Well, my choices will probably surprise nobody- Daily- Mk6 GTI Off-Roader- FJ Cruiser Cruiser- Lexus LS430 Track/fun car- 986 Boxster S
-
There is a local vintage/collector car dealer that just got in a 328 GTS. Such great looking cars. I prefer them to the Testarossa that followed.
-
Well, I would certainly love a Mk5 and Jag F Type duo, but I have to say, I AM pretty jealous of Olds' Unimog!!
-
The Italian. Not an overly big fan of Ferrari, but that is one pretty car.

I tried for ages to keep things spicy with fun threads here in the Lounge to no success. As for trolling in posts, I can't speak for others, but I don't partake in that.

Well, everyone knows I own a GTI w/ DSG trans. Love it, wouldn't change it at all. But if I were buying any sports car that offered one- and I do mean ANY- I'd take the manual. Even the 911, which has the best 'auto' in the business. Cars like the Corvette, Mustang, and such?? Not even close. The 8AT in GM's performance cars sucks. It boggles my mind that it gets near as much praise as it does. Poor shift logic in Drive, slow/clunky downshifts, especially when using paddles, etc. Hard pass.

Who cares?? Nissan is but a shell of what they once were. -
pineapple Does Pineapple Belong on Pizza?
Frisky Dingo replied to G. David Felt's topic in The Lounge
It sound like you are upset about this and can't accept the truth. It's ok. After you overcome the denial, things will get better. There's a wonderful world full of amazing things out there.- 18 replies

VW News: Brand New 2015 Volkswagen TDI Models Back On Sale
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
You do not have to have excellent credit to get these deals. That's a load of BS. Also, not all dealers are giving up this cash. Ours is selling for MSRP or bust. We'll see how that works out. -
Forgot about this thread. Couple things- I'm supposed to close on my house next week, so that's exciting. But I also dread moving. I almost got wiped out a few days ago on the highway. Was getting off at an exit and some dickwad in an ATS-V was passing in it doing probably 120 ish. Totally came out of nowhere. He had to veer over onto the shoulder and I back into my lane to keep from having a collision.

pineapple Does Pineapple Belong on Pizza?
Frisky Dingo replied to G. David Felt's topic in The Lounge
I fucking love pineapple on pizza. Especially with pepperoni. There's a place near me called MOD that let's you make your own like a SubWay, and I just got one a few days ago with pepperoni, salami, bacon, tomatoes, pineapple, jalapeno, kalamata olives, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce on top, and it was RIDICULOUS. But yeah, screw you Ramsey, pineapple on pizza is da bomb.- 18 replies

VW News: Current Volkswagen Tiguan To Live On As Tiguan Limited
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
They are going to have to massively lower the price on these. As it stands, they are way overpriced. The biggest problem is that they are too much smaller than competitors, and they are sorely lacking today's latest safety tech. There's no blind-spot, lane-detection, cross-traffic, any of that offered. You can't charge 38K in today's market for a vehicle lacking such features. Then there's the stiff ride, the poor gas mileage, and the fact it's one of VW's least reliable vehicles. The Tiguan does have it's strong suites- handling, acceleration, interior quality. But there's not enough good to outweigh the drawbacks. They should just give us the SWB model of the new Tiguan as well. -
Quick Drive: 2017 Volkswagen Golf Wolfsburg Edition
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Yes, it has AppleCarplay and AndroidAuto standard. Even w/out using it, the system is very slick. Easy to use, quick, responsive, and good graphics. I rarely use AndroidAuto unless I'm going on a longer drive. For my normal commute, I don't bother. Keep in mind, TDI's are available for sale now, too. -
Quick Drive: 2017 Volkswagen Golf Wolfsburg Edition
Frisky Dingo replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Swapping over Tiguan hardware and components make it very easy to lift a Golf and throw some meatier tires on there- -
It'd have to be a Porsche. Any of these would work-

The Corolla is one of the few cars I would take this Cruze over.
-
Gotcha. Poor reliability from VW is such a worn-out cliche at this point. Their statistical reliability is at worst average for the industry these days.
-
The new Cruze is a totally lackluster offering that doesn't display even a hint of the engineering expertise and powertrain excellence GM is capable of. I'd pass it over for most any other car in the segment. They should have named it the Snuze.
-
So?? You know how many Ford EcoBoosts, Hyundai turbo-4's, and GM Ecotec's I've seen that need a new turbo?? Tons. You could literally say this about just about ANY brand that makes turbocharged engines.

I just hate how Subarus feel and drive, and I don't see this thing changing my mind.

Not feeling it at all. The outside is completely unattractive to me, and if the interior is only on the level the Continental is, it's a big letdown, too. I don't think there's anything from American automakers buy in this segment, honestly.
-
Lol, the MK7's interior shames anything with a Honda badge on it. I think you missed the boat on your reliability joke by about a decade, too.
-
Pretty badass. I figured the car would end up somewhere around the 850 mark. They'll be collectible items for sure. Sadly, that's primarily all that will buy them- collectors. As for the performance, yes, the thing is stupid fast in a straight line. Don't even begin to try to make a case for this car's handling, though. Drag radials, spring rates set up for launching, undersized sway bars, lopsided weight distribution, etc. This thing is going to handle like a city bus. If I were stupid rich, one of these would certainly find its way into my garage. In purple, please.
