  1. Lemmy Kilmister died today. Bummer
  2. In Alberta diesel was running cheaper than 87 octane all summer. As I just posted... no. No it doesn't.
  3. It is an urban pod for those who don't like to drive. In markets where it is a family car it does what a family car does anywhere: delivers people and their stuff from point to point in a competent fashion. I'd like to see an RS but it doesn't appear to have been a priority.
  4. It is one thing to snipe. However... As for the Ram EcoDiesel: massive it is. But even in winter mine is getting 10L/100km or so with the part-time 4WD engaged and the snow flying. Not exactly piggish, is what I'm saying. And it can tow about 9,000 pounds.
  5. 1942 you say? Reminds me of a famous quote by Abraham Lincoln: "there is no greater wealth of knowledge and reason on the earth than the Internet."
  6. Indeed. Given the amount of cash and time Ford has put into making their product more efficient, it's astounding just how little they have to show for it. This is doubly true when you consider that they are also losing market share in the segment!
  7. It is possible that Ford has simply reached the limits of what they are capable of doing. Nothing to be ashamed of really. It's better than a Tundra. But facts are facts: GM is da shizzle in this segment for all but those who like diesels.
  8. Soooooo true. And as I pointed out earlier, the GM accelerated as hard with 9,000 pounds as the Ford did with 7,000. And I'm pretty sure it sounded better doing it.
  9. I do not understand how you can attack paying a premium for a desirable thing and then go to the wall for German luxury stuff. They are two sides of the same coin.
  10. Ya. Not exactly the colour scheme I would have picked. Still pretty crazy tho
  11. The Volt is the best of both worlds. If you have a means to charge it it'll run on electricity for 80-90% of your driving. If you need to go further then that's what the gas engine is for. It even seats five.
  12. So we have a pushrod V8 that will put the boots to a TTV6. GM delivers again, while we all roll our eyes at "wait 'till next year" from Brand X. Public, private... It matters not to me. Disproving fluff and observing the consequences never grows old
  13. You were also sure they didn't need the D6 platform at all, once upon a time Let's just say the sooner the better, hmmmm?
  14. No lack of natural gas either
  15. I heard something similar. Basically, if Lincoln can hold on 'till this thing drops it may have a chance. It seems like quite the platform, but the timeframe is a huge issue.
  16. Jarred Memory dept, Maserati edition: The craziest vehicle I ever saw on a public road was a Maserati MC12. Yes, I'm sure it was an MC12. Yes, I'm aware that they aren't entirely street-legal. Thankfully, some other dood posted the proof: http://www.exoticspotter.com/maserati-mc12-edmonton-canada-128140
  17. best post of'15I'm guessing this was aimed, in part, at me. After three pages of off-topic silliness in some other thread I decided to post an article in a thread of my own that addressed the off-topic silliness by presenting cold, hard facts. These, as we all know, are troll Kryptonite. In that regard this thread has been wildly successful, because of course it was. As for the rest: we tailor our prose to the audience. Sometimes feelings get hurt I suppose.
  18. Based on the one I was sitting in I would consider it money well-spent. Just think of it as a gift from future Santa.
  19. I greatly enjoyed schooling you again Work harder next year
  20. Eh. He just writes crap he can't back up. Sure is funny to read tho. Especially when it's time stamped Dec. 25th
  21. LOL@desperate backtracking in the face of old tech learning new tricks :D Face it: GM is schooling Ford in truck and RWD applications.
  22. They are, around 2020 or so-if they decide to keep developing the D6 platform.
  23. By my calculations, you're answering me on Christmas Day. Just. Too. Easy. How do you manage to keep having feet to shoot yourself in? :D ...and oh, those poor Fords. Perhaps GM should sell them the old LS tooling. It might help their engineers focus on their jobs more, 'cause right now it just looks like they're all crapping the bed something TERRIBLE :D
  24. I must apologize. I said the pushrod V8 offers similar power to the TTV6. Turns out that was because the similar acceleration numbers I was looking at were when the pushrod was pulling a full ton more than the TTV6. Ouch Ouch Ouch :D
  25. *checks PMs* ...probably somewhere not working hard enough :D
