That wiould look good. The way 6o get people into hatches, sadly, is to make them look like CUVs.

Alfa Romeo Scraps Plans For Giulia Wagon :Comments
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Alfa Romeo
LMAO, that is just my example of personal experience. The fact is for the most part GM had a lo of garbage straight up into the 00s as did Ford. Again, you show my point of making excuses for brand A just to chastise brand B. You know me, i am crazy enough to give Jag a try or Alfa, at least if I am not looking at the top model. I have developed a certain love for the new C class coupe myself and love the AMG versions. I am, of course, wildly smitten with the ATS coupe, even with it's issues. I am also starting to grow into the new A5/S5, though I think the first gen still has a nicer exterior.- 35 replies

Alfa Romeo Scraps Plans For Giulia Wagon :Comments
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Alfa Romeo
There is still no reason to call the entire platform junk as it was actually co-designed for the entire brand. The Engines are the new Chrysler turbo 4, and the transmissions still the venerable ZF 8 speed. The only worry is the turbo 6 which has to be putting out a ton of boost with it's small displacement to be putting out the HP it does. And this is so different from those old cars in form, shape, and even drive wheels it is hard for me to not give it a chanc3e. Like I said, it is like me never buying a GM being of transmission issues in my old W-bodies or the front end failures in my old B-bodies. Simply another example of the hypocrisy of blasting 1 brand yet making excuses for another so what is bad for one isn't for the other. I am pretty sure those W-bodies were built well after Alfa had left the US......- 35 replies

No company has all trouble free cars, but the bottom line is that most of the current crop of "reliability issues" are people's inability to use features and have nothing to do with reliability. GM for example has their more recent issues as well. IE the 14+ Silverado. There is the vibration issue and surface rust appearing, in some cases, less than a year. My brother's ATS with less than 10k miles has already had to have the CUE head unit replaced AND has had to have the ECU flashed for a check engine light. I can look past the BS. Alfa hasn't even sold enough cars to be included in quality studies here....... LMAO everything was garbag3e in the 60s and 70s so that is just a foolish comment. We are talking 40 to 50 years ago. i mean that comment tells me ALL I need to know.- 35 replies

Those were all on older FWD based platforms that have nothing to do with this one. I haven't seen anything about this car having reliability problems and besides there is a lot more Chrysler in it than people would want you to think. That is kind of like saying because the transmission failed on mine and my parents 92 and 96 Luminas and 2000 GTP that GM is garbage right now even though they have nothing based on that old W-Body platform. .- 35 replies

U am sorry, i think she is a beauty and I can't wait to see the coupe version. This will not be the high seller though, obviously that will be the Stelvio. Also, Dfelt, you can't say it isn't a tight quality product, you simply want to conjecture on the negative side of everything when it comes to this company. .- 35 replies

At least it is confirmed at this oint and they are getting ready to overhaul the plant so it should be interesting. i wonder if Toyota will ever give the Sequoia and Tundra a complete redesign?

I find it crazy how quickly this segment is heating back up. The new Armada, this, The GM twins should receive a MCE real soon and then we have the Ram based Grand Wagoneer coming.

Actually they do continuously change in the basic automatic/comfort modes. The sport and track are simply to keep it stiff so to speak. My brother's ATS has Magnaride but it has distinct modes for the suspension including a sport mode that really stiffens it up. No, it isn't exact same type of system as it doesn't use magnetic fluid, but it have multiple sensors that allow it to adjust in mere fractions of a second. Just as a side note, i would still love a nice 85.5-86 SVO.

The SRT suspension is controlled through the cabin. Can't remember if there are buttons or it is all controlled through the performance pages. Throttle response, transmission, suspension, and feel of the power steering can all be adjusted. I believe you are thinking pretty old school like the manuall adjustable konis that came on the 84 to Mustang SVO. I think it would have cool if the SVO had come with the adjustable suspension from the time period Thunderbird Turbo coupes and Cougar XR7s. Pretty basic, choices were like auto and sport, but still all electronic.

So the white supremacists are coming to my town. Surprisingly the area has been pretty harsh to the idea.

Chevrolet News:2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 To Begin At $40,995
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Drives me freaking nuts and way too many around here. I think I am going to start telling people I already got a ZR2, one of the test mules, a know, the ones that are normally crushed haha. -
Correct. GC and Ram both have 2 versions of their airride suspension (Ram/off-road for Rebel and GC/even more offroad orientedTrailhawk). Also, all of the SRT cars and SUVs have Bilstien adjustable suspensions that work VERY well.

Chevrolet News:2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 To Begin At $40,995
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
It comes surprisingly well equipped for the base ZR2. Funn story, friend was trying to tell me they had already ordered a Colorado ZR2 yesterday. No doubt it is vaporware like his CHarger, Genesis coupe, and turbo Jetta yet all he is ever in is his old late 90s Camry. Hmmmmm...... -

V6, extended cab, no options needed though I like that tire carrier and fullsize spare. MT tested a new 17 4x4 and it a full second quicker to 60 that the 15-16s, 6.1 0 to 60, i can live with that. -
As the oddball, I kind of like the exterior of the current Sxpy better. That said 2 things keep the Tahoe ahead in my mind and that is the V8 and the Z71 package.

Um hum. Amazing price for the capability. As I figured undercuts he larger Raptor by roughly 10 grand (with the locking front while the Raptor only offers an LSD front and it is an option) and even undercuts the TRD Pro. Very impressed. I WILL have one of these even if I have to wait a few years for a used one. -
Certainly an improvement over the last, but i am less than impressed. the stling is very derivative of the Current GM fullsize SUVs and even the Durango. Also, while 300 pounds of weightloss sounds great it STILL leaves the Espedition a good 200+ pounds heavie than the GM SUVs, which would not be a big deal except that there was heavy use of expensive Aluminum just for weight-loss.

2018 Dodge Durango SRT Packs 475 Horsepower: Comments
Stew replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
Also, while Sergio could do a better job, some things people hold against him i think is ridiculous. Everyone called him nuts when he decided to concentrate on SUVs and CUVs instead of small/midsize cars and guess what? Sales of those cars are getting worse and dropping every month while the SUVs and CUVs soar and companies like Ford, Lincoln, and Cadillac are rushing to make the models the public demands while their cars stagnate on the lots. Alfa is a wait and see, but I have faith especially in the Stelvio crossover and the pretty sweet new platform that will be making it's wait through FCA over the next few years. Kind of how Cadillac got the Alpha platform to itself for a few years before it started trickling down via the Camaro. I honestly don't see how something can be A-OK for Ford and GM, bu Chrysler does the same damned thing and it is the worse decision ever. How hypocritical...... -

Jeep is the volume. FCA is right on the heels of Ford, less than 400 retail units seperated them this month and they are very high up on the total sales charts. I have issues seeing what makes them so different, especially being smaller than GM or Ford, that they need to be, what, the number 1 seller in the US? Never mind models they are pretty much at the top of their production capacity right now. Also, FE is NOT a big deal right now and my guess is VERY soon it will not be with the current government either. I see the EPA FE of 2025 either being greatly reduced if not shelved altogether. So yes, burn em while ya can, performance has a second breath.
