  1. I just realized today that I'm sort of a workaholic stuck in work mode all the time.... yet I just came from a vacation two days ago. Why do I not feel well rested?
  2. Wow, a well behaved forum without any need for a lot of mods. Whatta Concept!!!
  3. Well that's the thing. There's a quantitative number of problems and then the qualitative; the exent of the problems. We need both.
  4. To be more specific, I came from this town in very Northern India. Elevation about 6000 feet, tops out at around 9000. I went to a Catholic School for until about 7, and I spoke English quite like a Canadian even then. Weird really how I have no accent, neither English accent or Indian. I lived in a township of this town of about 700 ish people. At the time, Solan had 25,000 residents in the entire district. Now it's pushing close 100K. I haven't visited since, but my father did; and there's been progress, the good and bad kind. They have all the 4 seasons like Toronto.
  5. It's like a BMW X6 or Mercedes GLE Coupe sort of style, or a crossover coupe; but I'll admit it. I think even with the little camo, it looks halfways decent.
  6. My first car was a five-speed Chevette. You guys have nothing to feel bad about. Now I feel really babied by my '95 Maxima. Btw, Kristin Bell played some really for lack of better words: horny, daddy issues, looking to get down with the first guy that winks at her kind of girl in Heroes. She played that role well enough. Acting wise okay, but I thought she's pretty. Any other comments would require me going into the pretty women thread. Oh wait, that one's gone...
  7. My usage is all about the social media apps and camera. I don't to "productivity" stuff on my phone, I have my Galaxy Tab 4 and a keyboard case for that which is almost always nearby if I really need it. Yeah, for Multimedia and being in the here and now; I'll admit it, Windows has a LONG way to go. It doesn't help that they've got such a small market share, and the escalation of commitment by MS. You gotta love their determination.
  8. Lumia 640? It's what our firm was about to get, until MS dropped the ball in Canada. Okay, I'll admit it's a low-end device; but all of MS Office. Onedrive. 8 MP Camera in the 640, something like 13 in the XL, with Zeiss Optics. Lumia ClearBlack technology. A great 2500 miliamphour battery with one of the best optimized Mobile OS's. 3000 MiAH in the XL. And Windows Mobile 10 is supposed to arrive to this new device. It seems like a good choice for productivity; but your use seems to be heavier on Multimedia as well.
  9. One question. Why did have your account name as "BuckNaKidd" ? Isn't Wings, erm, more relevant? It's what all of us will be referring to you as, correct?
  10. Seem's like everyone's gelling here quite nicely.
  11. Toronto, Ontario from Canada. [My place of origin is actually outside of Canada though, I was a mountain goat before I arrived in Canada as a kid like 13 years ago.] Yup, there's quite a few Canucks who came on board over here recently.
  12. Oh it's all cool, I don't even have a car at the moment. I didn't need one anymore, so right now, with my commute being 5 minutes away; and everything I could possibly need 10 minutes away, I ride my vintage road bike.
  13. OLDS, Other than being totally immature: Pics (Show us some pics of the cars). Picas........ Pickachuuus... PICK AND CHOOSE THUG LIFE...
  14. Looks like a good move, giving choice to the customer always makes sense. It'll be interesting to see if automakers ditch doing all of the infotainment altogether and just stick with Apple, Google or a standardized version of what RIM's QNX makes for FCA, Ford and others.
  15. The problem with VW is that they decontented too quickly, at a time when value brands like Hyundai and Kia really started to shed their value image. VW, already known for a reliable reputation of unreliability, now coming off as a mass-market, value player? Sure, initially the Jetta and Passat went through the roof, but now their products have been in the market; and anyone who wanted a value VW has one. The Golf is the vehicle that they've always stayed true to their roots, but right now they need to realize they have to do more than what Hyundai had to do to get noticed. I think this 3-Row crossover is a little late to the party. It'll need to be capable to contend in this class for the next 5-6 years before a redesign, and I just don't think VW has it in them to deliver a Golf-like level of experience in this class. Not when Ford and GMC have Denali and Platinum. Not with Citadel Durangos. Not with Pilot Elites or with Sorento SXLs. With all these different competitors offering the same top-end experience expected from VW, having all the latest gizmos; and offering real quality and premium features at a price level the VW is unwilling to compete in to protect cross-shopping against its premium brands in the family. The reason the Jetta is so terrible is because they don't want to get anything against the more profitable per-unit A3; because they also know anyone smart enough to consider VW would get the Golf hands down.
  16. Glad we got that out of the way really clearly, I believe everyone who came from MT has mentioned atleast once why we left, and for me and El K and Olds especially, it's singed into our forehead why we left.
  17. Knarly - now, I hope she continues to push the rest of the firm to continue to build vehicles that are the "Corvettes" of their respective classes/segments.
  18. NO, NEVER!!!!!!! NO BADSTANG! NO WINGS! NO DEANER! NO CRISPY CHICKEN FRIED WINGS! YA HEAR ME?!!
  19. I really like the wood-trim used in the top of the line GS and LS models. It's some really nice stuff. I think either C/D or MT said that the wood portion of the steering wheel was the most smoothly polished wood grain they'd ever grasped with their hands. The wood is like treated 5-6 times to get that finish. It's really an excellent trim choice for a car south of a S550 S-Class.
  20. Yeah, me and my older brother are very opposite personalities. He's the laid-back charmer, while I'm the wrought iron fist of the family. We sometimes don't even understand how that even happened. We both went to the same schools, sure he's 5 years older than me, but still.
  21. I'll be honest, your and ccap's posts always make me either laugh, chuckle, giggle or flat out grin. Thanks man!
  22. The new Opel grille, while good looking; is a Crest-less Cadillac grille outline and the front end swaps vertical lights for horizontal ones. Again, it's good looking, and the family resemblance should be good. But yes, it is quite easy to describe this styling scheme. And yes, whatever Opel gets, Buick should get too, right?
  23. So I was excited to the Lumia 640 in Canada. It makes perfect sense from the just the advantages for business's productivity needs - including all of MS Office, LTE, an A/C as well as a b/g/n wi-fi NIC. And then Microsoft takes off the ad "Coming Soon" and eliminates all traces of the said phone. And infuriates me as I was going get it, for myself and my partners. Damn you, RIM, you're finished. Aging platform and the using QNX for the subcontracting business instead of focusing on your own devices. I have a hunch that ever since Alan Mullally became a director or whatever... that he forced MS to only think of profitability and choose not to send an awesome phone to Canada, because obviously we were one of the few firms looking to have a cloud platform as a infrastructure and mobility solutions provider. Damn you Microsoft.
  24. Now we're cooking! We almost have the whole crew.
  25. Could be. I remember seeing FWD smallblock Monte Carlos rumbling around the grounds of GM Oshawa back in the day when I was still gainfully employed there. In that case it went into production (whether or not THAT was a good idea is a whole 'nother discussion).I will be the first to admit that the LS7 would be a bit of an odd duck in an all-DI smallblock world. But it has the credentials, and it's always been a low-volume build engine. A slight refresh to get it up to 520hp is probably doable. Perhaps it's a test mule for a possible 2020 ish dedicated coupe for Cadillac, to kind of go against F-Type, 911 (overlap with Corvette); but a massaged Alpha based coupe with CF - damn it's gonna go against fish that don't know they are on the brink of being fried if it was made.
