    Kia UVO

Very ingenious of KIA to mimic a majority of OnStar services without the additional fee & cell-network of GM's service. I think GM should take notice of this and find a way to bring down their cost, or at least offer an OnStar-lite that competes with UVO's 'free' functionality. @Mudmonster: Were there any instances of latency during transitions or functions at all? If no, then that's actually quite impressive on Microsoft and KIA's part, as the CPU is merely a 400MHz ARM chip with similar specifications as the first generation Ford Sync system. Ford's new MyTouch system has a more powerful chip, yet has an awful user experience and Cadillac's CUE has a more modern triple-core CPU, yet it still exhibits latency and hangs.
  2. Yeah, I'm from Vancouver. As far as I know, there's just one other guy in our city's regional district with the same bike. There are some higher displacement bikes with lower weights. For example, Suzuki's dual sport DRZ400 is 319lbs when gassed up, whereas an '08 - '12 Ninja 250R is 375lbs with the tank full. I learned on a Buell Blast which is a 500, that weighed a hair under 400 pounds. Despite the slightly heavier weight, I was sold on the Blast's comfortable seating position (for me) as opposed to the Ninja 250's. I felt a safer with the more upright seating position. All I can recommend is that people ought to buy the bike that they feel safe and comfortable on. When you get it down to three models, then you can start looking at the more superficial qualities, such as how long you intend to own the bike, how it fits your commute, etc. In your case, a 250 sounds like a solid decision. Many people buy 250's and then immediately look for something bigger. But your weight may be an advantage, as you'll likely find the bike to be plenty for your needs for a couple seasons.
  3. I got the Buell because I've always had a soft-spot for the brand. I did test some older 600's that my friends had, and an R1. All of them are technically better than my bike. The Buell competes a little more against the likes of Ducati's Monster line and the Triumph Triple. They're more urban, backalley streetfighters than they are track-oriented powerhouses, like the R1 and ZX-10 are. Besides my love of the 'oddballness' of the brand, the 1125CR has killer looks that no other bike matches. It's the kind of bike that people who have no idea about motorcycles will stop and stare at. I had a 92 year old man talk my ear off about how it reminded him of his old bike from the 30's, before he was sent off to WWII. I've had others say that it's more work of art than machine. There's something beautiful about an object that stirs people's imagination in these ways. Essentially, it was my dream bike because of the general rarity and the looks. Performance is good, but even an R6 will likely take it down in the straights. I'll have a more comprehensive review when I'm less burdened with work. Starting on a 250 isn't a bad idea but I learned on a 500 single. People focus on displacement, but neglect weight and centre of gravity. If you can find a bike that's easy to handle and you feel safe on, having a higher displacement isn't a big negative. In fact, knowing you have the extra power means you become more judicious about using the throttle. Just my toonie's worth.
  4. This is so maddening I can't even remember how to rig the forum software code to autoplay embedded YouTube videos intended to make fun of this hilariously bad idea!
  5. Hence why iPhone people have to ask me for directions to the nearest garbage can.
  6. Oh please. I read this statement all over the Internet but the only thing people do when they see me using my Note for a voice call is ask me where they can get one for themselves, and where the nearest garbage can is so they can dispose of their iPhone. Also the Apple ecosystem is great until you have to do work. Multitasking on iOS is comically horrendous. iOS is about extra steps. My phone lets me run two windows, take a call and write down information, all simultaneously. BUT IT LUKS FUNNEH AGAINST MY EARZ HUE HUE HUE
  7. The Note III is pretty nice, but I don't think it's the revelation that the Note II was. That's why I'll probably be sticking with mine for at least another year or so. I just hope Samsung delivers the Android 4.3 update to speed some things up, sometime soon.
  8. My next laptop will likely be a MacBook Air, providing Apple puts in a higher resolution display. So much of my work is based in Google's cloud so I can be OS agnostic. I can't argue with 12+ hour battery life with basic usage.
  9. 10/10 WILL READ AGAIN
  10. I find the Samsung plastic gripes to be true, albeit overblown. A good chunk of phones end up in cases. The iPhone is arguably the best feeling phone, yet almost every one that comes across my desk is in a case.
  11. The Cue system can be updated at anytime that there is software updates whether it be 2 years or 6 years. Thats the beauty of the infotainment system!! That's all well and good, but the internal hardware becomes more stressed with each update. You can install iOS 6 onto an iPad 2 but it makes everything slow and horrible to use.
  12. This should be the right link: http://www.panotur.com/camaro-transformers-4-bumblebee-wallpaper-857.html
  13. Those names all belong on retirement lodges.
  14. "Work Hard. Be Lucky." sounds like something I read in a fortune cookie. Dear Cadillac: Try Harder. Don't Sucky.
  15. Fappy Birthday!
  16. A year down the line and so far, this bike is responsible for at least 26 different women lifting up their crop tops when I pass by. This almost matches my normal count when I'm just walking on the street. Year-long review to follow when I feels like it.
  17. A three-door SRX to take on the RR Evoque would be very cool!

    Pictures!

I represent the local po-po and do communications in media, so I can't have terribly long hair. As much I liked the long hair, I think I'm happy with it shorter.
  19. Welcome. And because I'm an immature douchebag, this is a perfect opportunity to post hastily made tourism videos about Cleveland! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZzgAjjuqZM
  20. I'll have to disagree. V-Series is a recognized brand and BMW trades on the M moniker for an appearance package, just like Mercedes has the 'AMG Styling Package' on certain models. People covet these packages, often for their looks and the association with high-performance models. I think it'd be a bad move to call the VSport anything else.
  21. I'm in the same boat. Maybe its the colour, but that single cab GMC in the first post looks really weird. As if they decided to strap on extra bulk/sheetmetal to compete against Ford & Dodge, circa 2005. It's like GM decided to make this truck generation undesirable in nearly every way. Why someone would purchase one of these over a Ram or even a Ford is a bit of a headscratcher.
  22. Thanks dudes! 26 years on the planet and 8 of them on this forum! Good times!
  23. Using this criterion, the Cadillac El-whateversomethingstupidname is not worth caring about either.
  24. But the Cheers & Gears told me electric cars are face-melting death traps and are as safe as golf carts.
