No features that are not available on the tahoe so the tahoe is at least 200 pounds LIGHTER no matter how you cut it. New 3.5 EB and 10 speed auto only See above. I love the monchrome look too. That said, if i needed a fullsize SUV it would be a Tahoe Z71 easily. I like the look of the new Exp, but that said they seemed to have gleemed a lot from the Taho, Durango, and even some resemblance to the new Traverse.

2018 Dodge Durango SRT Packs 475 Horsepower: Comments
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
Yeah,, 50 just isn't going to happen when you bread and butter Explorers, Durangos, Traverse, etc, can be optioned to 50 or 60k as is. Tahoe starts out basically at 50k and can be optioned well into the 70s. In any case, even at mid high 60k it is still a hell of a bargain for what you get. -
Um, he is talking about the Patriot. it does not use the same fobs as the newer 300 and electrical issue have been well worked out. Anyway, as a former Patriot owner, mine was rock solid. Few issues in 126k miles I had it and those were related to extensive off-road use. It always got excellent MPG (averaging high 20s/low 30s and up to mid 30s on the highway). They are also very comfortable with lots of room. Also love the little features like the rechargable flashlight, 110 volt outlet, folding passenger seat, reclining rear seats, and the ability to not only lock the awd system to a 50/50 split, but you can also fully disable all the nannies if you want. NEVER got stuck in snow, mud, puddles, etc, and even the base FD1 4x4 has Jeep's brake lock differentials. I would try to find a 75th anniversary edition. If you don't mind the CVT the off-road package offers surprising capability (heck, my FD1 did). I wouldn't worry too much about the 6 speed auto as it is basically the corporate hyundai unit found in basicall everything and i haven't heard of any issue. Mine was a 5 speed manual and that is the transmission I would suggest. the manual is FAR peppier than either auto, but that does limit your models as most have the 6 speed auto as standard. Hope this helps. I won't comment on the others as i have not owned them.

Interesting. C&D has an article on the new experition stating all of the aluminum drops 300 pounds. interesting thing is that in a 2015 comparison of a loaded tahoe LTZ and a loaded expedition platinum the Expy was 500 pounds heavier which means even with the Aluminum body the new one is still around 200 pounds heavier than a current Tahoe.

Does it have the trunk release as the rear VW badge like my bug? Oddly enough the trunk release was the hardest thing for me to get use to as well. To really leave it unlocked to have to use the inside unlock button or hit the unlock button on the keyfob twice. If you just hit the button to open the trunk it simply unlocks the trunk for like 2 seconds and locks it back. I like the Passat have seen some of the higher rims with the nicer front fascias and really like them a lot. There is something to be said for just being simply (except for their trunk releases haha).

2018 Dodge Durango SRT Packs 475 Horsepower: Comments
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
Hasn't stopped Charger and Challenger Hellcats from sellin out and they go deep into the 70k range fully loaded. They will have no problem moving thse as the GC SRT is already the best selling SRT. Guys, neither the Durango or the 6.4, and certainly not the 8 speed ZF auto are old hat or dated. I am glad the rest of the world doesn't just want to see a company die so bad they sit even on the good things they do. give it a rest. A Tahoe SS would be sweet as hell. Love the latest gen even more than the last gen, which is amazing because I thought the last gen was impossible to improve upon. -
It is a platform mate for the 500x, not the regular 500. And per your link.

It is about time. This should have been done at least with the 14 refresh. Anyway, looking at the hood and those wheels i am rather positive I saw a test mule a few weeks ago. -
Besides the transmissions on 1st year Renegades can you please enlighten me to specifics? Also some proof that the just introduce Alfa sedan on it's new platforms with new engines has actually had reliability issues/

I am sorry, but the quality is nowhere near as bad as you are stating. And jeeps sell like crazy. While I do agree the dealer expansion is a bit optimistic to say the least........ right now,do we even have a timeframe on this?

Fiat News: Dealers Are None Too Happy With FCA's Expansion Plans
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
THis is not the best idea, that is for sure. IMHO, Get the Fiat brands into existing Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealerships you have now. Make sure Alfa is accessible. An interesting tidbit is that FCA was within 400 retail sales of Ford last month so all the direness is not as bad as it seems. I am thinking the belief has to do with the fact that once the factory expansions are done they will finally be able to provide enough Wranglers and Ram pickups, no to mention the fact the Wrangler pickup will be ho right out of the gate. I do know that Chrysler dealerships are rare here so this one location i can see adding one maybe 2. 380 is WAY optimistic though. -
1. Fiat's big issue is vehicles no one wants. FACT: the 500 outsells the mini Cooper it is just a very small niche. The 500L should have never gotten off the drawing board. the 500X just has the issue of selling next to the Renegade without really offering anything make you choose the Fiat. 2. Alfa has a chance. it was about more than bringing Alfa back, but alot to do with being able to make the new platform financially viable where it wouldn't have been with just a few Dodge models, a Jeep and extremely low volume Maseratis. I look forward to what Alfa has coming since what they are offering is FAR different than what the offered in their last full line run at the US. 3. Chrysler should have died a long time ago. It was simply outdated and really nothing more than glossed over Dodges. In fact I think it was a mistake to give the Minivan to Chrysler instead of Dodge. As for Dodge their products are selling well enough and basically the whole line will be replaced in just a few years. The LX cars are cash cows and still offer a lot for the segment. In fact the Charger was the best selling full-size car last month and the Challenger was just short of Camaro sales. 4. 15s in particular had those issues and those issues were 99% the unsorted transmission. the 16 models finally ot that right. Renegade sales have seen a HUGE upswing and I am honestly not surprised. .

The only Alfas that have really been sold thus far are very limited pure sports cars NOT based on this platform. The Giullia is still rolling out and I doubt your coworkers have those yet. THis is the first vehicle on the platform BTW. So let's lot promote gloom and doom where there is ZERO reason to at this time.

Fiat News: FCA Expects EPA Will Certify 2017 MY Diesels Soon
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Huge difference here as VW purposely put software in to cheat and FCA did not. There was no fix for the VW and apparently it is possible with the ecodiesel. HUGE difference here.- 4 replies

On FCA we saw the stop of production on 4 models, 2 of which, the Patriot and Compass, being major sellers for the them. The stop of production and dwindling dealer stock on those 2 alone would explain a major reason for the drop. Add in the 200 and Dart and thee is your difference. on top of that the new Compass is not yet available. More worrying is Toyota and Lexus, particularly ANY drop in SUV and CUV sales which cannot be explained away with a half-hearted claim of low inventory.

You guys do realize they are referring to the grand Cherokee, right? A vehicle that has ALWAYS been unibody and for the current, and arguably best, generation has also ran a fully independent suspension. The Wrangler will stay the Wrangler and they are just entering a new generation that will no doubt go on for at least the next 6 to 8 years. I fail to see an issue besides trying to invent one.

1. The 500 is just finally priced where it should have been from the beginning. 2. Alfa is still in the process of rolling out their sedan and 4C was little more than a nuiche car to begin with. The real sales will hit once the full rollout of the Guilla and especially the Stelvio are complete and they are fully on sale. 3. The loss of 4 models, the 200, Dart, Compass, and Pariot certainly hurt, but the new Compass should make up some of that once it is in full productions. 4. The Renegades you see on ;lots, like the lion's share of Fusion, escape, Camry, Malibu, Impala, and Equinox are ex fleet vehicles. that is why they have low miles.

nothing major, just suprising. A freaking manual Chevette complete with classic car license plate, mint looking Grand Wagoneer and a Dodge/Chevy hybrid pickup complete with smoke stacks and barbed wire lol.

Fiat News: EPA Alleges FCA Violated Diesel Emission Standards
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
You kinda hit a point about the new administration there. i think a lot is because to be done without any explanation and I am not just talking about the auto industry. We know the GOP congress in office now despises the EPA so I think it could get interesting and we may have o be careful not o choke on our popcorn.- 44 replies

Good points. i do wonder what will happen with the new administration too. This may all end up being a moot point in the end anyway. And thank you for coming through as communicative and not combatant like others.....- 44 replies
