Just read it on Motor Trend at lunch time, pretty cool read. I really like Raptor but it is huge and I think out of the three I would personally go with the Colorado. Seems the right size, and it has the hardware. Probably diesel would be a better option indeed. Motor Trend Results are there: 3.Raptor 2.Colorado 1.Ram

Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) and Mazda Motor Corp (7261.T) plan to build a $1.6 billion U.S. assembly plant, the two said on Friday, as part of an alliance that will also see the Japanese automakers jointly develop electric vehicle technologies. The two will take small stakes in each other as part of the tie-up: Toyota, the world's second-largest automaker by vehicle sales last year, will take a 5 percent share of Mazda, extending its dominance in Japan's auto sector. Mazda will take a 0.25 percent share of its larger rival. The plant, something of a surprise at a time of overcapacity in the U.S. market, will be a boost to U.S. President Donald Trump, who campaigned on promises to increase manufacturing and expand employment for American autoworkers. The plant will be capable of producing 300,000 vehicles a year, with production divided between the two automakers, and employ about 4,000 people. It will start operating in 2021. Reuters

How many of you guys arguing that CUV's are just for "image" and they are "pointless" and you can fit everything in the sedan have small kids? I know plenty of people who used to drive sedans and converted to CUV's because there is no comparison on usefulness and utility. Take Honda Accord and CR-V for example, it is not even close how much more useful space you get in CR-V. I am a car enthusiast and I am driving and will be driving sedans for most likely my whole life. I value the better driving dynamics, in some cases fuel efficiency etc, etc etc. However, as a family vehicle I want an CUV, at least for now while I have two small kids. We take family trips often and it would be so much harder if we had a sedan, even a full size sedan. The modern CUV's are getting pretty close in fuel efficiency to sedans and with respect to driving dynamics - most people don't really care as sad as it is.

Age Demographics: Car Brands with the oldest buyers
ykX replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Industry News
Yes, I agree. I wouldn't say @dfelt that most of VW are from poor areas, actually probably the opposite is true, more like middle class. But they are very conservative and reliability has been questionable, so most people I know that had VW, bought something else after that. -

I think VW currently has absolutely nothing that will attract younger crowd besides GTI, and even Golf looks very conservative. I think Buick looks more exciting then VW -
Interesting, the built and price of 2018 Mustang is active. Starting price of GT is $35095 and GT Premium $39095. However, if you add to both performance package and magneride damping, the price gap becomes very narrow: $43685 vs $45685

Can't wait to see the reviews. It is pretty high on my list of future family car replacement. Acadia is too small for our needs.

So few latest discussions gave me an idea for the following Dream/Reality garage: Pick the following cars that you would buy with YOUR own money if you were buying in the segment to be your daily driver: 1. compact car (sedan/hatch/wagon) 2. compact CUV/SUV 3. mid-size car 4. mid-size CUV/SUV 5. large car 6. large CUV/SUV

This will be great for families, especially families with teenagers. I have never been a big GM fan, but lately their vehicles look more and more attractive. I think in a few years when the time comes to replace our family car we will seriously consider Acadia or Traverse.

" The automaker announced an unlimited data plan for the 4G LTE system that turns its vehicles into mobile Wi-Fi hotspots. In the Chevrolet brand alone, more than 3.1 million vehicles have the capability that allows users to connect up to seven smartphones, tablets or other devices at a time, from distances up to 50 feet. Starting Friday, owners of 4G-capable Chevys, Cadillacs, GMCs and Buicks will be able to pay a flat $20 a month for the service. It's a change from current service plans for limited amounts of monthly data. At Chevrolet, the offers included a gigabyte for $10 a month, four gigs for $20 and 10 gigs for $40." https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2017/03/02/gm-offering-unlimited-data-plan-4g-mobile-hotspots/98659910/

@Frisky Dingo cars I used in previous Dream Garages

While, I absolutely agree with you, I think you misunderstood me or maybe I didn't present my idea very clearly. I meant, for example, there is no reason to buy Expedition for a family of three or four unless they have some special needs that require such large vehicle. For example my family: just few times a year we need a lot of space for a trip, either camping or some beach vacation which we drive to. Now, we could buy a large SUV to fit everything for these few trips but then we would have to drive huge vehicle all year around. I choose to have mid-size CUV, and to have a roof basket for the few times I do need extra space for cargo.
