  1. IT REALLY WORKS! THE SCHTICKY WORKS! MY WHOLE LIFE IS GOING TO CHANGE!
  2. Interesting theory. I could see Buick actually appealing to upper/mid-wealth customers that lean green. Lexus' hybrid offerings in that price range are quite unappealing to look at, whereas Buick's designs are thoroughly European. Presenting the brand as the home of green, Euro-lux/sport vehicles would be a neat approach.
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. If he makes it run on Bio-Diesel from McDonalds grease, then I love it. Otherwise, I'm a little upset he's doing this after pressing for major fuel economy and emissions targets. Still awesome, though. I want one!
  5. Fortunately for me, I got the third one, 'reasonable person.' And my perseverance paid off, I think: http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/79849-vehicle-buell-1125cr-2009/
  6. Name: Buell 1125CR (2009) Date Added: 01 September 2012 - 09:44 AM Owner: Pervez Musharrfap Short Description: Hydraulic clutch is slightly weepy but that'll be fixed in due time. View Vehicle __ *I'll have better images when (if) I manage to crank out a review in the fall.* This bike is amazing. It's powered by a liquid-cooled V-Twin by Rotax built specifically for Buell. The 'pods' at the side serve to route air to the radiator. The powerband is smooth and controlled, unlike some inline-4 bikes that are peaky and require revving to ~11K rpm to move. Riding this is an adjustment from the Blast. The seating position is more forward, although I can sit quite upright. I'll likely drop the pegs about an inch to give me a little more legroom but so far, I haven't had cramps. If you notice in the first picture, there's a 'snail trail' of fluid on the circular plate, above the exhaust. That is DOT-4 braking fluid, which is what the clutch uses for lubrication. These bikes are susceptible to leaking there so I'll need to buy a new slave cylinder, which isn't too bad to install. The old owner didn't ride it for a long time, so the O-Rings likely dried out and caused this to happen. But I'll still do the proper fix anyway. Other than that, this bike is a hoot. Whether going slow around curves or 60mph down a highway, it'll put a big smile on your face! It's certainly capable of going fast down a track, but I'm babying it until I get used to the power and its prowess. It's a pretty uncommon vehicle too. I've had nearly a dozen people in the past two days ask about it. Other people just point and wonder why Batman is getting coffee at Tim Hortons.

  8. Old new. It's an '09 with a hair over 10K miles, and still incredibly clean.
  9. Your font has changed for some reason. At least Safari didn't enable its 'hipster' mode that makes everything Helvetica or the podcast crew would have to kill you.
  10. Well I'll be getting my grubby mitts on a new bike. Pics in a day or two.
  11. Great! Windows 7 runs perfectly on MacBook Air's!
  12. I understand KBB isn't the bible. But I live in a market with a lot of used motorcycles, and the recession has caused dealers to cut prices on new models or even go out of business. So used sellers should realize that their machine isn't worth a whole lot. What I'm looking for isn't vintage or collectable. For example: http://vancouver.en....3221267301.html - This is obscenely expensive compared to the KBB value of $3,195. Heck, the Canadian MSRP is $4,999!! Or, http://www.usedvicto...-Green_17955976 - Again, KBB value is $3,105. The addition of the 'Power Commander' and exhaust means that the FI system has been remapped, not to mention all the stuff on it for the purposes of going fast. Once that's factored in, offering $3,200 is reasonable, in my opinion. What he's asking is what a three year old bike is worth; not one that's nearly ten. Or, http://vancouver.en....3233029167.html - KBB value puts it at $2,785. I like Buell's, but this particular year had issues with its drive-belts and some fuelling problems. First model year glitches and whatnot. The mods done to the bike do little to enhance performance, and instead just produce more noise. And let's just ignore the blue lights. The lowest the seller would go is 4K... Get the f*ck outta here with 'dat bo' $h!. That's a ten year old bike that belongs to a dead brand. What we have is a disconnect. All I'm doing is providing information that the seller should have considered beforehand.
  13. Is there no way to potentially buy the vehicle, with certain provisions in place? There must be someone at C&G who could contact the appropriate people and arrange something?
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. I want to know how not to be a dick when dealing with people selling used motorcycles. This is all private sales; no dealerships. The problem is that their price is often too high when Kelley Blue Book and mileage values are factored in. I'm reasonable but when you have bikes that are nearly ten years old, being priced as if they're three years old, that's either being obnoxious or showing no research whatsoever. So when I send an offer, I provide a link to the KBB website, as well as links to other classified ads in nearby cities of the same bike or one that's similar. Also, I've included links to sales threads on forums devoted to the particular bike brand or model. I think I'm being polite. I say 'Hello,' and I state in the first line what my offer is. The second line has the aforementioned links to show why I feel my offer is fair. Then I ask any questions I may have and finish everything off politely. I've been called a lowballer twice, one person said I'm a cheapskate, and one guy, using his real name and contact info, told me to eat a bag of dicks. My approach is pretty normal for most Buy/Sell things when it comes to electronics and computer parts. Am I doing something wrong?
  16. 100th replay this week. Total of 1,984 since bearing witness to its awesomeness.
  17. LOOLOL! Nothing says 'Buy General Motors' like an Olds B-body in the front window!
  18. Thanks to the power of MAGNETS!
  19. The Transit Connect is designed to have seats right from the factory. The Ute isn't, meaning more money would have to be spent just developing a proper set of seats, safety equipment and an assembly process. This is an already pricey vehicle and I doubt its target audience will spend north of 35K to buy it. And then even more cash to have the dealer take off the installed equipment. Who really wants to buy a vehicle that needs to be 'fixed' when it's at the dealer? This isn't a question of beancounting. Nobody in any business would in their right mind allow this. Especially GM, which was bailed out and has a legion of naysayers out to find any excuse to chastise the company. Those people would have a field day.
  20. So people would have to buy a Ute with useless seats occupying the box. Then they'd have to remove the seats, remove the fixtures and buy a custom bed-liner that would accommodate for the modifications made? I guess a spray-on liner would be OK, but then wouldn't you have holes where the seat rail bolts are? I'm sure there's a huge market for that.
  21. Thanks guys! It was a fappy birthday, although realizing I've lived for a quarter of a century is humbling.
  22. So you can give a promising American company 150 million dollars which is a drop in the bucket. Or you can let them get bought out/funded by China, taking your intellectual capital and engineering expertise along with local jobs back across the Pacific. Your choice, America. Nevermind, America's made its mind up.
  23. Seriously? Forbes allows for 'citizen journalism' to be posted on its website? What garbage. Of course, the first sentence is factually incorrect as it was Bush that signed TARP in the first place. Why is Obama mentioned front and centre? Hmm. Also, he has neglected to mention any of GM's other vehicles, including the Sonic and Cruze which are top-selling vehicles. All in all. This guy is an idiot and regular people shouldn't be allowed to post their whiny, unresearched bull$h! on a reputed publication's website like Forbes. $h!izen journalism, indeed.
  24. I'm interested to see how well they do. Honda's in a precarious position of potentially having its brand new product being a generation behind the competition.
  25. Whoever can do this on a wide-scale could become rich. I'd love to cut out the middle-man and order a vehicle online, only to see it a couple days later. A flat rate for each trim line, all with the same options could make things less expensive.
