  1. Dude, I would LOVE a Polo GTI. Hell, don't stop there, give us an Up! GTI, too, lol. I would actually possibly buy something that small for just a fun commuter.
  2. That's what happens when you make bottom of the barrel products. They should probably stick to building literally anything else besides mainstream sedans.
  3. I'm doing multiple lists, sorry. Racecar list- McLaren MP4/6- Maybe the most iconic F1 car of all-time. Audi R8 R- The most dominant modern prototype built. Proably the prettiest, too. McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail- The car that gave way to the great GT1 cars of the late 90's. Textbook loophole using. Plus, Gulf livery. 1987 Porsche 962C- Won Le Mans my birth year, the most dominant endurance racer ever built. Porsche 917K- The rise of a giant; motorsports would never be the same.
  4. True. But this time they have an FI engine, and there's less competition.
  5. I think they could make it a viable option to the GTI. A lot of people don't like hatchbacks, and the GLI is a much easier target to go after. While still powerful, it's a little less engaging and crisp than the GTI. And it'd be a crucial step in keeping Nissan relevant in the enthusiast car market. They could really use it. With the Z and GT-R both being very long in the tooth, it'd help their image.
  6. +1 I can foresee this engine garnering a lot of praise when it makes into production.
  7. I knew you were going to pipe in about that. I like the Crosstrek. Shame they won't put the WRX drivetrain in it. I'd buy one yesterday.
  8. 1) Chevy Equinox- That Chevrolet has found as many poor souls to buy one of these is angering at worst, confusing at best. This is a vehicle than in 2016, even in loaded Premier guise lacks the following- Smart Key/Push-to-start, rear seat air vents, ventilated seats, even flipping DUAL ZONE A/C. This thing is way, waaaayy past it's sale-by-date. It's ugly, drives terrible, and offers the all-around worst package in it's class. Sink them all to the bottom of the ocean. 2) Nissan Versa Sedan- Quite possibly the worst new car on sale today. Maybe the ugliest, too. 3) Subaru Outback- Ugh. I detest these. And their owners 98% of the time. They're ugly, they drive like $h!, and I JUST DON'T GET THE HYPE. They're not as reliable as they're made out to be, they're expensive, unrefined, and slow. And don't give me no bull$h! about your outdoor lifestyle, because it ain't no damn cool SUV either! 4) All 8-sp Auto Corvettes- All of them. They ruin the driving experience, and if I have to listen to one more damn GM fanboy's "ZOMFG the 8AT is SO fast and would have been faster, and shifts faster than PDK, and can make your car time travel yo!!" I'm going to burn down a Chevy dealership. And don't even get me started on the Baby Boomers who buy them. Yeah dude, you've got a White 2LT Coupe non-Z51 like every other retired-with-decent-funds 55-65 year old white male in the country. Calm down. 5) BMW 3 GT- The dulling and watering down of BMW incarnate.
  9. Dude, I was SO going to do one of these!! Well, I was going to split them up, lol. But I was eventually going to do a race car one, a concept car one, and kit car/custom builder one. Having only 5 to pick from all of these is like impossible. I feel like I'm going to have an aneurysm trying to figure this one out.
  10. Oooh, I like this one! Also, that's a really good list. EXCEPT. The Soul. Shame on you.
  11. UPDATE- Got a chance to take a spin in a CVT car a few days ago. I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I liked it better than the manual. The CVT does a much better job of allowing the little turbo to make it's boost noticeable. The car feels considerably quicker in virtually all areas. That job of keeping the engine in it's relatively narrow power band is alleviated, letting you just enjoy the power. Considering this car still falls well-short of a proper enthusiast model and is better suited to economic DD with a little extra pep, I think the CVT being a no-cost option really seals the deal for it being the better pick here. Sorry. On a side note, this car is just crying out for a proper NISMO model. I'd love to see this car with 200hp, an LSD, upgraded brakes, suspension, and rolling stock.
  12. I love the F-Type. I actually like the earlier cars more. The new SVR doesn't do it for me. Too much of the aesthetic is lost in the name of performance.
  13. Finally got around to reading the whole piece. They absolutely loved the Evora. Which is good. And considering their gushing over the NSX, very surprising. I don't think I've read such kind words about the NSX at any other source. Many have been downright critical. I definitely think the car is overhyped here. It really makes me want to drive one to see what it's all about. I have a philosophical difference of preference, but these guys make it sound like it's a revelation. I was also surprised by their positive words on the GT-R. Other than outright track performance, most others have been ho-hum on it. The 911 Turbo beating everyone on the track on regular Pilot Super Sports was amazing. Just goes to show the phenomenal levels of performance that car has to offer. I can't help but feel like the Lotus or Vette were robbed here. Money-no-object, I'd take the R8 here. Near as usable and fast as the 911 Turbo, but more exotic and dramatic. Factor in real-world cost, and I'd take the Grand Sport. In the exact color combo as the car R&T had.
  14. @ykX Fantastic list, man. I think I would once again alter my list and exchange my M6 Gran Coupe for the new S8 Plus. And swap the TVR for the 911 R.
  15. @A Horse With No Name, outstanding!! I think that is my favorite list you've done. I love those old pre-war monsters! I thought about putting a Mercedes SSK on mine.
  16. ^ Another great list. Love the Dino and NISMO!
  17. No cars?? Why??
  18. HSV W427 Ford Excursion 7.3 Mercedes SL73 AMG Bugatti Chiron Viper ACR GTS-R Edition
  19. Both great lists! @Stew- Really dig yours!
  20. I just realized that I never made this far in the Displacement' installments of 'UDG'. I know we have a bunch of muscle car lovers here, so you guys should be all over this one!! Rules- 1) These are your only vehicles. 2) Production models only. 3) Any era and market is allowed. 4) Only 5 choices. 5) Choices must have a MINIMUM of 7.0 liters of displacement.
  21. Ok, A.H.W.N.N., ykX, and Stew!
  22. I resurrected this just for you and ykX!!
