I just had the most negative equity I've ever seen. 24K. At least he has GAP.

I sold a 2016 Cayman GT4 yesterday. Damn, what a car. Also got to take a 2017 RS7 Performance for a quick spin. Incredible cars.

Lol, all the vehicles in this class are slow. The current Tiguan has plenty of shortcomings, but power is not one of them. They are immensely quicker than the 2.5 turd Equinox. The new Tiguan has already been confirmed to get a power reduction. It will be tuned instead for greater efficiency and better responsiveness and torque at lower revs. It is being said that there will be a higher state of tune in higher-spec model, however. Probably in a return of the R Line. I think the new Tiguan looks great, and I'm happy to see they are making it bigger to better compete with the segment rivals. That said, I hope they don't saddle it w/ only one engine choice, and I'd love to see us get the short-WB model as well, so they have an option to compete with the likes of HR-V, CX-3, etc. Afaik, there are currently no definitive plans to do a CUV below the Tiguan atm. That's a position they need to seriously reevaluate.

Not much to go on, but looks like a stretched Equinox. Good to see a new model, because this thing was way past it's sell-by date.

This is also a very valid point.

Bummer. This place has been really quiet as of late. Losing a regular poster for a several months will be a big loss. Good luck with everything.

The more and more I read into autonomous technology and the challenges it will face, the more skeptical I am that it will ever take full foothold. There's too many variables and liability issues that need to be worked out. No matter how good these things become at operating in a controlled environment, once you throw a large percentage of human driven vehicles into the mix, it's a whole different story. I also highly question if people are going to trust a computer to make possible life-or-death decisions for them. If an autonomous car has to choose between mowing down two pedestrians or stuffing itself and occupants into a jersey barrier, which is it going to choose? We know what the average driver is going to do. It's not impossible, just many, many variables, as I said.

They needed this thing on the market yesterday. I hope they're shooting for earlier than 2020. I also hope they offer an ICE version.

Toyota News: There Is A Second-Generation Toyota 86 Coming
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
This is the real problem. Even for a single guy with no kids, a WRX, GTI, or FoST is so much more car for the money. -

Industry News: Beepi Reaches the End of the Road
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
All these people trying to reinvent the car market, there's going to be more following them. -
I'm hoping people may have just needed a break from these or have been busy, so I'm putting up a new one today to stir up some action. This one is going to have a few more rules, though. Really get some of you guys thinking. Rules- 1- Production models only 2- These are your only vehicles 3- Limit of 5 choices 4- You must pick AT LEAST 2 new vehicles with an MSRP of $55,000 or less, not counting MFR incentives. 5- Any market and era is allowed for used cars 6- Used picks must have reasonable availability and be in decent shape for the price. 7- Only one of your used car picks can be LESS THAN 3 years old. 8- One of your used picks must be AT LEAST 5 years old. 9- One of of your used picks must be AT LEAST 10 years old. 10- Age is based off of MODEL YEARS from 2017. Example, a 2007 MY vehicle is 10 years old.

Toyota News: There Is A Second-Generation Toyota 86 Coming
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
I mean, I'm happy to hear this, but I have to say I'm more surprised. Sales have languished for years, they've refused to do a hi-po variant, and the model has seen but extremely modest updates. They need to do this right. The car needs to be designed to accomodate a convertible and a high performance version out of the gate. -
32K!?!?!?! No wonder they're slashing prices!! My GTI SE w/ Perf Pkg MSRP'd for that, and it's WAY more car than this thing.

This probably isn't a huge blow seeing as in how the HD's don't need to be updated as frequently as the LD's, but this is definitely an indication that this company is in trouble in my eyes.- 30 replies

26K to start w/ an auto?? Ouch. I don't see this finding many buyers. -
I'm looking forward to seeing what this car brings. If I were in the market, it's very possible and likely this would be my pick.

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger Adds All-Wheel Drive for 2017
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
So here we are hearing directly from an FCA rep that an AWD sedan w/ a V8 didn't sell, but they thought it'd be a good idea to put AWD in a less practical car w/ a bunch less power. Yep, seems like a good idea to me.- 83 replies

Almost 10K more than it's most direct rival- M3. Nice. Even w/ Comp Pkg the BMW comes in 3K less. And the Alfa doesn't even offer a manual. Pass. I'd take an ATS-V over this all day.

A massive percentage of Alltrack buyers thus far are conquest buyers. As are Golf R and GTI. Touareg buyers have pretty much always been. Exactly. VW is at their best marching to the beat of their own drum. When they jump in line and follow everyone else is when they hit trouble.
