  1. It's not really designated for either, but it's a family hauler that will be shared.
  2. No way. Not small.
  3. Been super dead around here as of late it seems, So not sure how much action this will get. Do we still do the 'guess what I bought' game?? If so, any takers??
  4. KO2 or Wrangler Duratracs. No need to even look at anything else.
  5. Kinda disappointing to read about the Mustang. You would think with what they've done on the GT350, they would have a better sorted package here. On a related note, I recently drove a 16 GT w/ Perf Pkg we got traded in at our dealer. Had been some time since I drove a GT, and I like the design of the new one so much I thought it would be a good idea to drive to revisit to see if an 18 could be a possible replacement for my GTI. And I had my answer in less than 1 mile of driving. Car is just too big. Through some turns on my favorite local test loop, I definitely felt more body motion and weight than I like. The steering was nice enough, power was great, it was a competent handler, but not particularly composed or thrilling. There was pronounced roll, squat, and dive, and the car just never felt super 'together'. And the weight was quite obvious. I think I will definitely be staying under the Pony Car segment in terms of size and weight for my next car. The S197 Boss 302 is a far more enjoyable car to drive than the GT Perf Pkg imo, and I'd go that route if I bought a Mustang.
  6. Oh man, I would do bad things for an RS5 Sportback. Love that car!
  7. There is just way too much 'open' space on the front, and the design is not cohesive at all.
  8. I'm going to put aside subjective arguments such as styling, brand cachet, etc. Here is this car's REAL problem- If I needed to carry small children around, this isn't an option. I'm not going to go to the opposite side of the car every time I need to use the back seat. It's foolish. That's what 4 doors are for. If I don't need to use the back seat, I'm not buying some goofy looking psuedo-hot hatch. I'll buy a proper 2 door sports coupe. And the problem I mentioned is assuming they fixed the awful ride, poor trans tuning, and sloppy driving dynamics that plagued the last car. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, there. So what is the appeal of this car? Who is marketed towards? Why didn't they just do this to the Elantra hatchback?
  9. Outside looks good. Less thrilled with the inside.
  10. It doesn't really resonate as a VW with me. Which is unfortunate. It's certainly not the smaller, cheaper CC/Arteon VW would have have had us believe with those sleek sketches.
  11. Not a fan of the wheels. Should have picked something else. And SOME extra power would have been nice. Even 20hp. Will still be one of the best driver's car picks in the segment hands down. For me personally, no Fender Audio is about a deal breaker.
  12. @ccap41 Ignoring the actual hatch itself, I think it's every bit as downward sloping.
  13. I don't think the Escape is ugly, but it has a more dramatically sloping rear roofline than this. And it was supposed to be 'conventional'. That was the point I was trying to make.
  14. 2018. They just hit dealer lots last week. And the Bottle Green on the Beetle you posted is gorgeous! It's one of the best greens I've ever seen from any MFR. Such a great color.
  15. If I replace my 16 GTI with another when my lease ends, it will definitely be in this Great Falls Green color-
  16. The Q7 is wider, will undoubtedly be more upscale inside, and will most likely offer powertrain options the Q7 doesn't get. There will be plenty of separation between the two. More than are with the X5 vs X6, and GLE vs GLE Coupe.
  17. Coming from someone who owned an Escape.
  18. I think the Audi looks very un-coupe like compared to other players in this class. It has a quite traditional sport SUV/CUV profile and silhouette. The XT5 looks too cab-forward and FWD-based for my tastes. Though I'm not a huge SUV fan, proportions and stance are the 2 biggest things for me, and I think the Q8 has it in spades. Others that are great in this regard are the Macan, Touareg, Grand Cherokee, and Infiniti FX.
  19. The Audi looks way better than the XTS. Proportions are better, overall design is more cohesive, and less busy.
  20. Love it. Thing is going to look sexy without the camo and whatnot.
  21. That is a huge price drop on the SE and SEL. And frankly, I think necessary drops. VW's current lineups start to lose value the higher up in trims you go. Those trims are both extremely attractive options now.
  22. You have to get an SE to get Golden Oak leatherette. Every Mossy Green Tiguan we have had in sold almost immediately. It's odd. But also hope inspiring that not everyone wants silver or black.
  23. Yeah, my GTI is sitting at home in the garage. I've been driving either my 4Runner or xB the last several days.
