  1. The high gloss wood is an option, just like it is on the Lincolns that have it.
  2. They had hybrid powertrains in the last gen. Tahoe and they did not sell. Same with the pick up if I'm not mistaken.
  3. Jesus.. Did I miss the ELR being brought up in a conversation ? It was a waste of time. Basically there should have never been an ELR, as beautiful as it is... especially when you had the new Voltec powertrain sitting in the wings getting ready to come out in the CT6. Fact is... ELR should have been the ATS coupe or sub ATS sports car with a normal power train. A PERSONAL LUXURY COUPE. Nice. The ELR was just not the right car for Cadillac. As you said, it should have been an ATS derivative and at a much lower price point than the ELR. Funny thing about the ELR though si that I saw two different ones in three days just last week. Just weird to see two that close together given the paltry sales numbers on those. Still a sharp looking car IMO, but it should have never seen the light as it was marketed.
  4. Given how much flak the last gen Camaro caught for its spartan interior (and rightfully so I might add), who would have thought this would be the defining statement on the new one. "WHAT GIVES THE CAMARO THE EDGE ON THE MUSTANG—AND EVERY OTHER MUSCLE CAR—IS THE INTERIOR" Now I really want to take one for a test drive, on the race track! Never thought I would say that about a Camaro but this new one seems to be hitting all the right notes.
  5. And it doesn't look to be too big of a compromise either. Seems to be plenty of space left in there. I know in the older Malibu and the Fusion Hybrid, the trunk spaces in those take a hit but those are slightly smaller cars and form factors than the CT6.
  6. Carry on. I believe this was about the awesome CT6 plug in hybrid. Maybe it's because they are busy working on more affordable cars that don't even need gas. http://www.chevrolet.com/culture/article/bolt-ev-concept-car.html That's nice and all, but nobody is buying EV. Affordable, roomy hybrids sell. That much is a fact. About 100,000 EV +387,000 Hybrid cars suggest otherwise. Furthermore GM, Ford.. and the rest would be fools to not push the development of such cars if for no other reason than them being able to continue selling trucks. I for one would have no issue with the eventual demise of the ICE. Its coming. Its inevitable. For Godsake its only been 120 years but alas this is only your take because Ford is currently not in the headlines with such bold moves. If they were.. U'd be pushing it like no tomorrow. They were the first auto manufacturer at the new Mcity facility.

Affordable, roomy hybrids sell. That much is a fact. Maybe that is a problem for Ford because Chevy is getting ready to sell them and there is a demand for them. Also, as Bong pointed out, the Malibu Hybrid is coming out and its projected to push 50MPG so maybe you were not aware of that fact.

  9. No it wasn't. You brought up the horsepower difference between two cars that, you have confirmed, do not compete with each other. And no matter whether the CT6 is AWD or not, it is still a half ton lighter than and AWD S Class. Again, you brought up the engine and horsepower and I merely countered with the fact that the weight is far higher on the S class. Does Mercedes do that? Nope.
  10. No AWD system weighs 1000lbs. and that weight difference I quoted was for the RWD S Class, so let this sink in for you one more time. The car you want to compare to the CT6 (which is does not compete with for the thousandth time) is a half ton heavier ton heavier, so it having 100 more HP is worthless when it carries a half ton more. What planet are you from seriously? Yes, the S class has more power but it also weighs much more (about a half ton more). Love how you like to pick and choose what numbers to apply and when but leave out crucial things like a half ton weight difference against a car it doesn't even compete with. Down vote all you want. Facts are facts and you chose to leave out certain facts.
  11. Again.. irrelevant and wrong. Cadillac has a 420HP, 460 ft lb V8 in their most recognizable vehicle, the Escalade. They also will have V8 in the CTS-V and CT6. That still completely ignores the fact that their TTv6s from 3.0L to 3.6L encompass ground from 400hp to 464hp. Also in the 2007 Cadillac had a S/C V8 with 469HP and a N/A one with 403HP. U are ignoring all of that for the simpleton sake of your argument...again.. against anything positive from Cadillac What I really love here is that he leaves out the 640HP CTS-V with a V8, that is cheaper (most of the time) than the Germans STANDARD package V8s. Again, he likes to pick and choose when and where to use the numbers game. It hasn't really panned out for him yet, by the looks of it

  13. The seats and door panels are both really nice but when I bring my eyes to the center stack, it just looks too much like the Fusion (plain jane looking) while the rest of the interior is five steps above that. Kind of messes with the cohesiveness of the rest of the interior to me.
  14. Question. Why is the price in the graph $800 less than what the press release say?
  15. The one thing I find questionable with this announcement is that it comes out two months before the car that modeled the look first (the Continental) and this obviously the look they wish to convey with their cars. Weird strategy but that's just my opinion.
  16. Coming up with an original yet cohesive design language would have made this far more impressive. Again, it has a nice look to it (Jaguar influence being what it is) but it just doesn't stand out on it's own because of that obvious influence. I actually like the split grill look better because it didn't look like anything else.
  17. The engine and powertrain choices are solid but this Continental front end on the existing MKZ skin is just average and a mixed bag to me. Just don't think this new look will age well. It does borrow heavily from Jaguar and to a lesser extent, Audi. Not that it's a bad thing but it is what what it is.
  18. And again with the typical dump fest by you. MB and BMW have no room to talk about packaging and related pricing. The CT6 with the TTV6 starts at the same price as the smaller E-Class BiTurbo V6, that has less horsepower and weighs more. Explain to me again how this pricing is worse than MB when you understand what you are getting here?
  19. I have to say that picture of it there shows it the best. Very sharp in black too.
  20. Oh and the comments on the WOT have been hilarious!
  21. I am shocked but not by much that a pony car came away with win but the judges really could not stop saying enough good things about the Camaro. The last paragraph really summed up where this car is at. "Here’s one where the new Camaro might actually transcend the criteria. Is this the best production ponycar the world has ever seen? Without hesitation, yes. What was interesting to me is that we judge types weren’t talking about the Camaro in relation to the Mustang GT that we brought along as a benchmark. We were talking about future Camaro comparison tests against BMWs, Audis, and AMGs. I’d even throw Porsche into that mix. MacKenzie sums up our feelings: “A revelation. Absolutely world-class sports car performance and dynamics from an American icon. The new Camaro is one of the finest driver’s cars in the world. And that’s before you even talk about the price.” It’s also absolutely bitchin’, and it’s the 2016 Motor Trend Car of the Year."
  22. Me too. The forum login window is just blank on my end but I haven't been sweating it since I frequent there less and less these days. Just Another reason to not bother going there. Really you have us here so why bother with them? Interesting now that the Muslim Radicals have made such a huge kill, the Muslims are now speaking out against the radicals. Very true. I still go there to read the reviews and such but as far as that forum goes, good riddance save for a few posters there. This place is much better kept and I think Drew has done a great job considering all the craziness he's had to deal with as of late (myself included in that).

  24. Can't see it either but I'm just not into BMWs as it is and this car would do nothing to change my mind.
  25. Now, regarding the Camaro, it would be a mild upset for a pony car to win COTY but the competition isn't anything much to crow about to being with (with an exception to the Civic) so don't be surprised if it comes down to those two.
