  1. And the story continues... It would be nice to see Lincoln avg 10k/mnth. But up 22% is nothing to sneer at
  2. Here is a Fun Fact... F- Series - 57,995 ( +12.5% ) All four GM models ( Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyonero ) - 57,757 http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2017/02/best-selling-pickup-trucks-january-2017.html
  3. Mustang and Challenger having their worst January in 3yrs, and Camaro having its worst month of sales since its rebirth is ( sales ) newsworthy. If you don't care, don't dont read, don't comment. Pretty simple.
  4. " January 2017 was a pretty terrible month for the American muscle cars, with the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger all posting their worst January since 2014 while the Camaro posted its worst sales month in the seven years that I’ve been covering the muscle car segment " http://www.torquenews.com/106/ford-mustang-starts-2017-outselling-camaro-challenger-slow-january
  5. “Most dangerous car in America.” It’s the title no automaker wants to have, but was given to the Dodge Ram by 24/7 Wall St., a financial publication that put together a list of the worst cars on the road based on testing scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Consumer Reports, the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration and consumer analyst JD Power. The Ram 1500, a long-standing high-selling pickup truck in the US, has a safety track record that "has long been unimpressive," said 24/7 Wall St., noting poor crash testing results. It also scored a poor 2/5 from JD Power's Initial Quality Study. In second place was the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab, which earned poor side impact grades and marginal grades for rollover, along with a recall last year due to seatbelt safety concerns. Read More...
  6. + 1 Search " House of Commons Motion M-103 "
  7. A Force Federal fed Carbon tax coming...leaving Canada will become " not a surprise. " I also wonder if Ontario's crazy utility rates had a hand in this?
  8. Flogging these pickup trucks off-road wasn't our only consideration when picking the 2017 Monster Factory Off-Road Challenge winner. Each truck racked up points through rigorous evaluations in a number of subjective categories that included judges' scores in interior quality, versatility, value and more. Points also were awarded for measured testing of acceleration and braking and various truck-centric capabilities, including payload and gross vehicle weight ratings. The winner was perhaps a bit lopsided in off-road chops and leaned so far in that direction that its shortcomings in other areas weren't serious enough to keep it off the top of the podium. Here's how they finished: 1) Raptor 2) Rebel 3) Titan Pro-4X 4) Tundra TRD Pro 5) Titan XD Pro-4X And last and least 6) Ram 2500 Power Wagon Read More
  9. Never been a fan of " add on " Fender Flares. They look so tacky and RICE. Like something bought from Pep Boys and stuck on by some Shadetree Mechanic ( see below ) There are few cars that have done that I find visually appealing flared out fenders ( a few OG 911's with a modern one thrown in )
  10. I'm not the one making stuff up on the fly - ie GM 2.8L going to be under the spotlight. So when one knows better, and the length GM/EPA/CARB went too to make sure this engine was emission good, you're damn right I'll take it seriously and counter with "facts ".
  11. You realize the EPA and CARB made sure the 2.8L was emission compliant, right? In the case of this engine, due to VW's dishonesty, the EPA and CARB didn't rely on the mfg's word about emission compliancy.
  12. The 2.8L Duramax was already under the spotlight...before the engine was even released. " The pickup's engine features NOx-reducing tech like exhaust gas recirculation, and the EPA and California Air Resources Board recently chose the truck to take the additional step of real-world emissions tests. The 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque had no problems with the more stringent evaluation, and "the agency expressed no issues or concerns," according to the company's statement. " Read More " The effects of Volkswagen's long-running diesel emissions evasion are starting to spill over to other automakers, but General Motors is taking things in stride. The 2.8-liter, four-cylinder Duramax in the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon is the first engine to get extra scrutiny by the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board, Automotive News reports. Rather than just the usual in-lab test, it's also being checked on the road. However, the extra evaluation shouldn't have any impact on when the trucks with his mill hit dealers later this fall " Read More
  13. Look at FCA's record over the past couple years: 500k faulty vehicle buy back - previous repairs have been unsuccessful, so Fiat Chrysler agreed to the buyback, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Record ( at the time ) civil fine of $105 million - auto company’s lax attitude toward addressing safety issues in millions of its vehicles. NHTSA said it was concerned about slow completion rates on recalls the automaker announced, slow or inadequate notifications to consumers, faulty approaches to fixing the safety issues and improper actions by dealers Owners of more than a million older Jeeps with vulnerable rear-mounted gas tanks will be able to trade them in or be paid by Chrysler to have the vehicles repaired. Falsifying Sales Data. Lawsuit between FCA, Cummins and customers over emissions. And now this.... FCA - I can think of a few fitting acronyms for this company.
  14. Did you read the RS link? Raptor ( fault in production ) and SD ( parts issue ) delayed a month vs FCA products delayed for years/pushed back
  15. I downvoted you for a couple reasons... 1) As was pointed out by another - your debate skills 2) Name calling.
  16. " It was confirmed Sunday including the fact it is body on frame and even which factory will build it. Pay attention. " FCA pattern of talking before walking has me paying attention. So until I see Test Mules of the supposed Wagoneers, its all talk. Their actions are what speaks. " Also they are putting their investments first into what is selling and what is popular and then to the less popular and less popular cars. it makes complete sense from a business standpoint and FCA is above all, a business " It that was the case, RAM would not be pushed back. The upcoming 1500 is only a refresh and now the 2018 HD's heavily updated trucks have been delayed.
  17. A) Um.. ya. I know the Wrangler is staying on its platform . Hence me saying it'll be the ONLY non Italian Jeep. B) Who knows if there will ever be Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer. Supposedly the project is back on...again. With their piss poor finances, delays, cancellations...the 5yrs plan might as well be the 5min plan. C) Co developed for Dodge and Alfa???. Until now, not once was there ever a mention about a Jeep based off of the Giorgio. Seeing that pipe dream of 300k Alfa being truly unreachable, FCA need atomization of the costs of this pricey platform beyond what Dodge ( which was delayed until AT LEAST 2020 ) can ever succeed in.
  18. So the only non Italian Jeep will be the Wrangler?
  19. I love the low PSI Whitewall Drag Radial on the non drive wheel
  20. It pains me when my brain damaged and partially physically disabled ( massive head trauma from snowboarding accident when he was a teen ) step brother has more optimism and a positive outlook than " regular " people. Day in day out, his life is a challenge. Yet his chin is up.
  21. I feel confident in saying the 3.0L PS will have CGI Block - the entire Ford AJD based diesels have that material for the engine block. I know the Duramax 2.8L and 6.6L, Cummins 6.7L ( 5.0L is CGI ) and all but a few VW Groups are Cast Iron Blocks. ( VW has a few aluminium and CGI engine blocks ). The VM Motori A630 - 3.0L EcoDiesel is CGI. The new GM 1.6L TDI is aluminum block ( not a very stressed engine therefor no need for robust build. ) And so much for this rumored 4.8L V-8 in the F-150 and Mustang...for now.
  22. I'm thinking this 3.0L PS will be around 260HP and 440lbs/ft ( in its highest rating, this engine powering the Jag XF, XJ and Range Rover puts out 271HP with 440lbs/ft ) With this engine and the 10spd, and how light the F-150 is vs the competition, this will be more than adequate...The RAM 1500 ED is heavy ass pig
  23. Oh... Elsewhere I read " dual injection " for the 3.3 and upgraded 5.0 - just like the rest of the gas engine lineup
  24. I'm curious to see a line graph between the 3.3 and 3.5 The new 3.3L will feature direct injection. That enables use of a higher compression ratio which leads to a broader power band than is available with conventional fuel injection.
