For as old of an engine as it is, I think it's somewhat impressive. It's a Duratec 25, which is a carryover from the last-gen Fusion as a fleet engine for low maintenance costs and lower base cost. It is based off of the Duratec 23 that was in the first-gen Fusion from day one. The engine platform is almost two decades old now, I'm surprised (but at the same time not surprised, because Ford) that it's still in production.

I've driven the new EX and Touring trims for the new Civic, and they absolutely hit a home run. Handling was surprisingly good and the turbo engine felt just right for that car. Awesome news to see that they're getting the manual option.

Subaru has never made an interior that has impressed me now that I think about it.

That looks identical to the RoadMonster that my dad had. It was a '94 Limited with a maroon exterior and cloth maroon interior. It was the first car I ever drove at the age of nine.

Ugh... Why didn't you just convert it to 12V?

Start disconnecting grounds. If every ground is disconnected (minus the ground to chassis) and it still blows fuses, then you know you have wires rubbing up against metal. If not, then there are either wires rubbing together or something is incorrectly wired.

Nothing in Colorado is cheap unless you live in the sticks. North Carolina is pretty cheap if you don't live near the six biggest cities (Raleigh, Durham, Wilmington, Charlotte, Asheville, or Greensboro). Everything generally outside the counties that those cities reside in are usually amazing values. Luckily, one of my company's biggest locations in NC is in Hickory, the city I'm looking at. Not much goes on there, which is kind of what I'm looking for. Low crime, a rising economy, and cheap housing are among the many benefits of living there. Oh, and the roads. Oh my god the roads are amazing up there.

But that's the Rockies. I'm looking at the foothills in NC. There are a lot of great houses in the area I'm looking at that are tremendous values.

Haven't had the chance to drive the Mk7 GTI yet, but if stability control still kicks in too early like it did in the Mk6, then I'm still not sure if I'd love it like everyone else does. The Miata has ruined me, everything else feels vague and imprecise.

Nice! What kind of gains are to be expected with the tune? Not exactly sure. It's an e-tune for DD'ing. Still, it's a night and day difference. ESPECIALLY at the top end. Fuel cut-off used to be 6800 RPM. The tune raised cut-off to 7100 RPM and thanks to data-logging, I know to shift AT 6800 RPM now. Call me crazy, but I think the tune made the car sound a little throatier, which is a huge unexpected plus. Makes the DynoMax muffer I put on just sound amazing. When I put it on the rollers for the performance tune, I'll put the numbers up.

What's better than a brand new Miata? A brand new Miata with a tuned engine.

So nearly a full second slower to sixty, as the ABARTH? Good god, how much weight did Fiat add? My car could wipe the floor with this thing if that isn't the most conservative estimate ever...- 33 replies

Start with the small stuff, oil changes and shocks for example. There's really nothing to it if you know how to use a ratchet.
