  1. You can say what you want about the Lexus (and personally I really do not like their current design language) but for at least last 10 years Lexus is number one in reliability and number one in dealer service and experience. And I bet many people appreciate that.
  2. Actually out of all the minivans I think Chrysler did the best job. Pacifica looks very nice IMO.
  3. Same with the most crossovers or for that matter sedans nowdays
  4. My wife likes Lexus and in general would like one but when I showed this to her she said no, way too ugly.
  5. It is hideous, and looks like a mess. I think Highlander looks great compared to this and I think I would rather have loaded Highlander than this contraption if I had to choose. (Same V6 engine, same AWD system, etc).
  6. I would say it looks more like oversized Outback. The first drive posted on MT is favorable, but disappointing it has CVT. Will when more details will emerge.
  7. Pretty much everything is advertised "before taxes" in the US. All the prices are before taxes. In Europe on the other hand taxes are included in the advertised price in most countries. Now maybe we should get back to the car in question? I think it would look much more attractive with optional more powerful engine. Right now for $28.5k you can buy 2.5i Outback premium, which is bigger and have better awd system.
  8. Had a year old Hyundai Santa Fe Sport as rental on our family vacation last week. Did over 250 miles on highway and some city driving. Not a bad car even in the base form, good amount of space, large trunk. Base seats are just ok, not bad but not super comfortable either. Connecting and streaming music through Bluetooth was easy and worked well. Handling was decent but steering is very vague, to the point when it was hard to keep the car in lane, and I never had that problem in any car I have driven before. Steering totally killed it for me.
  9. @Frisky Dingo I am curious if you had a chance to drive Focus ST? How is it compared to GTI? Personally I like Focus RS, I think I would take it over the Golf R but if I were on the market for that kind of car I would need to do extensive test drive before making any conclusions and I haven't driven either,
  10. You said nobody ran Subaru on the 'Ring. That was just recent example but there were a number of them that ran. For example in 2011 production STi set record for a four door at 7:55 http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2010/06/2011-subaru-wrx-sti-sets-new-4-door-nurburgring-record-with-755-lap-time-video.html Nevertheless, the car is not measured purely by the 'Ring time. I hope ZR1 is fastest but for now it is just a preview, no reason to have a 10 page argument about something nobody knows for sure yet.
  11. "A Subaru WRX STI has just achieved the fastest lap for a four-door car around the Nurburgring, with a blistering six minute 57.5 seconds lap time. " http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/856582/Subaru-WRX-STI-Nurburgring-times-track-lap-fastest
  12. I thought you just turned 39, not 69?
  13. I bought last fall Michelin Premier for my wife's MDX. They are highly rated if not the highest rated all-season tire for crossovers. Found out that even the best all-season tire is not that great in icy conditions we get here in NJ. Great AWD system means nothing without appropriate tires. My friend saw last winter in New Hampshire Jeep almost go into the ditch and struggling getting up the mountain with all-season tires while his Outback with winter tires had no problem at all. I drive RWD car with summer tires and I have a set of rims with winter tires.
  14. Even in base form it is probably one of the most capable off-road vehicles on sale today. It is a niche vehicle that does one thing very well while just so-so everything else. Same thing as Miata (starting at $25.7k), or basic F-150 or Silverado work trucks that are around $28k. I drove rental Wrangler recently while on vacation, it was beat up to death but it is still was a lot of fun.
  15. I just saw one on the highway yesterday. I kind of like the front, but the side looks very boring to me and I didn't like the rear. Just my first impressions from the exterior.
  16. $27k 1. New: Mazda 6 Touring or Subaru Crosstrek Limited if I needed more utility/awd 2. Used: For $27k you can pick up lightly used 2016 Mustang GT premium, I think while not as special as Boss 302 it is actually faster and more livable with. I think Vette for this price will be around 2004 Z06, not sure I waant 15 year old car. $34k 1. New: Subaru WRX premium or Outback 3.6R premium if I needed space or Acura TLX if I needed comfortable daily driver 2. Used: Either nicest C5 Z06 I can find for the money or almost new Mustang GT premium or Chevy SS if I needed a sedan or CTS
  17. I always wanted '65 Mustang fastback body restomod with engine, brakes and suspension from the modern GT
  18. It is Subaru - usually their concepts and production models are not even close to each other.
  19. I disagree, they were not. My friend has Montero Sport, great truck
  20. I love it. I think Mazda has one of the, if not the most great looking designs currently on the market.
  21. These were far from crap (unfortunately most of their other product was)
  22. That's because you are the only one drives your truck If you had another family member driving it I am sure you would need the adjustment. Also, I am not sure about strip, but for autocross or track the seating position is not the same as street.
  23. So FCA is Italian controlled corporation with headquarters in London. Doesn't it make Chrysler and Jeep now foreign companies?
  24. The new one looks much sharper. Just like the new Traverse looks much better then the old ballooned one. Cool that you caught both of them in the same color.
