I'd be surprised if they have more than $1,500 of markup in that car. That's all I'll say.

A dealer isn't going to care how much cash you are putting down with regards to their selling price. The less you finance, the less reason they have to deal. Idk why this misconception continues to linger.

We really only got ice on the trees, lines, parked cars, etc. The streets were salted so heavily they never iced over. My GTI has been in the garage all week, and I'm just dying to drive it. Much as I love my xB and 4Runner they don't provide that same release my VW does, haha. Hopefully this warmer rain coming next week will wash all the salt away, and then it will dry out. Plus, we got an F Type in that I need to take for a spin.

Nice car. Wheels are terrible. Love white-ish interiors. Pain for upkeep, though. On a side note, I finally got a chance to drive a 991 911 w/ PDK a few days ago. It was a base non-S coupe with light options. Only 991 PDK I'd driven prior was a Turbo S Cab. So I was very intrigued by how it would drive. And in truth, I was a bit let down. The 7MT is vastly more enjoyable to drive. The PDK's road manners are impeccable, and the shift time and response cannot be faulted, but it just didn't fit the character of the car. Also, rather than true paddles like a Fezza (or even my GTI for that matter), it had the stupid little wings on the steering wheel you push forward for upshifts, pull back for downshifts. Which is backwards, btw. The shifter is as well, mirroring the forward for upshifts, back for downshifts. You'd think Porsche of all people would get this right. Mazda does, after all. Anywho, long story short, PDK killed the car for me, and would definitely be a deal breaker if I were shopping one. Manual or bust. Also, I although I love the newer styling and improved interior, I think I like the 997 cars a little better. I'd like to drive a 991.2 w/ PDK and all the Sport goodies to see if it can make a case for it.

Or the government could, you know......place actual realistic regs in place, rather than bullshit ones. They have no problem with diesel HD's polluting like crazy.- 44 replies

Fiat News: EPA Alleges FCA Violated Diesel Emission Standards

Oh, if this isn't just fuck ing rich. Wonder what all the people bemoaning VW and crying for their heads will have to say about this one. Wonder what the penalties will look like. I'm not even going to criticize them. They, like everyone else, knows how unrealistic our diesel regs are, and figured out a way around them. VW was just the first in a line to get caught. There will be more. And probably not just diesels.- 44 replies

Drove a nice little 2006 CTS-V we have yesterday (only 3x,xxx miles), and really enjoyed it. One thing I love about my job is all of the obscure and older cars I get to drive, and this is one instance. Sounded fantastic (aftermarket exhaust), great positive shifter, nice clutch feel, well-sorted chassis. Made me miss my old GTO, which it reminded me of in many ways. The steering, although precise, is really numb, and that plastic fantastic interior is dated, but damn if it wouldn't make a fun little sporty DD. I have to say, I like the earlier LS6 cars a bit better, though.

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet SS Says Good-Bye After 2017
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
A damn shame. High- very high- on my list of cars to one day own. Fantastic cars. -
Wow. Crisp design, upscale interior, tidier dimensions, lovely proportions. The red car looks fantastic. Way to go, Toyota. Every other midsize maker just let out a big "Damn."

I like this a lot. Not sure it'd sway me from an A8, but I'd definitely take this over an S or 7.

Kia News: 2018 Kia Stinger GT Is Something Very Different (UPDATE)
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Kia
I'm all for more RWD cars, and kudos to Kia for taking a chance here. I can't say I have very high expectations for it, however. The Koreans have yet to show me they understand how to get the ride/handling balance right, and the refinement levels just never seem to be up to par. Maybe this time they got it right.- 18 replies

Not giving us the SWB model is a questionable oversight. With CUV sales being so strong, they need as many options in play as possible. Especially since the Touareg isn't long for this world. If there's not going to be a smaller variant, they had better get on a new sub-compact entry stat.

Questionable decisions with regards to the powertrains and availability. Outside is decent enough. Interior looks good. With those dimensions and given the cost, not sure why anyone would buy a Tahoe.

Car buyers don't want to wait months for their new car. They want it now. This will hurt sales.

I disagree. The days of conquest and forceful colonization are long gone. The political atmosphere is too sensitive for such things to happen today. There's too much at stake. Sure, there may be small skirmishes- Russia's annexing Crimea, Israel having run-ins in their neighborhood, etc, but large scale events would have too great of consequences. States (the powerful ones, at least) are governed with money as the top priority today anyway, rather than religious rationale or ideology.

I think I have decided that Nissan is currently my least favorite brand. I don't think any other brand has as much history and potential, but completely squanders it. The brand that brought us Skylines, Silvias, Fairladies, hi-po Pulsars, the Hardbody, and numerous other fantastic automobiles has reduced itself to peddling humdrum CVT appliances. I mostly blame them for the prevalence of CVT's on the market today. They neglect their sports car line. They refuse to make fresh, innovating new product. They have little participation in motorsports. So my two choices from them would be- Armada Platinum 370Z NISMO

It's not side stepping it, it's intentionally omitting it because it has no bearing on the present. I did, after all, use the words 'today', 'recent' and 'current' in my post.

My take away from all of this is that religion is a brainwashing machine that in some form or another, is the culprit of a vast number of atrocities that have been committed by humans in the past, and continues to be committed. You can try to spin it however you want, but radical Islam is without equal on today's global stage relative to other religions, groups, whatever other example you want to use. Of course our war mongering government is partly responsible for creating the current atmosphere of terrorism, but even without our involvement, it would still be happening. It dates back to the British occupation of Afghanistan. Anyone who thinks the most recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan are the sole reasons for the problems we fact today are full of it. Radical Islam, the barbaric laws in place by dictators who practice it, and the State-sponsored terrorism that is running rampant is a cancer. It is a cancer that is spreading, and it needs to be stopped at all costs.
