  1. Products like what? Small 4cyl FWD cars? Yeah, that's very new, GM has nothing like that. Perhaps it's the turbo 4cyl that you're referring to? The Cruze will surely be on the market here before any Fiat Bravo based Chrysler, seeing as how they still have to finalize the partnership (if it even happens), reskin it, tweek it to meet US specs, tool a factory (even if just for the US spec parts & assembly), etc. I can understand some cynicism with GM these days, but it seems pretty misplaced in this case. Only thing I can think of that's left to differentiate it in any broad way is the styling, and that's always subjective (though the Bravo does look good, IMO.)
  2. Yes, please kill the Caliber so I don't have to look at any more of them. The Bravo looks 1000x better, but of course Chrysler will be designing a new exterior, so we'll see how that works out. (Personally, I'd leave the exterior pretty much alone if I were Chrysler.)
  3. Maybe - to me there is a big question involved. What sales can they expect from Chevy vs Buick, and what does that volume do to profitability? For example, let's say they would sell 80k Chevy units, or 20k Buick units. If selling 80k units at Chevy would make the platform profitable and therefore it would live longer and/or justify a next generation, then PLEASE GIVE IT TO CHEVY. If, however, the platform is going to lose money at either volume, and it's doomed, then maybe it's best to sell fewer (lose less money), and let the image bump go to Buick, which needs to appeal to people under 60 very badly.
  4. greed will screw people over no matter what the currency is.
  5. '98 Suburban LT base gasoline V8, ~160k miles, runs perfect and gets good gas mileage for any truck, let alone a truck it's size & weight.
  6. Sounds neat. I wonder what the pricetag is. Might be reasonable, since the buyer isn't paying for 2 drivetrains like in a hybrid. One potential issue I could see is with weather and outside power stations. A smart design should make that a rare issue, but still something to be considered. I doubt the postal service is going to start having garage space for their fleets. I could see some of these early oddball test models getting garage treatment, tho.
  7. If the $7,500 incentive plays out, I could see some long waiting lines for these, especially if they make the interior refined enough for people with deep pockets.
  8. I like the front two-thirds. I like the rear third. I don't like where they melted the two and smooshed them together.
  9. There are some minor cues that make me think of other vehicles, but as a whole it does seem pretty original. It's very over-the-top styling, and I think it's decent, if a bit cartoonish.
  10. They both still sell the suburban, they just changed the name, though I'm not sure if you knew that and your point had more to do with names than vehicles. All things equal, I'd rather buy a GMC than a Chevy. I'd probably pay a little more for it, too. Though right now, I'd rather have a Suburban than a Yukon XL due to styling - I just love the new Tahoe/'burban styling!
  11. Hopefully they have a hard time keeping Camaros on the lots when they start making their way there.
  12. This model should help GM at least come closer to breaking even on the E-REV platform, and hasten future developments and the day that these vehicles become profitable. Plus it's HOT.
  13. GMC = profitable. Getting rid of it is dumb.
  14. Where is the vote for "I want other choices"?

  16. It has gullwing doors, and thus looks like a delorian? How?
  17. I watch a Cobalt SS/TC at regular autocrosses, where it wipes the floor with just about everyone else there except the karts and maybe a vette or two (and there are plenty more vettes there than just one or two). Considering the HHR is a tall Cobalt, that's a pretty good indication. They hold up just fine, and perform more than just fine. I'm just wondering why Caddy doesn't seem to think a modded HHR SS can run with Camaros and GTOs...
  18. I was skeptical about this article from day 1, not because of it being published on Apr 1 (not that that helps), but because it only showed up in one place. Legit stories tend to surface in at least a few media outlets. Also, when the info is coming from a dealer owner, that doesn't help my skepticism either. They could make that sort of thing up just to get some confidence-inspiring press and try to sell a couple more cars. I don't trust dealerships, their employees or owners, much at all.
  19. I guess I'm odd... whenever I see or hear "Pentastar", I immediately think of when they put it on all those crappy 80's cars, so the pentastar just makes me think of crappy vehicles. (Granted, part of why I remember them as crappy is because I didn't really notice cars until sometime in the 90's, so they were all older cars then.)
  20. Stumbled on this: http://conceptrends.com/2009/03/15/green-f...in-south-korea/ I learn something every day. Apparently in Korea, trees don't require space for roots, and there aren't horrific winds at skyscraper heights! Some of the balconies may be ok (and some probably intolerably windy), but I can tell you this - those parks in the spaces that are open all the way through the building aren't going to have a single leaf on the trees. Wind tunnel anyone? The general idea is neat, but overall it seems like the ideas that make it interesting and unique are the most flawed.
  21. Have you looked at aftermarket gear selectors? A lot of them are ricey, but some are classy. At the prices those 300m selectors are going for, if I found one, I'd be tempted to sell it instead of keep it (that is, if I were looking for one in the first place... I might have to try to remember to keep an eye out! lol)
  22. Wow, replacing 7 engines. Hope it proves reliable!
  23. IMO, yes. The two cars appeal to some pretty different people, largely due to vette pricing and image. I could maybe see a C7 that is designed to allow for a less expensive entry model, yet without sacrificing the ability to make the top model a true screaming sports car. It's tough, though, to design a platform that can reach both ends of the spectrum well. It also could potentially dilute the Corvette name if the entry model was $25k, when the current entry model is a hair under $50k. IMO, a smaller RWD coupe/vert that spans from sub-$25k to about $40k for an SS, plus the vette spanning from $50k on up is much easier to do, and maintains the image of the vette. I'm guess of course, but I would be surprised if they could (or would want to) make a C7 base start much under $35-40k, which still would not appeal to the same people that the Sky/Solstice does. Another thought: if they make it a Chevy, they should change the name of course... and with a new name, a targa/coupe wouldn't seem quite so unfitting.
  24. Man, you guys back east have to pay for a ton of stuff that's all free out here. Granted, it's not an ocean boat launch, but I've never seen a boat launch in a reservoir around here that wasn't just open & free. Of course we also have 12 million acres of public land.
  25. yeah... that's the best!
