  1. I don't understand masochism or nostalgia. I also don't understand why a brand that brought us the Aztek, G3 and G6 GXP can still have fans. Pontiac lived on a reputation that it never even had since the 80's. Pontiac still manages to 'live' because people somehow buy the idea that GM would've actually made it a 'performance brand' had it continued post BK. Time and time again, we've seen that GM had no intention of making the brand anything more than Chevrolet's with red gauges, something they even stopped caring about with the G5. Lutz is full of himself. He's merely stoking a reliable fire because he knows that 'car guys' will listen to him and buy his books if he keeps saying what they want to hear.
  2. Pontiac had no marketable brand cachet to sell 'evolved or focused' cars successfully. When people think Pontiac, they think Hertz or Gramma's Grand Am.
  3. It's been the top-selling crossover in Canada for the past several years.
  4. TIME TO WIPE. It's the day of the Super Bowel. FIBER, MORE FIBER. BAKED BEANS.
  5. On Tumblr? Have affluenza? Then please skip school.
  6. I keep it in the washroom for when I have indigestion. Everybody needs a helping hand,.
  7. = Won in an ejaculating distance contest with Ed Koch and Fiona Apple.
  8. +1. They're worth the minimal cash many times over. I've seen enough people try to put a pipe over a ratchet handle and have things go wrong. According to Wikipedia, no. Mostly Mexico and China.

  10. Access to torque wrenches is something I recommend. It's easy to shrug off torquing but it only takes a little extra time and can save headaches in the future. A 1/2" Harbour Freight torque wrench will be fine for lug nuts but you'll want to spend a little more dough on 3/8" and 1/4" ones. Craftsman clicker models seem pretty good. Opinions on brands are all over the place. I've heard people complain about one brand while being happy with another, despite the fact that both brands source from the same manufacturer. For example: Apex Tools - Bain Capital - Craftsman - Kobalt (Lowes) - Husky (Home Depot) - Mastercraft (Canadian Tire) My neighbour busted a ratchet from the Canadian Tire brand 'Mastercraft.' He returned it, swore not to buy from them again and went and bought a nearly-identical Husky product from Home Depot. He swears by Husky now. It's best to just shop for the best price and from a retailer with a good return policy. You'll get people claiming you need to buy 'MURRICAN' and from expensive brands like Snap-On, MAC and Matco, but unless you're actually a mechanic, it's not necessary. I started mechanics with a heavily discounted Stanley socket set, an extra ratchet and basic wrenches. Mind you, this is motorcycle mechanics but the principles remain the same. Garagejournal is sometimes a good place to research but I don't care for the conversation. I think most of those guys spend more time polishing their tools than they do using them.
  11. Please explain how we're more 'entitled' than any generation before us? Methinks you're like every other 40-something who's been manipulated by corporate America and governments to regurgitate the word 'entitled' to browbeat our generation in order to further their interests of reducing our wages and voting capacity. This only works if you're upper-middle class, own cars and live with your parents. Young people who come from families without cars end up subsidizing the wealthy ones. It also means that wealthy kids will have more opportunities for careers while poor ones can't go anywhere outside of a 500m radius of a bus stop. Also, I thought living at home didn't build character? I thought leveraging your parents made you entitled? Which is it?
  12. Moving the goal posts again. And a strawman on each one too! This isn't about stupidity. It's about priorities. Why not give people more interested in their gadgets the ability to own a self-driving car? They'll make the road safer for people like you who want to drive normally and save law-enforcement agencies a lot of hassle. Driving sucks for the 80% of the population that inhabit metropolitan areas. Why should I waste my time in gridlock when an automated vehicle can let me be productive on the way to work or have a nap on the way back home?
  13. Spoken like an old white guy who had grew up in a suburban home with a driveway and garage during a time where wages were good, inflation didn't kick our ass and C's got degrees.
  14. So first cars are: Which is true but in your world, 'personal transportation' requires being stuck in gridlock, being late for work and having stressful commutes. When you've had your first bad argument debunked, you do a 180 and say: Which only a few people agree with. Based on sales-figure posts in this forum and sales of midsize sedans everywhere, yours is a minority opinion. Just an opinion, not fact. But that doesn't stop you from moving the goalposts again: So now, according to you, cars are meant to be expensive toys that tug on the heartstrings of exceedingly wealthy balding males who want a hopped-up pony car that doesn't even have A/C. What exactly is the problem? Aside from your overtly nonsensical dislike of anyone who thinks outside of your narrow worldview of what a car is or can be.
  15. No they don't. Self-driving vehicles enhance the very ideals and engineering goals of personal transportation: effortlessness, comfort and safety. For a majority of people, including myself the purpose of the automobile is solely for: Self-driving cars don't fit your purpose of car ownership which is the entertainment value of driving. Why should I be relegated to a train or bus because I don't share that mindset? Maybe be more open-minded and accept the idea that there are people out there who want a vehicle that drives itself and should get one. It won't impact you in any way, so why get upset about it? Proof it isn't only millenials who are the 'spoiled' ones.
  16. So you're against safe driving and the ability to be productive or relax outside of the office? And you believe your notion of 'driving' is somehow better? If you want to have a conventional vehicle that requires you to gaze at gridlock for two hours in each direction, while hating everyone else, then more power to you. Just don't impose that idea on those of us who'd prefer to have self-driving vehicles. I think you're the spoiled one here. Not us. You.
  17. '21st Century' means copying a vehicle from 50 years ago and having a lousy interior to match? That's bad. For 250K? That's terrible. Take this pony out back.
  18. Minus me all you want, you'll never stop the clop.
  19. Can't make background pink. + Can't make foreground baby blue. = No Twilight Sparkle theme + Circle avatars surrounded by square everything else = 0/10. Nopony will like this.
  20. BUT CHEERS AND GEARS TOLD ME THAT ONLY ELECTRIC CARS CATCH FIRE FOR NO REASON!
  21. >implying AMD has 'technology.'
