  1. I have an old high school friend that lives just outside of Asheville. NC and she said that while her family is safe, the sheer level of devastation there can not possibly be overstated. She has lived there since e'98 and said that every flood that came before this one seems like a light rain shower now. Just unreal.
  2. It catches the eye alright...like how pink eye catches your eye. For the same reasons, it needs to be gone lol. And Happy B-Day btw!
  3. So, it finally happened. I was really hoping to avoid seeing one of these things up close but, yet, here it is as I park right beside it. Now if you will excuse me, I have to go wash my eyes out with some battery acid. Oh and those horrible panel gaps and alignment issues are VERY real!
  4. So, you pulled a "Me" with the impulse to get certain vehicle at a certain time and screw everything else lol. Then once it doesn't pan out, that's it. No more searching because the moment and impulse is gone. Have done that SO many times in my life. In all seriousness though, if nothing is "clicking" for you right now and your Lincoln is doing fine (while being paid off, most importantly), then I see no reason to pull the trigger on "maybe" cars. You'll know when the time is right to pull the trigger. Best of luck, either way.
  5. You know how I feel about the Flex and yes, the MKT "twin" is a just hideous lol.
  6. Yeah, FuManchu was decent. Clutch was part of the headliner with RS but I could not get into them at all. I went to that show for one band clearly lol. You will not be disappointed if you see them live, bank on it.
  7. Well you did ask lol and, for the record, most of those are very much overpriced.
  8. That price is way high for the mileage and I think gas consumption will be no fun (especially if you’re running premium). There are better deals and SUVs IMO.
  9. Very much a throwback to the 70s but they are more diverse than that. This one here though captures his energy perfectly though IMO. They are featured in a few Chevy commercials too.
  10. Went and saw Rival Sons (with Clutch) in Raleigh on Sept. 8th and was simply blown away by RS. Jay Buchanan (the vocalist) operates on an entirely different level from just about anyone I have seen live. The vocals were just beyond incredible. This video was actually taken at that show (not be me lol) and it is one of their earlier tunes from 2009. It captures how absolutely otherworldly their performance was. See them live. You will not regret it.
  11. I am so down with that kind of absurdity in this absurd world!
  12. Well, duh. All ten year old plus interiors look dated regardless of layout and presence of screens.
  13. A 1,067HP Vette ZR1 was just announced the other day and not one word of it here. Very disappointing.
  14. Yup. Puts the vents a little closer to driver and passenger which I liked. Those cars (the Eclipse/Talon twins) had some seriously cold A/C too.
  15. Me either (never heard) because there is no such thing as it being okay to constantly charge any EV battery to 100%.
  16. Kia's own website says something quite different. Their batteries are not unique in the way that you are implying. 2. Minimize the batteries at 100% state of charge Electric cars already have installed with a battery management system that avoids them being charged and discharged at the extreme state of charge. Keeping the state of battery charge, from 0 percent to 100 percent , also improves the performance of the battery life of your vehicle. Even though a full charge will give you the maximum operating time, it is never a good idea for the overall lifespan of your battery. 3. Avoid using fast charging If your batteries are soon-to-be die out, using a fast-charging is a great convenience. However, it presses so much current into the batteries in a short period which strains your EV battery and wanes them faster. While it is hard to notice its degradation, eight years of standard charging will give you 10% more battery life compared to 8 years of using fast charging. 4. Control the optimal battery state of charge during long storage EVs that are parked or stored with an empty or full battery also degrades the battery. If you do not use your electric car often or having a long trip plan, get a timed charger, and plug it in. Leaving your vehicle at 100 percent while parked at a certain place for a long period, the battery will struggle with preserving its state of charge while you are away. One strategy is to set the charger to keep the charge just above the low mark, not filling it up to the maximum capacity, at an average charge level between 25 percent and 75 percent. 17. The point is not missed at all when he was talking about public charging (what he was doing) vs gas fill ups. Everyone here knows the home advantage but that was not the point he was making here.
  18. Yeah, it doesn’t pass the sniff test at all. No vehicle, not even a full size SUV, takes even 10 minutes to fill up much less 22. That doesn’t even qualify as making sense to believe it takes 22 minutes to fill up ANY vehicle that only has four tires on it.
  19. Nice looking Kia there! Congrats on finally making the EV jump!
  20. Certain Tesla fans: "Elon Musk will be able name his charging price and their superchargers will be everywhere." Also Elon Musk: https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/musk-disbands-tesla-ev-charging-202301433.html
  21. There will be initial bump, sure but long term it will be niche at best (as far as full size pick ups go). All the pros being an EV (although they, once again, lied about the range and price) are being killed by the fact that it is half baked (at best) as an actual pick up. Countless reviews all say the same thing about it. Oh and haven't seen one here yet but plenty of Model Ys and 3s.
  22. Nice upgrades on the powertrain and interior but that exterior has a profile that only Ray Charles could love. Just ugly IMO.

  24. The only pics I have of the interior of any of mine. This was taken in 2008, about four months after I moved to AZ and then had to sell it (was not made for the off road driving to my job at the time lol). Of course, like about every car I have owned, I swapped the factory stereo out. Had a really nice Panasonic head unit plus I had a six piece set of Infinity Kappa Speakers and one 10" JL Audio W6 Subwoofer (powered by a Directed D mono block amp) in the car. Sounded so damn good in there and I wanted to pull the speakers before I sold it but they were required to stay in for me to make the sale lol. Such is life sometimes.
  25. Close. He is looking for a matching pair of roller skates.
