck that I bet will do well though, despite the deluded divisions/PR and narrow rear step-in height. Anyway, looks like Stratus, Dakota, and Magnum sales fell by half-that sucks, though Avenger can't come soon enough-Dodge would be wise to rush it out, and in the future, not leave such giant gaps in their lineups-no compact sedans, no mid-size sedan for over a year, and then the early Intrepid discontinuance in early 2004, only a Magnum for 2005, and no Charger until 2006. Not a smart move, but it was worth it for Charger.

I'd still like to see more front split-bench seats-modernized of course, that is, having actual room for the center passenger (i.e. its time for GM to stop offering such narrow cars), if not for that traditional American feel. The cupholders-in-doors is a good trend too, started by Honda Accord, Ford Five Hundred, and the Chrysler Sebring-makes sense, right? And if Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac continue to offer a front bench (which I hope they do-and for STANDARD or no-cost option, not extra, which is just stupid), then I hope there is some innovation put in, such as a small headrest, higher backrest, and a detachable/seat-mounted shoulder/lap belt offered as well.

I'm really optimistic on the Enclave-unlike the average, boring VUE (which we already knew about), the Enclave is a styling knockout, with a good powertrain, lots of potential, and more passenger and cargo room than any premium car-based crossover SUV-of course, it better have it, since its now the largest! Starting with the 2010 LaCrosse, the sedans (and hopefully wagon, coupe, convertible, etc.) body styles need to be significantly differentiated with sleek, Buick-like styling (see LaCrosse/Cielo/Signia/Velite concepts and Enclave), but also with far higher standard/optional equipment lists than comparable Chevy, Saturn, and Pontiac cousins-and not to entrench on Cadillac's territory that is. I believe it can be done. Lucerne's on the right track, but needs a fancier interior and more Buick-like styling. You might ask, since I have a gripe about everything it seemes, what do I have against the Enclave? That dated steering wheel! Otherwise, looks spot-on, just add some colors and get it out! I and everyone else here can't wait to see it!
  9. Sat in one Monday, an LTZ or 2LT Graystone 1500 4x4 Crew Cab. I liked it better than the virtually identical (there's more differentiation than ever, but you know they're still the same-a mixed bag) Sierra I'd seen but not sat in the day before, and while the dasdhboard was nice-this truck had a power sliding sunroof-and not much head room, and I found the back seat cramped, and I was disappointed that there was no way of reclining or adjusting the seat, and that it was right against the back of the cab, just like in the not so good old days that should've been bygone a long, long time ago. Its better than the outgoing truck, but it just doesn't really seem to advance anywhere other than having a nice dashboard and finally catching up with the competition in a select few areas but not most others. No, I didn't drive it, but I'm sorry, I'm just not sold and that's my initial take.

Enclave looks great-I always thought the Centieme concept was a dog compared to the 1998 Signia, 1999 Cielo, 2000 LaCrosse, and even 2001 Bengal (and 2004 Velite), and I tried really hard to like it, but I just couldn't bring myself to like it much. Enclave looks great, now how about some drawings, GM!

I totally disagree-Airflite was one of my favorite Chrysler concepts-probably just beating out the 1998 Chronos for my absolute favorite Chrysler concept-but the new Sebring is a lousy car, with its low entry/exit (at 5.4' I almost banged my head on the roof and A-pillar getting out of the driver's seat), horrible head restraints (almost as abominable as the Compass abomination), weak value for the money and trunk/rear seat space, and let's not forget the exterior design, especially the googly headlamps and wrongly-shaped taillamps. I hope the Nassau is better, because I haven't seen anything special so far.
  12. So what's the Glacier Gold exterior look like? I just see the nice Black Raven...still, just a nice special edition trim package with an unexciting name.
  13. Looks awesome! Too bad they're sticking with CX and CXL designations of trim-what happened to Reserve, Super, and Ultra? But anyway, its beautiful, can't wait to see and hear more!

I agree-I fully support a Monte Carlo-replacing 2-door notchback coupe AND 5-door, 2-3-seat (up to 8 passengers, with an optional front split-bench seat on select sedans and wagons) station wagon body styles. Can't wait to see Malibu unveiled-I just hope Chevy gets the equipment and other details right, because they royally screwed that up with the Silverado (i.e. why on earth are there front disc/rear drum brakes still??!!??? Its not 1977!!!! 2007!!!) Chevy would be wise to make 4-wheel disc brakes WITH ABS standard on every single model! Anyway, great stance, awesome grille, let's hope its the hit GM so desperately needs!
  15. I just prefer the Dodge Ram, Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra-they scream style to me-these scream "same rehashed stuff." Maybe I was a little off when I typed it, sorry. I'll have to take another look at the Chevy and GMC when I get a chance, but I'm sorry, I just don't like either truck from what I've seen so far.
  16. Looks nice, but a U.S.A. Caprice needs to look like a Chevy. Nice stance, though.
  17. Saw my first Sierra today, a 1500 SLT 4x4 crew cab in Steel Gray Metallic that cost a whopping $44,544 and looked much cheaper. It was just as disappointing in person as it was on paper and online (just like the Chrysler Sebring I saw yesterday), it looked kind of puny, pathetic, and cramped. The floor to roof interior height looked tiny (the dealer was closed, so I didn't get to sit in it). Too narrow, too low, still too Chevy-like-I really wish the mighty 2000 Terradyne concept was used as a template for the Sierra because it looks weak.
  18. The Enclave sounds like the only exciting entry on there, the others just special editions or stuff we've already seen.
  19. So this is the concept.....that's a true concept, real interesting-I can't wait to draw this! And I thought the Jeep Treo was a stretch for the brand... Its interesting this O2 can transform into multiple body styles, can't wait to see more pictures!
  20. When looking at the list, I had a strange deja vu-but its a good start of a list-can't wait to see Malibu and CTS especially! The smaller Chinese SUV looks nice, but I don't like the boxy one as much, and hopefully there will be Dodge and other Ford and GM concept car unveils.

The only new, 2007 model-year car that I can think of that broke any new ground whatsoever is the Dodge Caliber-but its interior, standard equipment, color selection, and and platform dynamics are all crap from what I hear (I've seen the interior and I didn't like it at all, just slightly more than the abominable one of cousin Jeep Compass). Saturn Aura and Sky are very nice, but are more of improvements on existing themes-Camry, I suppose I can see why it won-it looks slick in SE form, and the Hybrid is more commonfolk-intended than the Honda Accord Hybrid.

  23. I guess if you wanted an absolutely gutless Equinox 4-cylinder that might be a good idea-I know I don't.
  24. Too bad GM simply gives up instead bothering to try and do something right, in this case anyway. I only like the wheels, some colors, and Chevy front end, but otherwise I have always hated these vans, and so has everyone else. The poor crash ratings haven't helped the ancient/average-from-the-start design either.
  25. Looks nice, but the interior door panel (other than the nice two-tone) is bland and so is the ancient-looking transmission shifter. Otherwise a revelation over the current lousy car.
