  1. Might be for a couple reasons... One... he MAY have owned a GM at one time and something didn't work out too well... Two... GM is still Number One. Therefore, it makes easier to hit and criticize them. If you're number one, you are going to take the flack. (McDonalds always catching hell for fat kids despite the fact that it's oils are healthier and has a more nutritious menu than Burger King or KFC and yet those two rarely catch hell) and Three... He might be preaching to the choir. He may have a good idea of the demographic that reads his columns. They may likely be import drivers or not drive large SUV's... Instead of upsetting the readership, he keeps them happy, they keep reading, he keeps his job.
  2. This is the type of free press Canadians and North American's are fighting overseas for? Honestly, describing GM as a "Crack Dealer" seems more offensive than refuting Friedman's arguments as rubbish. And giving GM only 200 words? That is totally ineffective for a rebuttal and could furthur make GM look foolish. Either the entire editorial board agrees with Friedman, or they are worried that the readership may decline once they get the other side of the story. Despite the opinions posted on this page, the NY Times is generally regarded as a model of journalistic integrity and good, fair reporting. But their actions against GM fly in the face of that integrity.
  3. I love the Kimono interior design... Lesson for Toyota. Don't try for "passion" because you ain't going to pull it off.
  4. Letting Isuzu design the trucks?.. ...you'd think GM would've learned their lesson after the Canyon/Colorado.
  5. If you buy it, would the person on OnStar call you Batman? I'd buy it just for that. :)
  6. Weird that many people who are left homeless, without clean water and lacking in food and fuel get the idea of having beer and porno evenings... Then again, I guess they had to put those stolen new HDTV's through their paces.
  7. Love the Sammy Hagar "Red" quote. The car looks great too. Personally, If I had a car like that I'd have it painted White "Diamond" as per my Van Halen lead singer leaning.
  8. Oh boy... what do you want to bet that in a couple years Hummer will introduce two new vehicles which are front wheel drive biased with an AWD option and based off of the Epsilon II Frame. Both models will not be able to tackle the terrain that Hummer is known for. However, GM states that the more rugged looking model will offer a little more off road capability...
  9. Did somebody say "Acura RL" ?... Apparently the "Super Handling All Wheel Drive" isn't so super either.

    ....

Not a bad idea. But we'll let the 3rd party mods keep the Katherine Hepburn nostril hood.

pushr0ds r t3h shizn@t As mentioned before, the exterior design is subjective... but personally, it looks kinda overwrought, as if it's appealing to the Dodge Ram crowd. I think I'll stick with getting an Avalanche.
  12. Buddy, you got Mormons confused with the Keebler Elves.

That wouldn't explain all the V8 HEMI Magnum's I see carting kids to the field and elementary school near my house. I think if GM does a good job with the V8 in an AWD or even FWD setup, it'll give Dad a reason to get it over a Sienna. A guy at work who is a father is looking at a Magnum R/T as well, and one of the reasons is because the HEMI will let him tool around with it a bit more, and give him plenty of cargo space, but also because he is sick and tired of his kids getting confused as to which Toyota Sienna in the Hockey Rink's parking lot is theirs (no joke ) .
  15. We should take a vote and decide how he destroys it.
  16. And maybe grab a V-Tec and Mugen sticker while you're at it.

I wonder, would the vans have a V8 option? You never know, it may appeal to the men who'll likely drive the van's. Or even give them some towing/hauling advantage. But then again, Lambda is FWD.
  18. Gimme a break, everybody KNOWS that Richard Wagoner can take Chuck Norris' roundhouse kick in the face, not even flinch and point his finger at Chuck Norris and make Chuck self-combust.
  19. Wagoner Steals Old Lawnmowers From Old People... ... Old People With Diseases... But still, he's doing a pretty alright job.

Or you could look at it the way I do and figure that no one wants a wagon with an ugly mug that packs a weak CVT governed engine... Oh well, there'll be the SRT-4.

  22. A 9-2 on the Cobalt Delta platform? I dunno, but I don't see it happening. I know Volvo is coming out with that little C30, but that's based on the Focus/Mazda3 frame, which is very sporty and class leading. I wouldn't go so far as to calling the Cavalier, I mean, Cobalt frame, class leading, and I doubt that many people would put money down on a Cobalt with a centre mounted ignition, and stacked air vents. That money would be better spend on upgrading the Cobalt.
  23. Jesus... tap...dancing... Christ...
  24. Too bad for the person who put a deposit on a brand spanking new Chery.
  25. I dunno. SAAB people like their vehicles front-wheel drive.
