Genesis News: 2017 Genesis G90 To Start At $69,050
Suaviloquent replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
It's kind of a heavy car compared to the CT6, I think the interior looks the part for the price, but so does the CT6 for the price. Either way, both cars make a statement for the price, but the Cadillac does a better job of being it's own kind of car. This is just a car that beats the Lexus LS at it's own game, which itself came about to beat the S-Class at it's own game. I think the original LS actually did that, but the current one is so long in the tooth, and the concept that Lexus showed recently of their future flagship doesn't work. The LC is sexy as hell, but it's a coupe and it works. I'm okay with the way they price it, because it looks like their lease payments and how they turn out (like Drew mentioned) are going to be the judge of how well they do. They don't plan to sell money here, more like off-loading any excess capacity they reserve for Korea. ` They sell 30,000 G90's per year there, kind of like how in the recent good years, Cadillac sells ~30,000 Escalades in the U.S. -
MAJOR SOFTWARE UPDATE COMING THIS WEEK!
Suaviloquent replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Site News and Feedback
Alright, I'm gonna be in the minority of one by saying this, but I hate the new website. I feel like there is information overload. Is there like a basic stripped down version of this new site? Like I've had a lot of time to get used to it, and even though everything is familiar, something just seems off. I don't use the mobile version so no benefit there, but I know that as much as I grumble and whine how it all feels off, there's probably not much to be done to placate the minority of one, know what I'm saying. The greater good leaves some people behind. and I accept that reality instead of substituting my own. -

And just like Ford did with the Edge and Flex, it appears that Volkswagen also had the help of Gilette - they just their Turbo 2 razor for the grille design.

Question of the Day: Bare minimum acceptable horsepower?
Suaviloquent replied to ccap41's topic in The Lounge
I like the number 240, like the 240p, the maximum that can be acheived on the PR0n Youtubes with my Internet setup. -
Malibu, outgoing version, probably 2015 - review of rental
Suaviloquent replied to trinacriabob's topic in Reader Reviews
Hmm, I like the leather seats in this gen of the car but the cloth was like plasticky, not like clothy cloth. I hated this gen, I felt it was like a rush job that didn't go right. But it actually did drive like a car of a higher size segment, ride and isolation is very good, but there wasn't much else I liked. -
Tesla Decides Model S Isn't Fast Enough, Announces P100D
Suaviloquent replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
If it keeps the rich people lusting for the more expensive Tesla, we may just see the Model 3 arrive according to YOUR timetable hyper, and priced aggressively. The Bolt has zero anything yet. No pre-orders, and no brand equity. It'll probably make the Volt redundant. But it's still a start, and I like the range it offers and the practicality, but little else. -
McLaren F1 or Non Supercar, What is YOUR Choice?

It is definitely a visceral and a one of a kind experience. That, plus insane exclusivity make it beautiful.- 10 replies

I don't know what to think of it honestly. It seems like there are bits and pieces with vague familiarity to other cars but not sure what is taking priority here, form or function. As well, I feel they do not want to keep A&S stagnant, but some themes like vertical blade lights appear a little to watered down and the rear reminds me of a GT BMW wagon. Given Cadillac's recent history of concept cars, I am alright with it as the nice gesture they seem to do for pebble beach, but outside of that I see the same kind of stagnation and trying to cater to old and new with this design as anywhere else.

MAJOR SOFTWARE UPDATE COMING THIS WEEK!
Suaviloquent replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Site News and Feedback
First time I got on it was a bit overwhelming. It looks prettier...but I think functionally the tight clustered look was quite good to begin with. -
Uhhhh, so basically another Cadillac ELR style vehicle, plenty of style, barely any substance, and I don't think any of the quality issues have been resolved. That and the lighting assemblies are dated, and the car is reminder of a brand that failed to succeed in the first place. It's a waste to me, but someone can spend the pretty penny on this talking piece for the garage.

Fitness thread: All topics related to personal health and wellness
Suaviloquent replied to Suaviloquent's topic in The Lounge
Welp I lied, today is day off full day off, and I'm at 170.5 lbs or 74.407 kg. That's from 188.8 5 weeks ago. So when I sweat nowadays, especially during planks, they're like a trickle shower head, like holy crap does my entire upperbody gets soaked. YE -
Fitness thread: All topics related to personal health and wellness
Suaviloquent replied to Suaviloquent's topic in The Lounge
Checking in once more before I leave for the day. I am finding little time after the daily grind and all the different fitness things I do every week. Finally I can plant my heels down when I do a full squat. My belly has gone in 3 inches or so. I haven't been checking my weight since 2 weeks ago, but I've been sweating a lot for the last two weeks. After workout's I don't get as completely tired either, and for the most part intensty is up across the board. I can finally see my ribs again when I am standing upright. Am trying to get good abs and oblique excercises. It will be a quite a while though, And my arm's aren't squishy all the way anymore. I poke thought like half to a centimeter of mush, but behind it there is a wall of denser material. I guess that should be then muscles right? Anyhoos, I will prolly not post again for another while. I'll see you all on the far side. -
They probably do BDC weeks, if not months before it is published. It takes a while to deliberate. We're in August now. 1LE package should be fairly close to being available when it is released.

The FR-S has garbage reliability. I would get the BRZ, get all your Subaru that you can for your money's worth. Plus it looks better to me.

VW News: Skoda To Make A Decision On U.S. Next Year
Suaviloquent replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Skoda is just a cut rate VW, and the biggest thing about VW's is their abhorrent lack of design effort at all. Or the lack of German engineering that is actually superior in most of their conventional N/A style lineup. The Golf and Golf Wagon are awesome though. Well, actually, I take some more of that back. The Passat is a very nice family sedan. But the VR6 option is expensive, catering to a client that no longer exists, because the people who want an expensive Passat are the same people who hated how much watered down it became in the current gen. Also, VW will do whatever it takes to protect Audi in North America. But I'm not sure if it's really worth it at all, they could be selling the Euro Passat here, everyone would be placated because it has the same virtual cockpit like Audi, and looks like a premium sedan. -

Alright dude none of those complaints prevent this van from getting a good score. Look, FCA may have problemos up the butt, but they made this van right. Do I do feel that the next gen Odyssey will shed weight too, and it is EPA rated the same as this all new van. But for one model year, this van is champs.

There's only two Mercedes vehicles that are in "all-new" segments. The crossover coupe craze. But they are doing what practically every automaker, especially luxury autos do or aspire to do. They trade practicality for higher margins and branding. Compact premium cars have been done before, wayy long ago. It doesn't matter. Cadillac wants premium sales, and of course they'd like to increase transaction prices. While their products may have differentiating factors, like lightweight, which Jaguar also does, and Audi also does. And if they want the absolute best performance at the limit, they can do that. But there's no shortage of people buying AMG badged vehicles or M badged. And they head honcho is from the enemy camp too. We can't forget that. And the announcement of $11 billion dollars of product development came a while AFTER he became the president and had the New York office.

Most GM news says that Cadillac will be bringing to market 11 new vehicles in the next 5 years. That's a A LOT. Yes, they are headed to the mediocrity of being mainstream, because being mainstream means that the cheques get cashed in. It's the only way. http://gmauthority.com/blog/2016/04/cadillac-president-johan-de-nysschen-11-new-vehicles-coming-over-next-five-years/

Sorry Babygirl.. but neither Buick or GMC.. two mainstream brands need my help in combining sales. I will say that they are a sister brands sold under the same roof and for all intent.. and logistical purposes the upper-mirror of any Chevy dealership, no different if GMC just took over all of Buick's car models and called them GMC (GMC Lacrosse for instance) or Vice-Versa (Buick Sierra). Either way.. Buick is a global 1 Mil+ seller.. and GMC is a stateside 500K + seller. They are quite well. Mercedes combining sales of the E and CLS is the equivalent of the ATS and CTS being combined then.. as they are the same in almost every way except length Talk is cheap. You can be as floaty boaty as you want, but you can't force words out of your keyboard, now can you?

I don't want to burst people's bubbles, but if Cadillac was solely about low volumes and high ATPS, they would never allow for any compromise in the CT6, they should have superflous options like CC brakes that their V Models don't need, and they would be priced into the stratosphere. But they won't do it, because they want these SALES. It is embarrassing to be outsold in their home market, and atleast the German brands don't have any competition from America in Europe at all. It's not even fair. Here though, there's too much on the line, and Cadillac better pucker up and be in it for sales and profits at the same time.

Well, Casa! Good $h! sherlock, I don't care whether they add sales numbers or not, you always do that with GMC and Buick, yet how will that justify the Lacrosse being down 35%?

Tesla Posts Their 13th Straight Quarterly Loss
Suaviloquent replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
The monies collected as deposits is NOT revenue, it's treated as restricted cash under GAAP and IFRS. Revenue is recorded when it is EARNED, therefore there will be no reduction in revenue. Restricted cash is not exactly an asset, because there is a corresponding liability.- 13 replies
