Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM

I can't get over the front headlights of the Rivian. Looks so goofy -
Especially with 2022 coming next year

Kind of funny, we have @David that thinks we all will be driving EVs in 5 years and @ocnblu that EVs are just a crackpot that never will catch on ... As always the truth is somewhere in between the extremes I suspect.

Care to actually put quotes from these OEMs? Porsche brought back manual because customers demanded it, Subaru just unveiled 2022 BRZ, so definitely not going to disappear by 2025. Nissan showed 400Z prototype and also said it will have manual. 2022 Civic type R will have manual as well. Next gen Mustang and Camaro is unknown. Also Ford added manual to top level Bronco because of the customer's demand.
-
People keep saying that manual transmission is dead yet new Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86, Miata, Porsche 911, Honda Civic Type R, Mustang and Camaro are still coming with manuals. All true enthusiast cars. Still plenty of people left who appreciate the experience.

You are not their target client

Try to reread what you just wrote ...

It seems you are the one that usually makes things personal if someone disagrees with your opinion. Going right away to name calling like an angry 12 year old (seems to me I told you that already once or twice ...). @ocnblu has his strong opinion about EVs in general and this particular BMW. No reason to make it personal if he disagrees with you. I do agree that BMW is not anymore "The Ultimate Driving machine", and hasn't been that in a long while. Now they are becoming the ultra techno company that makes ugly electronic high end appliances.

There is no quality ICE vehicle for $15k new But I think having a good EV in the $25-35k range will do the trick. -

The old MGB had a LOT of electrical issues. I am scared to think how many electrical issues will have FULLY electrical MG -

I am not sure how big will be battery of the EV F-150 but lets take Model 3 battery as an example. I believe base battery is 75kWh. It seems most popular DEWALT 12in miter saw draws 15A which means with 120V power supply it will require 1.8kW of power. Therefore 8 hours of CONTINUES use (which doesn't happen) will require 14.4kWh. Of course there are losses converting battery power to AC voltage and other issues like load on the miter saw, temperature and many more. However, in a nutshell it seems that even fully charged Model 3 can comfortably provide enough juice for a full day of work with different power tools and still get you home. I am assuming trucks will have a bigger battery. -

So 2020 will be officially last year for Shelby GT350. With GT500 and upcoming Mach 1 Ford stopping GT350 production. So pretty limited run to one of the greatest cars Ford ever produced. I predict in 15-20 years as EVs take over GT350 will become a collectible as one of the last greatest analog cars.

I had same reaction regarding Mach E, still do as a matter of fact. Despite that maybe I even buy it in 5 years.

@David My comment was in response to @balthazar critic that they used old nameplate for a new EV. It is no different of Ford using Mach nameplate for EV crossover.

Not just trucks, Chevy has discounts on SUVs as well. $2.5k on Traverse for example. So what is the big deal with Ford lowering price on Mache E to stay competitive. -
How is it different from Ford Mach E?

Currently out of about 160 employees in my company there is already 3 Tesla Model 3. I have seen few model Y already on the road, not many yet. I think maybe the manufacturing of model Y is still not up to full speed.
