Speaking for myself, I bought a Ram because GM didn't offer air suspension or diesel on half-tons. You can have the best fundamentals and still let some demographics slip through the cracks.

If MB really wanted to flex their muscles in the segment and do something in-house then they could produce a pretty formidable machine. But it probably wouldn't be cost-competitive, and GM could always respond with Cadillac versions of their own stuff. A Benz with Nissan innards is just Benz selling out for dollars, which in turn makes any claims to brand exclusivity impossible to justify anymore.

Lincoln News: 2017 Lincoln Continental To Begin At $45,485

BuckNaKidd is another troll handle wings used to use in MT. The addict succumbs to his addiction once again. LOL@addict I'm guess that as well. Ford trying to get back in to the Black Car business. I will correct U on at least one aspect tho.. the CT6.. is the superior vehicle at all price points IMO. The XTS.. is what the Lincoln people apparently bench-marked.. and I'm reserving judgement as to whether they did a better XTS or an, at best, equal one. Based on the fit/finish of the inner door panel on the turntable model they had at the Edmonton show I'm guessing that the quality woes that plagued the MXZ initially are still present.image.jpeg The wobble in that stitching was apparent from nearly ten feet away. Ouch Anyways, a reminder that despite all the hopes one can lard upon it, there's some pretty compelling proof that Ford still doesn't get it with this brand. -
GM News: GM Q1 profits surge as European losses shrink

Excellence of execution reaps profits. Good job by Mary Barra's crew. On a sadder note, RIP Prince. I know Casa's a huge fan. -
2016 (all new) Chevy Cruze LT 1.4t automatic

I'd like to see a performance version as well. Not everyone wants a Camaro 2.0T for inexpensive speed. -

Lincoln News: 2017 Lincoln Continental To Begin At $45,485

I was in a CT6 Platinum last week. It's interior was just fine. And the Panaray sound system was fantastic. I saw one piece of plastic trim that looked and felt a bit low-rent, and if the car had a higher price tag I may have quibbled with the lack of metal switchgear. But seeing as how it's priced like an E-Class, engineered like an S-Class, and sized like a standard-wheelbase S-Class, I can live with that. Also, massaging and reclining rear seats?... TOTALLY worth the extra coin. -

The CT6 is as good as it gets for American luxury, currently. But don't tell me you don't look at that pic I posted and die a little inside. -

I'm guessing the bulk of sales will be the fleet version, because at higher price points the CT6 is the superior choice. -
What Would You Buy Instead- V6 Camaro Edition
El Kabong replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
I'll stick with the Camaro this time. It doesn't give up enough performance to the Mustang to make a difference. -
Glorious victory: How the Camaro takes it to Bavaria's finest

So who's that bowing to the GM logo supposed to be, me? Or the entire automotive press? Excellence of execution hurts feelings sometimes. -

Yet you say nothing about another posters constant mentions of Mercedes even though this is NOT Mercedes either. No, no. He's correct. They even say straight-up in the vid that the Camaro has advanced beyond being compared to the Mustang. Accuracy in posting is a good thing. I'm glad he pointed it out. -

Anyways, I'm too lazy to rotate the pics, so let me lay it down: the above sticker for the Camaro is 60 grand Canadian. It includes a sunroof that you can easily delete, plus it has the upsized brakes and six-speed stick. The Shelby, minus the sunroof, rings in at 75 grand. And I'm not even 100% sure if that includes and Track Pack stuff. The Camaro is, simply put, a superb car. Very little can go up against it and not look foolish, either from a performance or price perspective. -

I'm going to post two more pics that make it clear, at least in Canada, just how much GM has nailed this generation Camaro: -
I prefer the P1 to the LaFerrari in terms of looks, actually. It doesn't disappoint in person.

All I know is that I spent some time noodling around in the Cadilac CT6 this evening and the materials, styling, and sound system (especially the sound system) were pretty epic. Also, reclining back seats are cool. -

The voting system was modified in the first place because of a guy who is no longer here. Speaking for myself, I find downvotes a bit annoying but I don't care because when I get them it's usually because I'm right about something that hurts someone's feelings.

Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: March 2016
El Kabong replied to William Maley's topic in 2016 Sales Archive
I'm not going to link to someone else's website. But if you go looking you'll find that GM's rental volume is down 43,000 units YOY. So, doing that math (and assuming that Ford snatched up, say, half that volume), you're looking at a nearly 70,000 unit sales swing just through fleet shifts. As a GM guy I'll admit that I'd prefer to see them be the biggest automaker in the world, never mind NA. But I've been around long enough to know that being #1 without great product is a greasy pole indeed. And since nobody has been able to get those two traits to align yet, I'll root for GM to stay the course.- 49 replies

And another inconvenient truth I got downvoted for: VW, diesel gate and all, has percentage losses in the marketplace LESS THAN HALF those of Mazda. Because, unfortunately, nobody cares about Mazda.- 49 replies
