I got the 4870 used for 120 bucks, which is a really good deal my way. A new 4890 would have been about 50 bucks more, and it would've been overkill for my uses.

Well, I ran Prime 95 and stressed the CPU at stock speed for a few hours, and it didn't even break 40 Celsius, so things should be ok. I also moved the 4870 down a slot, and that has cooled things down a little.

In Canada, we have cold bitter weather, Bryan Adams, live in igloos, rely on sap from trees as our only sustenance during the winter, Celine Dion and the French. You'd think Toyota would realize that we've suffered enough already without Scions.

He'll be back in the swing of things once it blows over, because the PGA needs him. I'm more of a Phil Mickelson guy, but Tiger has a ton of fans and plenty of people aspire to be like him. Without him in the game, there'll be fewer viewers, less advertising, and smaller purses. Kind of a shame in a way, because there's plenty of cool golfers like Sam Snead and Vijay Singh who don't/didn't(Snead) get the mass attention like Tiger does. Still, I'm surprised about the extent of the situation. Of course, at least two of the chicks he's nailed are total attention whores and are playing it all up.

I've bookmarked the topic where Reuss drops hints about the Z28, and such. When all this RWD stuff goes on the rocks again, and people start posting about how much they don't like Reuss, I'm going to paste a link to it because I know they'll be the same people who were rejoicing the man's placement. People did it to Fritz, and I'm sure it'll happen to Reuss. Hopefully, it won't. GM did that with the G8. The quality was fantastic, the styling was nice and it had a V8. However, not only a few months ago up my way, they were giving 6.5K cash on the hood of a G8 GT. Now, you can still nab a G8 GT for $4500 off. GM built a fantastic car for enthusiasts, and it didn't exactly turn out too well. I'd rather GM spend their time making class beating family sedans, and hauler's instead of looking at another large foray into 'for-the-masses' RWD that isn't a halo car like the Camaro.

So far, so good it seems. My CPU is idling at 32 degrees with an aftermarket cooler, which I'm not sure is that good, though. I'll have to wait and see how things pan out.

That's good to know. If I get any trouble with tweaks, I'll know someone else who might be able to help. I'm looking to just flick the multiplier up until I get a decent overclock without extra voltage for the moment.

Aw man, if those were posted just a couple days ago, I would've snagged them. Oh well, I got a set of 1333 G.Skill Ripjaws at 7-7-7-21 timings that run at 1.5v/1.65'ish.

For those of you who use Steam, you'll be able to see if any of your buddies from these parts are online, so you can then proceed to set them on fire or blow their brains out!

What's the battery life on that monster? It'd probably even give the thing I'm building a run for its money lol.

LOL!!! And I thought MY board was overkill. What cards would even be compatible in that setup?! Well, at least it isn't too much of a change from my 790FX version . It's actually very similar save for the USB 3.0 and SATA-6. Even the phase design is the same, so that likely means I'm in good shape; I was worried that I might have some issues with only 'five' phases to the CPU in regards to overclocking. Some good news is that I spied in the family email inbox that my brothers purchased me an SSD for Christmas. So now I have two. Lucky me.

I decided against nabbing a Raptor after doing quite a bit of research. Instead, the SSD will suffice for the short-term because my needs are pretty modest.

I still think you should stick with the 4th Gen if you gotta have a Firebird. In the future, your wallet will thank you.

Say what you want, but I think this car has the potential to be a hit for General Motors. The current set of small ugly cars like the Scion's, and Soul seem to sell pretty decently. Fuel economy and price are what help to sell these, and people my age tend to be enamored with these sorts of vehicles. I bet the word 'cute' will be thrown around a lot at the dealership by ladies between the ages of 16 and 25. Hell, it seems almost every girl I've met loves the Smart, because it's small and cheerful; the Spark will be in the same boat. As for luggage and groceries, once againm this car is targeted at us twenty-somethings who are just commuting from home to school to work and won't be embarking on many excursions. There's also plenty of space to stash a good deal of groceries and goods; I've stashed my share of groceries into Mini's and Yaris' when I was a grocery clerk, and I don't recall ever having problems with finding space to put bags and boxes. GM needs this car out. While people may ridicule it today, when gas prices kick it up a few notches, people will be singing its praises.

A less stuffy dress code is among GM's changes

As long as they don't go all Steve Jobs on us and start wearing turtlenecks and skinny jeans, I guess it's OK. -

I still think this system is really not worth it. I know I can only refer to gaming communities, but people can get upset over rep points, and I don't think they're really fair. -
Absolutely! I have my music and files on a network drive, this is primarily for gaming. Hello 15 second boot-ups! Wowee, now I've scored a 160 dollar case for 90 locally! This Phenom II system with an SSD is going to end up being substanially cheaper than that old Athlon X2 5200+ system from two years ago. Edit: Here's the Raptor I'm talking about: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/buy-sell-trade/26046-raptor-150-fs.html I'm a bit on edge as to whether or not to grab it. It's 85 bucks, and would store games, with the SSD as an OS drive. Any experiences? Here's another possibility: http://cgi.ebay.com/10kRPM-VELOCIRAPTOR-WD1600HLFS-160GB-WD-160HLFS-160_W0QQitemZ280424858563QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item414a9fc3c3#ht_4949wt_1082 I wish Capriceman were around. He knows his stuff.

A shipping route that has broken the time/space continuum? Who's shipping that for you? I'm using them next time. I bagged me a 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD for 109.99 which is pretty damn swell, so that'll easily tide me over until some price drops come in the new year.
