  1. What the heck is this thing? It's a neat rear hatch design, but what is the point of this thing that goes down the back of the car? *edit* ok, apparently it's a bench. That's fine & all, but I don't see a need for the place for your feet - especially when different people are different heights. Doesn't even look that comfy.
  2. also keep in mind... someone's (some GM brand) gotta have a minivan that actually looks like a minivan - that market isn't going to just vanish.
  3. both look really good. I see the wood trim on this Aura interior seems to line up better than some of the other pix we've seen.
  4. Slim the C-pillar and do something about the line where the panels meet that suddenly ends at the door, and it looks great... except I haven't noticed any pix of the rear end...
  5. berry red looks bleh. Need a more bold red option. needs a more regular white option. I'm not a fan of these creamy-looking white colors some cars are using these days. Gimme a bright white any day. rest of the colors look ok, I guess.
  6. looks like a boring version of the Corolla.
  7. That's another thing... people who go out & buy another more efficient car. It's gonna have to be waaay more efficient (along the lines of when I replaced my '90 Grand Marquis (15 mpg) with my Saturn (30+ mpg)) to be worth it. Otherwise, the purchase falls into the same problem as most of the hybrids - it will never pay for itself, and you would have been better off to stick with what ya had. Of course, that's just looking at it from a fuel cost standpoint, and a new vehicle purchase could also contribute toward safety, comfort, meeting transportation needs, reliability...
  8. Thing is, if people really used less fuel and conserved, then they'd just produce less and charge the same or, even more likely, more money. The only true way to overcome powerful suppliers of a basic item like oil is to find/create alternatives to using that item, like ethanol, hydrogen, etc. Then, if you switch entirely to that new item, you fall into the same problem, because someone's going to control that commodity and they're going to make money hand over fist.
  9. I think he was referring to the passenger temperature control knob that's half-missing in this pic:
  10. what's with the long skinny sunroof? I would think that would just be annoying. I have a sunroof in my car, and I have to cover it much of mid-day so the sunlight doesn't mess with me through my periferal (sp?) vision. Or is it super-tinted? Just seems like a novelty rather than something that would have much function.
  11. ...just catching up with the rest of the world...
  12. looks classy/sporty, and the tails are pretty unique & cool. I like it. Probably wouldn't buy one, but I like it.
  13. If it's just the edge, and not the assembly, then how can it turn on a central axis? IMO: rim = metal part tire = rubber part wheel = assembly of rim and tire
  14. +1 - Needs better wheels with fewer spokes. Only way you'd convince me those are the right wheels for me is if you tell me they're uber-light while staying very strong. Even then, I wouldn't like the look, just the performance implications.
  15. Why would I specifically? I wouldn't - I have no interest in VW. Why would the average consumer? Because the average consumer doesn't care that much.
  16. Well, yeah! Just saying, I don't think the Green Line drivetrain will be availiable with the Red Line body kit. You *might* however be able to get the body kit from the dealer. I'm pretty sure that was possible with the previous style Vue & Vue Red Line. Of course, that might depend on whether there are any special air intakes or whatnot on the Vue Green Line.
  17. I've been known to use my knee for 10-15 seconds tops while doing something like changing a CD, but I generally like to keep my hands on the wheel.
  18. 150 hp could be pretty spirited... if the car weighs less than 2500 lbs. Does it? I seriously don't know... *shrug* It's not about hp, it's about the hp / weight ratio.
  19. I do 10-2 when I expect to make turns, and 6 on the interstate when I'm just going to be sitting there and not likely to turn the wheel more than a few degrees for very long periods of time. Just be glad I'm not using my knee on the interstate.
  20. I think a lot of NA people are used to ignoring Opel since they can't buy the products. Soon they will be able to get some of them...
  21. The Green Line Vue has it's own unique lower facia. It's not terribly different from the standard Vue's, though, so it's easy to miss.
  22. Actually, from what they said the only 4 cyl version will have the 2.4L, but it won't be the base engine - it will be the Green Line hybrid model. Though maybe that will still price below the V6? That'd be cool... THAT'S economy! I hate the 3-spoke steering wheel. It looks awesome, but I like to hold the steering wheel at the 6-oclock position, so the 3rd spoke gets in the way and is REALLY uncomfortable.
  23. Shouldn't that be in like cheeseburgers per mile or something? I mean, it does take fuel... I should get out my old one & work it over. It's probably got rusted... well, everything by now, and I know it needs new tubes & probably tires.
  24. I don't think I had seen an interior shot of the Buick before - beautiful! They have done a great job of differentiating the two, and they made the Buick more elegant, which is how it should be. Interestingly enough, though, the Buick's headlights look more like the current Opel style than the Saturn's. *shrug* That's fine - both look great and I think will fit in perfectly where they're slated to go.
  25. I'm noticing on these new Saturns... so much for piano black center treatment.
