  1. I see huge competition between this and other alternative forms of transportation such as transit, bicycles, car-pooling and car sharing services. It's priced right, but I think classification as a motor vehicle instead of a motorcycle may have to do with insurance costs for the consumer. I don't think it is a car though. In a perfect world, this would be city streets and HOV lane only; but restricting freedom may hurt this vehicle. Aside from the fact its styling is 10 years too late.
  2. Uhh. Mentally and physically exhausted. I wanna be out of this rut. But I see no conceivable way how.
  3. With cars like the 200 filling a void that was ever present for so long; it's no surprise that all of FCA's newest and heavily revised models deliver surprising results. I think the 200 has nailed technology and comfort in the segment for sure. With so much recently refreshed competition; it's gonna be like that for a while. Jeep is a juggernaut during a recovering and booming economy. It's Alfa's revival and complete restructuring of European operation that are padding the results. Mopar can continue to squeeze out a few more years out of the current RAM really.
  4. Man... I can't even post in some of these threads because they're just getting ruined (sidetracked; meandering; bs; whatevs) time and again. All the time; every time; all day; every day. Ignore function means TOTAL IGNORATION of an ignoramus's posts.
  5. These two products answer questions that nobody asked. Perhaps somebody in Toyota really does want Scion to close down, and the best way to do it is to give the brand yesterday's leftovers; plan their failure; and win over the rest of the firm in shutting down the brand once and for all. Scion is on the brink because of decay that stems from lack of investment. This isn't enough.
  6. More of a mixed result still. It's not a surprise that the freshest products have gained; but the F-Series is a laggard right now.
  7. I gotta hand it to GM. Having a lot of models to choose from, certainly helps customers pick out what they like; even if the models in question share the same bones. Executed properly; GM can win big time by having such a broad product portfolio that offers different levels and different brands.
  8. Sorry for your loss Thed. Anyways, man, the daily grind, eh? Ever wanted to just disappear? Like just grab whatever you can carry with the clothes on your back; and just disappear. Leave the life you live. Because I have been having recurring thoughts of doing so... for the last 6-7 months.
  9. I absolutely love this car. Lickable cars like this don't come often; but when they do; they are mighty fine.
  10. Terrible allocation of points in regards to interior sub-categories. However, I think they do price scores as a ratio of how much worse as a percentage is the higher and highest MSRP competitor. However; I'm not much of a fan of the ATS interior. I much prefer the CTS and Escalade. Those interiors are done exceptionally well; much in part due to the better gauges. But again; enthusiasts can look past the nuances of gauges - as long as they are clear, legible and accurate.
  11. 7 engines in Europe. Wow... talk about a tool for any job. The wagon looks pretty legit actually, and I love the interior. It's more tech focused than Mercedes; and more luxurious still than a 3 Series or ATS. I think it's the right combination. Audi knows its customers and what they like. Their cars have always been on the understated side. I do believe the next A5 should spawn an A7 like derivative as well. That's the one that should deliver some spice into the mix.
  12. Raahahhhhh!!!! Goddamn dude at work kept going "Rahrahrah" I though it was a f@#king dog the whole time; I finally gaze over my work desk and cubicle and blamo the f@#ker was right there! Why I ought to....
  13. This looks like a well thought out car. Good work GM!
  14. The feeling when you work hard, and give it your all, but you're still not satisfied.
  15. I'm almost done the finishing touches on my road bike. I think tmrw I should have pictures.
  16. Well, my vintage road bike is getting a mid cycle upgrade. New Shimano R500 C30 wheels. New Michelin PRO 3 Race tires. New Quill Stem Adapter (bye bye old faithful racing quill stem). 3T Racing Alloy Anodized Stem (Hello sexy stiffness and light weight. heheh). 3T Racing Alloy Anodized Bar. Dura-Ace 9000 brakes. Ultegra 6800 Levers, just for brakes. Drivetrain will see a full cleaning, but next year I'm planning something big. I'll post a pic of it when I'm done the recent upgrades soon. Here's some pics of the stuff going on...
  17. I agree with everything/every person here, except Wings or the notion that VW Group is set up to implode in a bad economy. It's not gonna happen. VW Group has mastered the art of platform sharing, parts bin sharing and power-train sharing. They have reach everywhere. And what Audi brand snob doesn't like to here that recently Audi created synthetic gasoline from waste biomass. Not ethanol; no.... real 100% pure no sulfur 100 octane gas. Anyways. But I think too many people are losing track of the thread. We should be focusing on Cadillac, not Lincoln or anyone else in particular fan or brand. Lincoln doesn't even belong here. It's the best of the garbage luxury brands or basically the best premium package available on your lowly Ford. That isn't saying much. One Continental won't save Lincoln or further it's aspirations. As for the CTS; I think it's too early to say that GM is able to hold the line on prices only because of the Camaro. Sure it's a volume seller for an important platform; but sales really do hurt right now. The Escalade was always a winner; but it sure can't be the breadwinner all the time or be the Lebron to Cadillac's Cavaliers. And Johan's persistence in driving away the very buyers he needs to court is a slap in the face of Cadillac's efforts. I think the approach of building kickass cars and being humble, quiet and really giving customers not value; but a pure luxury experience with sportyness as the side benefit of all of the engineering is the best approach. That's what the Germans did at first; then the smugness came in and well, here we are. You cannot dare greatly when you refuse to build the cars that everyone dared you to build, as in the Elmiraj. It'll come eventually; but by that time it'll be too late. Mercedes and BMW and Audi are sitting on piles and piles and piles of cash. Heck, even Apple could buy Tesla in a heartbeat and buy out all of GM, and buy out all of basically everyone.
  18. I think right now, the CT6 doesn't really have a sliver of a chance to attract a large percentage of buyers from competing brands. People with the money want a production Elmiraj now, as in NOW but the time passing is festering impatience. But deliver it too late; it's basically a stillborn product. Cadillac would have made huge headlines with the CT6 being a bolder attempt. But Cadillac doing basically what the Germans did to the touring sedan segment 20-30 years ago in the large segment, at the better price point sounds like a recipe for a whole new segment; but doesn't really warrant any further model above it; unless it's a purebred Rolls and Bentley competitor. I think instead of a 75k ELR; they should have quadruple or quintuple downed on a real Elmiraj. And I think that alone in its sheer audacity is how to dare greatly.
  19. Well, maybe it's better to finally create a Genesis brand. But Hyundai can't afford to market and distribute an entirely different brand; so doing it on the cheap will lead to problems like this. Go for it Hyundai. Beats whatever Acura/Lincoln/Buick/Infiniti have to offer in spades.
  20. That's the thing too. 400 hp only? Why no V8? Any semblance of luxury MUST include rare hardware. Such as V8s to start with, V12s for the real expensive cars. I just think that this Continental is caught in a dead space. Perhaps the Focus RS AWD bones might give the car decent handling chops; but will it deliver utter luxury from its massive platform sharing? I think it can only be achieved through massive compromises. For one thing; I predict that the Continental will be a porker even more so than the S-Class. Not that Cadillac and BMW are about to prove cars in this segment don't have to be...
  21. Maybe, just maybe they'll make something amazing. It better deliver an S-Class rivaling interior and quietness; and pillowy soft ride; because if it can't be a sports-sedan; it shouldn't try to be one at ALL. Just be the best FWD Lexus; I reckon. But I really do like the styling though.
  22. How about a 1960s Fatigue Green Nottingham Raleigh with internal 3 Speed fixed Sturmey Archer? Now you're riding in style my friend!
  23. Since I'm out of a car... I had a minor crash with my vintage bicycle. But the bike is toast. I can't true the wheels, because I've done it so many times already. The hubs are gone, even with prodigious care. The spindle for my bb is pitted, the cups are cracked, and the bearings, while fresh, sit in a little groove created by the old bearings. It's got Shimano Biopace, chainrings and shifters are great though. Buttery smooth shifting; but I think it's time for me to upgrade. I want this bike:
  24. Even with the drop off in oil, didn't the conservative party run a deficit even during the boom times? In terms of the Canadian political landscape, I trust Harper, only because we know what we're getting.
