  1. See how much more credible you are now? I can still nitpick the statement a little... (the statement being regarding when they first came to market makes it questionable if it would still apply) ... but at least the number came from somewhere, and we know it comes from a reasonable source. I'm just quick to call BS around here anymore, because there are some people on here that really like to pull numbers out of their butts to "prove" their point. I thank you for not doing that.
  2. Infrastructure improvements won't happen all at once, but neither will the onset of plug-in hybrids. How in the world would someone think the ICE would be half phased out in less than 12 years? That's crazy talk. The poll should have had increments like 0-15 years, 15-30 years, 30+ years.
  3. You're doing it wrong. After a statement like that, you need to say: Please quote your source. Otherwise, it can only be assumed you are pulling numbers out of your butt.
  4. Maybe he needs a special costume or something for opening night.
  5. QUALITY you can see!!! (through)
  6. I've never considered running from the police... but that second one might make me think twice, cuz I might have a chance! lol
  7. I suppose if both Opel and Saturn get spun off, they could team up... *scratches chin* But for the sake of GM, Opel should stay put.
  8. Not really - it's just that the Solstice can be had with fewer features. If you compare Solstice & Sky with the same features, MSRP is within hundreds.
  9. What will GM miss most? The less than 40k car sales, or the constant loss of money? (Don't worry, the same pretty much applies to my fav brand too, and I too would like to think it could be made into something if they'd just manage the brand right...)
  10. Saturn was never meant to get the current gen Corsa (well, it was considered for a very short time before deciding it'd cost too much to retrofit for the US), it was meant to get the next gen, which isn't out yet.
  11. In a sense, they've already been trying to do that... Personally, this whole thing makes me nervous. I'd rather see Saturn dead than sold to the Chinese to sell Cherys or other such crap. They're trying to sell it as "yay, Saturn will be independent like the good old days!", but yet you can see that Saturn would be dependent upon some other company for cars. Who would be interested? Someone that doesn't have US dealerships already. Could be a European make, but more likely, Chinese or Indian.
  12. While that's nice on some level, there are always some performance cars that cannot be a trim level of a mainstream car. Corvette, Solstice, cars like this appeal to people that won't buy a regular car with a performance suspension & drivetrain.
  13. That's just wrong...
  14. Unfortunately, I have to +1 this. A later year L-Series should be ok, but get it with a 4cyl. The 3.0L V6 is known for a few issues, and being a pain to work on, so it could get a little pricey. The 4cyl is the 2.2L ecotec, tho, so it should be good.
  15. At one point, Saturn wanted to buy itself from GM, but wasn't allowed to. I'm not sure there's enough of what Saturn was then for it to make sense now, though it would be interesting. I also think that if the economy turns around, GM will rethink every last bit of this plan, and all bets are off.
  16. Then why was it a good seller? It's all matter of opinion of course. Also keep in mind that you can find a bad review of any vehicle. Was the Vue the best product out at the time? Maybe not. I don't see where it's justified as being called "crap", though.
  17. Other than the variable trans & early V6 (3.0L), show me a poor drivetrain. The ecotec is solid, the honda V6 is solid, I've heard no major complaints about the auto or manual trannies... If you're referring to the variable trans & early V6, I hardly think it's fair to call the entire vehicle line crap based on that. I haven't heard of the interiors falling apart, so I'm gonna guess the interior gripes are your personal opinion more than anything.
  18. sorry, I overlooked the "very" part and thought Croc meant that it was built in the 80's. lol I don't mind the first gen Vue's styling, though they should've painted all the panels. Styling still doesn't make a vehicle "crap".
  19. But that's not doable anyway, since spring hill is making the Traverse, and not making the Vue or Astra. GM certainly isn't going to invest in several major retooling projects to try to include product with the brand. Especially when they likely intend to give the product to another division (Astra). I could possibly see GM choosing a closed or highly underutilized plant to include in the sale, but I don't think there is any way they will include product with the brand unless GM still does the building of the car & owns the design, and it becomes a deal like some of the GM products that have been sold through Suzuki, etc.
  20. There are a couple drivetrain setups in the Vue that are undesireable (variable trans and the early 3.0L 6cyl), but I don't see how the Vue overall is "complete crap".
  21. Go through Denver & take I70, best stretch of interstate I know of after Denver on into Utah.
  22. Yup, that's pretty much my thought - the only thing GM can really do with Saturn is flat-out kill it. The ONLY way I could see selling it making any sense is to sell it to some Chinese or Indian company that has no brand recognition or dealer network, and would rather build off of something existing than make their own. There's pretty much no way to sell Saturn with any product or manufacturing capability, so it's just a name & dealer network. Even then, it's such a thorny issue that it probably just wouldn't work. Yet in spite of all of this, people on here & in the media say things about selling Saturn. But perhaps expecting opinions that are based in reality is expecting too much...
  23. Yeah, that's what I thought.
