  1. first thought from the pic of the rear: camry solara.
  2. I kinda wish Saturn had been kept small cars as well - something more like Scion, only not so... ummm... yeah...
  3. It's an interesting thought, too... if they just call the wagon "vectra", and the sedan "aura", then the wagon kinda has its own distinct-ness... I think I like wagon = vectra rather than wagon = aura wagon.
  4. functionally they're the same, so that's purely opinion. Personally, if I were considering the two, the quad coupe would win - love the rear doors.
  5. That doesn't mean people can't still look for/buy them - they'll still be on dealer lots for months. The Astra should be nicer, but it's also more money. Lots of things to consider...
  6. I had one of those at Bennigans not too long ago. First several bites were awesome. After that... just got to be way too much dough.
  7. it had better have an "off" button...
  8. Seat design does need more attention in this area. The tests may not be completely legit due to factors not included, but good headrest design needs more attention, IMO. It bugs me to get into a car and find if I rest my head on the headrest, I'm staring at the ceiling it's so far back... I'd love to see more cars with forward/backward adjustable headrests.
  9. pretty much, but you've gotta admit that the first one is a good piece to push the vehicle as a delivery vehicle for small businesses.
  10. I like all three. The Beat looks like a Smart car, except cool looking. The Groove looks like a mini HHR with a twist. The Trax has some pretty unique styling cues, though I'm not a big fan of the different colored panels. If I had to pick one, I'd probably pick the Beat, with the Trax in a close second. The Groove is cool, but just doesn't seem as unique.
  11. looks fine to me, though the overhang over the headlights looks funny. Makes me think poor fit/finish kinda thing, even though it's probably on purpose...

    Subaru B9

booooring. I kinda liked how the old one was different, even if it was weird.
  13. How and what do you know?
  14. Spring Hill has the capacity to build another vehicle beyond 200k of these Chevy's, correct? (next gen Astra... please!)
  15. I think it looks great, but they should pick one color for the body panels, or not do the jagged random two-tone like the Element *used* to do... it just looks cheap (though slightly better when half the panels aren't just unpainted panels...)
  16. The wagons were SW's. Saturn made RHD models for a while for export to Japan. They also sold RHD wagons to the US postal service - they pop up on ebay every so often.
  17. Ummm... Ford has had a RWD V8 sedan for... forever? It's just not deemed "cool" anymore, so people forget about it...
  18. It's important to realize that the 25mpg figure may be based on different testing procedures than other vehicles have been through. If you test car A through hills, and car B on flat land, can you compare the results? Give it time and see what real life shows...
  19. ...keep in mind that the hp difference won't matter to many hybrid buyers, as they'll baby every mpg they can out of it. Look at the hp levels Prius owners put up with. The Accord hybrid is kinda off on its own, being performance rather than mpg oriented. It's tough to compare anything to it, or it to anything...
  20. why is this in general motors news? This should be in the lounge. And yes, electric superchargers are junk. There are very, very few that are well made (most are boat bilge pumps), and even those are not very effective.
  21. Unfortunately, the early to mid L-Series is kinda known for electrical gremlins. I've seen two or three where the odometer randomly adds 300k miles to the actual milage. lol It's a shame, really, because I like a lot of things about the L, but I don't think I would buy one for fear of the electricals...
  22. superheating water in a nuclear power plant. You can easily and efficiently heat the water hot enough to split the water molecules, and not use electrolysis.
  23. Diversity is a wonderful thing.
  24. :rotflmao: I assume you are making this horrible, gross, incorrect generalization by assuming that hydrogen would be produced in majority (long-term) by electrolysis? Terrible assumption... and even if that's what you're trying to express, this was a terrible way to phrase it. Hydrogen = liquid electricity? Gee, where'd all the protons & neutrons go? lol I gotsta re-read some chemistry books... *edit* I'm not saying that I think hydrogen will definitely be *the* solution (or even necessarily a large-scale solution among many), but to dismiss it so readily seems a bit short sighted...
