  1. It largely depends on the design of the sunroof as to the likelihood of it leaking. Also, and this is a BIG also, people often misunderstand what a "leaking" sunroof is. If you ever look at a sunroof opening with it open, you'll notice a trough. Sunroofs don't really seal perfectly anyway - they have a trough with drains to divert that bit of water that gets through. Many sunroof "leaks" are actually sunroof drain clogs that back the water up & overflow the trough, getting the headliner, etc., wet.
  2. slight upward fender buldges remind me of 'vette stingray styling - could be hot...
  3. I liked the banter at the end where they started scheming about how to get GM to sell the Solstice in Japan. THAT says something!
  4. GTO - heck yeah.
  5. people today... so spoiled. I'm just glad to have a CD player. Once drove a truck with 6 disk CD - such luxury! lol Seems like more people should try talking to their kids in the back seat instead of trying to hush them up with a movie...
  6. Looks good to me. I'd never buy one, though, but that's a brand thing.
  7. While those look good, I really think that GM needs to make bigger sheetmetal changes than that for a firebird. As said, they've done well with the 'vette/XLR and sky/solstice, and they need that level of differentiation for the camaro/firebird, or GM's reputation will once again get slapped for badge engineering (vs the much more acceptable platform engineering).
  8. +1, they still make money off the subscription. Of course people would/will complain about "I didn't want that option, why are they forcing me to have it?", but they'll get over it.
  9. Good news on the price reduction. For the kind of money they were wanting, whenever I'd "build my own" on a site, I couldnt' justify getting it - it's so much cheaper to get an aftermarket setup. Now it's closer to worth considering.
  10. It'd be nice if someday you could pull your head out of your butt and admit that FWD has a place in the market. You don't like it? Fine, don't buy it, but have enough of a brain to realize that making every vehicle on the market RWD would be dumb.
  11. I personally think the Saturn dealers are slipping further & further into the "just another dealership" category, and forgetting things that set them apart in the early days.
  12. Am I the only one who saw the title of the thread and started thinking about actual features of the garage (garage size, tools, etc) versus just a huge list of cars?
  13. since it's a parts stamping plant, maybe a supplier company would want it, versus another major auto manufacturer...
  14. The ejector seat isn't too far-fetched - it just needs to eject you slightly sideways, then up. The door already pops open for you...
  15. I also thought the GTO was a very nice car, looks & all. I heard people complain that it looked like the Cavalier, and I can see some styling simmilarities, but not anywhere near mistaking one for the other, or anything that made the GTO look bad. Now most of the "concept" GTO drawings I've seen in recent years - those tend to be horrendous.
  16. There's actually lots of psych literature about this, and a quick summary would be: Young people can change quite a bit, but the older people get, the less they change. Once people get to their mid 20's to early 30's, they're pretty well set in their ways, short of a major life-changing experience (generally something that causes great mental shock, allowing for the change). Still, all people change a little bit - if you change jobs, it takes your brain a while to literally re-wire portions of itself so that it is more efficient at doing the new job.
  17. huh? This has nearly nothing to do with that concept, they just "opelized" the Malibu/G6. It has far more to do with those cars than the Vectra (at least until the next gen Aura).
  18. The Ion's fuel economy is underrated - a guy I used to work with used to get better than 35 regularly commuting to work.
  19. BWAAHAHA... Oh sorry... The Cobalt & Ion are practically the same car already. Same platform & drivetrain. Difference is in the panels, in & out. Oh, and the Ion came first, so it's not that far-fetched to say they "Cobalted an Ion". Granted, the Cobalt & G5 share a lot more than the Ion & Cobalt, but all the Ion could have used is a bit more thorough refresh when they did the refresh, including a regular-mounted speedo to appease all those who won't even try getting used to the center-mount. (I prefer the standard-mount too, but the center-mount isn't the abolmination that some make it out to be).
  20. 37 mpg in mine. I supposed to get 40 highway, though, so I gotta figure out what's not up to snuff.
  21. That's a pretty old article. A lot has happened since April.
  22. Some simmilarities, but not really THAT simmilar. Both look good, though the Mercedes looks a little better. It ought to for the money.
  23. Except the buyer that thought they got a deal on a perfect, new car, and then finds out that the seals have dried out and things start failing...
  24. Flying yourself isn't exactly something everyone can do. Everyone owning & driving a car causes enough chaos, imagine everyone having their own personal plane... Maybe passenger rail travel will become more feasible. Last time I was going to take a trip and checked on train tickets, they were rediculous. Flying is quick, even with high security, if you are going far enough. Just be patient, and have nothing to hide.
