I don't defend Anti-EVs. ocnblu is the only one who is unreasonably dislikes them and no one will change his opinion on the matter. Otherwise as far as I can see everyone else makes valid arguments for and against EVs.

Really, you still sulking about a downvote? I would never downvote anyone when there is a reasonable discussion going on, or even maybe not very reasonable but still polite. But when someone is name calling and cursing, that becomes a bummer.

Don't forget most new cars now come with active safety systems as standard. That's alone is easily extra $3-4k on top of everything else, and cars didn't have that before, it is a new technology that automatically bumped the average price.

That is perfectly understandable. And I absolutely agree with you that as of right now the options are very limited and very few EVs are in the affordable price range. My only issue is that NONE of the people who actively defend EVs and actively attack everyone who is anti-EV, none of them at this point of time OWN EV themselves and live with it. I would rather someone tell me from their experience how it was driving EV vehicle for example from NJ to Montreal or to Florida (I give these examples because my family did these trips number of times). I perfectly realize that EVs are the future, but I think we are still at least 8-10 years away from EVs being truly a fully viable option.

Are YOU willing to make these LITTLE compromises? When are you getting your EV? As of right now none of staunch proponents of EVs on this forum have an EV. My wife for example drives a hybrid vehicle, which is at this point of time is the most practical compromise. Personally, I will consider getting an EV as a commuter in 4-5 years when I will be shopping for my car. However, even in 4-5 years I don't see us having both EV vehicles.

The front looks on XT6 much better than on new Escalade. I wish they did sides look a little less boring.

Im just leaving it at that. (Normally that tidbit of info is very banal, but in this thread...it speaks VOLUMES...) My wife's commute is about 11-12 miles one way but my commute is over 40 miles one way. However, even with my commute any EV would be fine for commuting. Nevertheless, at this point to have both EV vehicles in the family would be simply impractical. We often take long trips for which today's EV will not be suitable. In regards to bike I think it is great for big cities. The fact that you simply can take out the battery and charge in your apartment is a great idea.

Saw brand new Escalade in grey. I have to say I really think it doesn't look proportioned right in the front. Not a fan.

Seems like BMW sold about as many X7 as XT6 and I have seen more of them.

Same issue at my work, when we are doing hardware, god forbid we need to do some changes, we need to get it right with no more than 2 iterations. However, apparently it is ok for software guys have twenty versions, constantly finding bugs. Seems software engineers work with different standards.

Not to me, much more enjoyable with stock. I really think the stock sounds awesome, not as loud as aftermarket but loud enough for me.

So recently found out why my Mustang was so loud. I realized that it was much louder than I remember from my test drive of a brand new one. Looked under and realized the exhaust was aftermarket. I guess a side effect of buying a car remotely. The dealer who sold me was a Chevrolet dealer and they claim they didn't know. It turns out it had Ford performance X-pipe, resonator delete and SLP straight pipes. It sounded great from outside but it actually hurt my ears and killed the fun of driving it. Had some bad resonance at low rpm. Also, I live in the development and I don't want my neighbors hating me. Luckily, plenty of young guys buy Mustangs, modify them and then sell OEM parts. Found almost brand new full exhaust for my car and today installed it. OMG so much better. Still great throaty sound, not nearly as loud but it is fine with me. I think Ford made one of the greatest sounding exhausts right out of the factory. Now I can actually enjoy driving it without blood sipping from ears and my neighbors putting nails on my driveway. Can't wait for the spring now.

NJ didn't ban ICE by 2035. They were considering it but for now implemented a much more reasonable goal of 80% reduction of emissions by 2050.

I hate those inflation kits. First of all the foam will be all over the tire and wheel. But most importantly what if you have a sidewall rip, something that can not be fixed with foam (actually happened to my wife recently). Wait for hours for towing? What if you in the middle of nowhere?

Here is a map of available public chargers in Brooklyn, NYC. Just for the reference the population of Brooklyn in 2018 was 2.6 million people. This is Queens, NYC, population 2.3 million Ironically Manhattan is full of them, but it is the place where the least people own cars to begin with and it is extremely easy to get anywhere in a subway.

2021 goals. I feel blessed: I have a great family, house, job and now a car I have been dreaming about for a very long time. Things are slow at work and I hope we don't have layoffs. My goal for this year is to keep all that and enjoy it. Sometimes it is hard to appreciate what you have but I definitely do appreciate and value what I have.

But if you look at interior space dimensions it is much closer to Escape. In the Autoblog article they also compare it to Escape.
