Not going to happen. New engine family only goes up to 1.5L because of the european displacement tax. Same reason Ford switched to the 1.5T in the Fusion after debuting with a 1.6T. Sonic SHOULD be getting an SS. It's about time GM got back into the sport compact game. The Sonic is BEGGING for it, and the RS was just a tease without more power. granted.. but THIS is now seriously asking for the 2.0L T Too bad Chevy doesn't have the balls to make it..

I'm with you on the overall chevy car styling. It isn't bad.. but it doesn't make me want to look twice. things may change when I see them in person but as of now.. "meh".

That is what I saw initially as well, a lot of Chrysler 200 in the shape.

Ram News: Ram 3500 Heavy Duty Now Boasts 900 Pound-Feet From Its Diesel Engine
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
So, I'm trying to build one online(I know 2015 model) and I can't figure how to actually get the max towing with the dually. Basically, I can't find the dually option. I assume that is the option that maximizes towing capacity, right? ..jeez..I found it.. lol Well is the new truck is like the outgoing model the dually and diesel add $12,500 to the base price. 8300 - Engine 3000 - Trans 1200 - Dual rear wheels- 79 replies

It's probably quite costly to make a coupe when it really isn't going to be cheaper. Just different. People who probably want small economy cars want practicallity and small coupes aren't exactly that.
-
Where do you live that you still see Cavaliers on the road? Ho-LEE I worked with a guy last year who had just bought a 03 Cavalier coupe.. He needed something quick(not vehicluarly quick lol), cheap, and reliable. I actually helped ocnvince him of that over a Cobalt with a ton more miles. He was/is young and doesn't have much money and helps out his family a lot and the Cavalier was all basic with manual windows and such and I was telling him that vehicles this age/mileage will have things go and the more things that are electronic the more expensive and harder to fix they will become. Long story short, he loves his little Cavalier and the little EcoTech 2.2.

That'd rock. My PSN user name is the same as my screen name here if you wanted to add me, same for you 'Bong if you do decide to hook up the PS3. Hey ccap, I picked up a Boss 302 in the game (obviously) last night, but even after a few mods (suspension, flywheel, driveshaft, tires), the thing really feels like a dog. I'm assuming you have one, is there a good way to wake it up? I was trying to use it for the N/A race series because it was right around the performance limit stock, and it utterly failed to produce for me. This is the car that ran neck and neck with an M3 in a real life comparison, so I know Gran Turismo shafted it. On the other hand, I've found the Focus ST to be one of my favorite driver's cars in the game. After driving the sled-like rendition of the Boss, the Focus feels like a f@#king RC car on steroids, in the best possible way. The thing just flies and handles on rails. I utterly destroyed the turbocharged series. I was driving like a total jackass on one technical track I don't think I've driven before and the car just ate up all my mistakes and zipped out of all the turns. Honestly, I'm not sure. I do have it but I've raced it in the stupid raced waaaay detuned just because I want to use it but it is doggy there. But things like the flywheel and tires on the highest settings with a lower powered car I think can actually hamper it some. If your tires are too sticky it will give the illusion that isn't slower than it is and I think if you look under the "stage 3" flywheel(or whatever) it says something about how it isn't always best.. I'll have to look into it though. YES! I love the ST. It is definitely my go-to on <500pp races. If I could learn how to tune the differential on cars I think I could be a lot better at setting my cars up.. I think I can do a fairly good job at the suspension settings but I know I don't put enough effort into the diffs. Have you ever tried to use an internet tune? ie. a tune somebody posted online. It might help you more than me because on GT5 I really wanted a moster C63 but I could never set it up to take a turn, drove like an old school muscle car. So, I googled a few setups(they were all very different..) and tried them. I think the controller made it very difficult to take advantage of the subtle changes a good setup will give you. Awww.. sorry buddy.. pets aren't just "pets" they're true family members and missed as such.

He does have a point. You have really spin up the rpm in the 3.6 in the lambdas to get to that torque. That hurts fuel economy and makes them feel a little sluggish. I did notice this in my friend's dad's Acadia. It will scoot for a large vehicle, you just have to work the throttle a little more than I would like personally. It needs those RPMs.

No freakin' way. Pics or I call BS. Sorry I was too busy picking my up my jaw from the ground. You son of a... lol jk, that's friggin' awesome though! Super jealous.
-
I'm not disagreeing but I am surprised they never even had a second engine option for either the Acadia Denali or top trim Buick Enclave. Mostly the Denali stood out to me but I would think if a GMC got a second engine then a Buick would as well. Keep it away from Chevy in hopes of an upsell of the other two.. I'm pretty sure you're correct, average buyer doesn't know anything about torque and its importance.

I literally never would have thought this was anything special. But, it's pretty awesome actually. Nice eye. Anyway, I saw a black Porsche Mecan S today. Looked super sharp!

The MKX and Enclave share a price point and much of the options list is similar. The Enclave punches above its station in life though as it ages, that is fading. The primary difference between the two is in the rear where the Enclave has 3-row seating. Years ago when I drove the MKX, I called it a Lambda with the ass cut off. It feels that big. Ahhh that makes sense then (to you too 'Bong). A friend of mine's dad has an Acadia and we took it on a float trip one year and it fit 6 guys and our luggage surprisingly EXTREMELY comfortable. He also said when we got there that he had gotten 23mpg and that is including an hour and a half of mountains and he does NOT have a light foot. It got sketchy in those mountains with a heavy footed driver lol. His is FWD though. Either way it did its job extremely well. Today, looking at the center stack... it looks very aged, but only in the center stack. Everything else has aged very well imo.
-
Except for the loathsome Sync system, the Enclave is already starting to fall behind on the powertrain. However, Enclave has 3-row seating. Given that the Enclave has spotted the Lincoln several year's worth of potential for tech and engineering advancements I'm still content with the Buick's chances. And let's face it, when Lincoln's small SUV sells only a fraction of even Cadillac's SUV offerings (including the Escalade!) it doesn't exactly bode well for this one, even with the aggressive pricing. Well you do have a point there. The Enclave alone sold 62,300 units in 2014 where as all of the Lincoln SUVs (MKC, MKX, MKT, and Navigator) combined sold 52,305 in 2014. However, I want to see some more powerful engine options and some updated tech in the Enclave. Yeah I see a TON of the Enclaves in my town. They look alright, not my style at all though. I actually think they don't really have much styling to them but they are a clean design and could see somebody seeing the value in them.
-
Am I the only one not understanding the Enclave's comparison to the MKX? I realize some think of Lincoln as half-assed lux and they compete with Buicks but aren't they sized quite differently and engine options and such..? I would think the MKT(top 3 ugliest vehicles on the market right now - if not THE ugliest. Quick! try and name an uglier vehicle!) would compete with the Enclave because it is larger, correct?

Looks really sharp, too bad all soft tops look like garbage when the top is up, which is 90% of the time.. But it does look really good with it down.

A comparable ML400 starts at $63,000. So that $8K discount is already there. And then some. GLC is the GLK replacement, not the ML replacement. ..fyi.. I was not sure, and since the GLC is turbo I4 only, I thought it better aligned to the MKC. MKC is a bit smaller, so GLC is somewhere in between the MKC and X. Yeah I think the MKX is in the middle of the two. I look at it like the MKC = Escape = Lifted Focus.. And the GLC = C Class.. C Class is larger than a Focus.. I realize that is a very rough way to look at it but it's "generally" correct.. If not correct me.

When I first put it back in a few weeks ago after not playing for over a year there were 15 updates.. luckily I did it at night and just let it do its thing while I went to bed. I checked on it about 45 minutes later and it was only 3/15 updates though.. No clue what got updated though. I think you can read what each update does.

Shiny means clean. Duh.. Didn't you know this? YES! My hardest part of getting back into it is tuning.. I feel so damn clueless all over again. And at first it didn't matter how I changed the suspension settings unless I could run a consistent lap anyway.. Practice practice practice.

Yet you do not comment on one very IMPORTANT Fact! Most people are terrible at driving manual transmissions. I know for a fact. While I required both my son and daughter to learn and drive in Highschool a Manual Pickup truck. This limited having to many people due to it being a standard cab so 3 tight, but really only 2 people drive and 1 passenger plus their bags, books etc. My son is a terrible driver and never could get the feel for shifting compared to my daughter who would get EPA rated MPG on the Manual, My son always got 10-15% less or more depending on highway versus city driving. My wife and I could always exceed EPA MPG. The reason I believe Automatics do better for people is most people do not want to have to think about how they drive, the sweet spot for shifting and dealing with a clutch plus break and gas. Add hills and people fear the roll back and freak out. Manuals have their place but in limited applications due to human nature. Consumer Pickup trucks should just stay automatic as it would be best for everyone as is most auto's. Performance and econobox auto's can have a manual option but I still believe most people will go with an automatic. I am not saying your wrong about Manual being better than automatic, but the electronics today are faster than human response time and I think it does end up with most automatic auto's out performing manual transmission auto's. Very good points, sir. There is so much more room for error with a manual that if you really don't know how to drive it correctly you will be wasting even more fuel just out of pure ignorance. You could slip the clutch too much on every launch and never get city mpg because of it or conversely, slip it perfect and put it in neutral and coast to a stop and blow the ratings out of the water.
-
I'll just elave you with this line..which I believe is why manual transmission vehicles get better mileage than their ratings. The people driving manuals tend to know a thing or two more about their vehicle and how things actually FEEL while driving rather than just putting their right foot on the floor and expecting to get the ratings. "But when the engineers conducted further tests on those unnamed models, they found the vehicles' fuel economy met EPA estimates. With no apparent mechanical shortcomings, they focused on driver behavior as a possible culprit for the poor numbers."

Mercedez Benz News Debut: 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

How often does our dash get hit by things?!?!? It would get hit as often as any other screen in that location.
