Nice list. GT350 barely missed the list for me. I'd rather have a Viper cost-no-object. And as much as I like the GT, TT V6 vs N/A V12?? V12 every time.

That's EXACTLY my point. Toyota isn't trying to build exciting vehicles. They are building appliances for the masses for basic transportation. The Fusion Sport isn't exciting to anyone who's driven a sports coupe, either.

Went go kart racing Sunday and took a pretty nasty hit. Pretty sure at this point that I have some bruised/cracked ribs. Hurts like a bitch.

Sounds about right, being an Mk6. A tuned one should be all a 370 could handle. A 93-tuned Mk7 should pull one.

*Straight line performance. And it has plenty of shortcomings in other areas. I don't think I've leveled unwarranted criticism at the car. The point isn't that Ford gave us what they said they would, it's that they could have done more. Toyota delivers what they say they will too, but I don't see any shortage of people bashing them because they make cars that are 'boring' or 'dull'. People have no problem ignoring that the cars are efficient, reliable, practical, and cheap to own and operate- just as Toyota intends.

The acceleration felt pretty good. The midrange, in particular, was strong. It reminded me a lot in power and delivery and acceleration of the N55 335/535 cars. Just a bit more lag down low. I think the performance figures are pretty accurate. The transmission tuning and response is what really lets it down, though. The paddles aren't much better than useless. Shifts are slow and soft, and it races to top gear.

Quick update- Car just rolled over 8,000 miles the other day. Due for an oil change, especially seeing as in how it's going on a collection of small trips in the coming month and half or so that will rack up some miles. I have two cruises/drives planned with local car groups I'm in that will probably see ~600 miles added between them. Then a trip down to the Ozarks for a weekend that will see another ~750 miles. That trip should be right in peak foliage changing, so I'm really looking forward to it. As for the car itself, still doing great. Everything I love about it, and the few things I don't still hold true. I've learned to minimize the shudder of the DSG when coming to a stop by slowing very gradually when traffic/timing permits. My commute has switched to a little more open roads and some highway mix, so that has helped. While that longer commute has tacked some travel time on, I find myself able to enjoy the car more on a daily basis, so I am actually kinda happy for the change. My Android Auto connection seems to be considerably more buggy lately, but I'm unable to tell if it's the car or my phone. I'm leaning with the latter, as it's suffered from loss of performance greatly over the last year. I still LOVE the Fender audio system, and it continues to impress new passengers. I discovered a cubby that I didn't know I had. I also have mods planned. I've already deleted the chrome arrows on the fenders and replaced the chrome VW logos on the grille and hatch with black ones outlined in red. I think next I will debadge the hatch of the 'GTI' badge which is chrome with red inserts. Trying to do away with all the chrome if you couldn't tell. Also, payday is tomorrow and I'm ordering VWR drop springs, spacers, and a wheel stud conversion kit for it. That will probably have to do for a while, until I put back enough for a tune.

To compare directly? No. But perhaps be more sporting and engaging than it is. Truth is the car kind of lies in a no-mans land of average run-of-the-mill sedans that offer a true hardware upgrade, but not to the extent to sway prospective buyers of premium and more sport-oriented marques. Some may see the car as a nice blend of multiple attributes. And I get that. I see a car that is stuck in between roles and compromised because of it.

I myself would go for the replica for sure. For a few reasons. First off, the value of a real Countach would make it hard to justify driving it often. Any damage done would be tens of thousands of dollars, and near impossible to find someone who have fix it properly. Not to mention the scarcity of original parts and how hard to'd be to keep it original in the first place. Then there's the drivablility factor. From what I can tell, the Countach is one of those 'don't meet your heroes' cars that falls short of expectations. Sure, you still have that stunning body and otherwordly exhaust, but I'm not sure those make up for wallowy handling, poor build quality, and an awkward driving position. Give me a replica painted in a light grey with HRE 935's in black-

My daughter's school sent out calls and messages to parents for receiving threats from these damn clowns. While I believe it's a hoax in this case, how pathetic are we as a nation that dressing up as clowns and making threats to schools and children is a trend that takes hold and spread rather than any movement or cause that actually stands for something or serves a noble purpose.

Hope they used a bigger blower. Added resistance to overheating, a little bit of extra power, and some aggressive aero and rolling stock would make the Z06 the beast it could have been from the get go.

To say nothing of the shots themselves, many of which are quite good, you could NOT get 2 more different design philosophies. Wow. Love the contrast of the styling elements here.
