I would so remove that as it would look better without it and you would have better ground clearence for real use of what this auto is designed for. They need to remember these are SUV's for use and not a car. If they want to drive them by the dozen for the soccer moms fine and they get lower gas mileage fine also. Just do not loose the functionality of what this auto is all about. This IS the funcionallity of what this is now though. People hauler, stuff hauler, vacationer, fuel economy while doing all of those. These don't get taken off road by 99% of the customers. And the 1% that do won't have an issue getting under there and taking it off on day 1.

The diamonds stop on the underside, they have to be able to resize the ring afterall! I picked it out. We looked at rings together a few times so I knew what she liked, but I told her I liked other ones so she wasn't expecting this style. She can't stop looking at it, haha. Nice Nice! ..it all depends how much work you want the jewler to do.. anything can be resized! I think it's a good idea for them to not go all the way around though. Makes for less worry on her part that she may ruine or damage the underside doing everyday things. Good job picking it out! I really like that band. That's awesome that she loves it!

Real Measure of Success: Cadillac ATPs Up 15% for June 2015
ccap41 replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
Wouldn't no refuleing or tire canges make for less strategy? The best engineers win in F1. Great sport..yet terrible at the same time. -
Its a rumor of 13 cars. In truth it could be less than that. Either way even if it is 25 cars.. outta 10,000 ??? Why the do U care? Let Chevy deal with it via warranty.. their money and their reputation. Why are U so concerned??? U buying one in a few days or what? Eassssy man.. Just curious because I don't think I've even heard as many as 13. And in all fairness.. it could be more as well.. like you said though, 0.25%. And I care because this is an outstanding performance car per dollar(heck, not even per dollar. Just outright badass!). But if there is an issue.. it isn't the bargain it is expected to be. Even if it s covered 100% by warranty(and there is no reason to suspect it wouldn't be) it is still a ridiculous hassle for the owner.

Hey Casa, I'm also curious where you got 13 failures from?
-
13 out of 10,000 is not .84% (or 1 in 120)... I don't understand the math you used. 13/10,000 is .13% or 1 in 769. Perhaps I am wrong.. I came up with those numbers outside of following the methodology used here http://www.mathpages.com/home/kmath498/kmath498.htm yanked the other numbers from Autocar I'm not a statistics wizard, but I'm not sure how you found data for all the variables those equations ask for. I just went the simple route: if there are 10,000 Corvette Z06s produced and 13 of them had engine failures, then .13% of LT4s have failed, 1 in 769. Of course, just knowing this was a press model, possibly pre-production, throws off the math too. I think what the statistical formula was finding out would have been on a per/day or per/mile or per/X type of thing based on the opening paragraph of that page. "Suppose we're given a batch of 1000 widgets, and each functioning widget has a probability of 0.1 of failing on any given day, regardless of how many days it has already been functioning. This suggests that about 100 widgets are likely to fail on the first day, leaving us with 900 functioning widgets. On the second day we would again expect to lose about 0.1 of our functioning widgets, which represents 90 widgets, leaving us with 810. On the third day we would expect about 81 widgets to fail, and so on. Clearly this is an exponential decay, where each day we lose 0.1 of the remaining functional units. In a situation like this we can say that widgets have a constant failure rate (in this case, 0.1), which results in an exponential failure distribution." A least that is what it sounds like to me. Which leaves almost any number us non-engineers (with no testing data like a Corvette engine engineer would have) inaccurate.

Wow, I love seeing information like that. Gears, ratios, speed in gear.. That's cool stuff to me. So 6th in your Z51 Stingray will "theoretically" get you to 260mph? That's some Overdrive gear if I've ever heard of one.. One reason that thing can get 30mpg highway if you're taking it easy. And, 68mph in first gear.. LOL That's crotch rocket like gearing.. for first gear. But the Z06's stupid power band makes it so every gear can be nice and tall and not worry about having to shift all the time.

There is no motive, man. If there were a motive I don't think I would have quoted the first paragraph where it was nonstop praise about the incredible performance of the car. Or I would have said something smartass like "you know who" from MT. It's just news.. I thought I'd share because it's been brought up muliple times. Yes, it is first year of production issues but those issues aren't typically issues with engines straight up failing. They are usually stupid electronic things or other little things happening but not usually a 20+k engine failing. Just curious but where are you getting your engine fail % from? Also, I don't care about Vipers..that's why I don't post anything about them. I like Corvettes. EDIT: I see where your numbers came from.. staggered posts..

"There’s no doubt it’s a world-class machine at speed – and at coming down from it. Some high-performance cars can be squirrely when you stomp on the brakes at triple-digit speeds, but the Z06 stays straight as an arrow, even in mixed conditions. Only in the tightest hairpins does it object to your commands in the slightest, eventually bringing its rear end around and then catching it if you don’t. Despite the massive amount of power on tap, it’s easy to find your confidence in this car, and learn a few things along the way. That is, until you reach the end of the road. After a few lapping sessions, the engine in mine unceremoniously called it quits. There was oil, some bits and pieces, unpleasant noises. It was not pretty. The cause? Yet to be determined." http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/07/10/2015-chevrolet-corvette-z06-test-drive/ I don't want to start a pissing match because it's been discussed before.. but because it's been discussed before I thought I'd share this link here that I came across yesterday.

I actually don't think it looks as out of place or noticable on this a smuch as it does on the Colorado. But they do sit extremely low. I walked past a new Denali a few months past and I was checkin' it out and I noticed that that front diffuser had to have been only 6 inches off the ground.. But it sat far enough back that it wasn't really noticable like it is on the Colorado.

Looks good, sir! I really like that band on it. Do the diamonds follow it all the way around or do they stop once past the finger? Now the real question.. Did you pick it out all on your own???
-
Yes, that's fine as long as it doesn't get political. Awesome! Thanks!

Congrats! What's it look like..?!? I'll post a picture after work. It's got as much diamond as I personally find tasteful. All her female friends and relatives seem to like it. That's all that matters is that she likes it! I wish you lived closer, the gf's parents own a jewlery store and could have hooked you up.

..Another Z06 is down.. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/07/10/2015-chevrolet-corvette-z06-test-drive/ "There’s no doubt it’s a world-class machine at speed – and at coming down from it. I dig the body color running through the grill. Hopefully they don't make a chromed out version where that is instead a massive chunck of chrome. Is it me or does anybody else see a little more Colorado in this? Either way, I think it is a good facelift. I like the grill a lot more, The hood has some muscle to it, the lights look much more modern. Good job.

I have to ask.. What is the difference between that and a 32" TV? Don't most modern TVs have inputs to be used as monitors? The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is resolution. Don't computers/monitors use a much higher resolution than 1080p? The main difference is that TV's as long as they are 1080P only give you the HD resolution or lower and usually have only HDMI or VGA ports to connect to a computer. Computer Displays like the one above at the link have the HDMI but also the HDMI Display port which allows the full resolution to show up which is 2560 x 1440 compared to HD which is 1920 by 1080. Plus with dedicated Computer displays you get so much more, what you asked. Comparison TV - 1920 x 1080 resolution with an extra HDMI or VGA port and that is it. HP's 32" Computer Display - 2560 x 1440 with HDMI Display port plus the following: 2 HDMI ports for connecting to blue ray or other devices 2 bass speakers 2 treble speakers USB Hub Built in with multiple ports Headphone stereo port Some models also allow the monitor to go into Portrait mode such as the NEC Display monitor. Price just came down to $459 so even better deal now. Great way to have 3 full size web pages open at the same time or a large spreadsheet. TVs come with more HDMI inputs, more USB ports, you have the computer for a headphone jack. The only thing that I really see stand out is the resolution, like cp said. I mean "factory" speakers won't equate to a good aftermarket set at this price point anyway so those speakers don't really mean much, in my opinion. I guess I just don't see $500(after tax) being worth it for a 32" monitor/tv... Sorry, not trying to sound like a prick.. I'm just trying to see the value in this..

Bump. So Drew can see.. And everybody can hear my rant again..lol I have to ask.. What is the difference between that and a 32" TV? Don't most modern TVs have inputs to be used as monitors? I just had a thread closed on another forum because I was asking concealed and carry questions.. I literally was just asking if anybody had anything mounted in their car(Ford Escape forum). If they had and suggestions or locations that they liked best. And before k said any of that I stated that I al looking to get into a class for my license within the next few months. All depending on scheduling. So I made it clear that it would be done legally.. Kind of annoyed. Speaking of which..Drew, could I start a concealed carry thread..? (About it in general and/or about vehicular mounting)

C&D Places ATS-V Last in Comparo... for interior??
ccap41 replied to cp-the-nerd's topic in Industry News
No no no 464 is plenty. It was the v8 part that I'm more partial to.. Strictly for its noises. All of these cars perform so close to each other it's awesome for us car guys. -

ccap41 replied to cp-the-nerd's topic in Industry News
These aren't coupes, correct? So 8cubic feet less in the rear and 2cubic feet less in the trunk (than the smallest competitor) is a fair amount and reason to gripe. If these were coupes, clearly they would be even more driver oriented but if the buyer is buying one of these in sedan guise then they intend to use the rear seats and trunk and the lack of space for a vehicle within an inch or two in all exterior measurments of the BMW and Merc isn't acceptable and it should be knocked for those qualities, or lack of qualities, in my opinion. I absolutely love this class of car. It is right up my ally and hopefully one day I will be deciding on one of these three. The one thing that I think would sway me from the ATS-V is the V8 in the Merc. The ATS looks freakin' awesome in its V Series costume but if there is a 500+hp V8 as a competitor..It'd be hard to pass up one of the few V8s left around.. -

Damn, I just got my magazine a few days ago.. I'll be reading it tonight whilst doing some cardio at the gym.. I did sneak a peak at the results though and price tags. -
I can't get past the new exterior design language. Well that and the CVT. I'd be inclined to at least try the Edge Sport at the same price point as the others. I'd buy the edge just based on the looks over the other two alone. Even when it isn't in top trim. Then add in that it doesn't have a damn CVT or isn't Hyundai and BINGO. Okay, that was harsh on Hyundai.. I realize they made very good stuff now and compete with vehicles they would only dream of 15 years ago.. it would still be really hard for me to ever buy one. I'm curious what the Edge weighs with the 2.0 and FWD and 2.0 and AWD just for comparisions sake because 4400lbs is heavy. But it is a v6 and two turbos, bigger intercooling and cooling in general with what..22 inch wheels? 21s? I think 20s would be more than enough, especially once you realize they(tires) don't last forever and will have to be replaced..that'll be a pricey bill, for even the cheap junk tires that I wouldn't even consider.

While I absolutely 100% agree.. My friend said this to me that kind of opened my eyes to it regardless of fake or not. "it's entertainment" That really is all that it is, just like ANYTHING on the ole television. Whether it is all staged or isn't(we know which it is) then it is like one long ass movie. It is planned out, acted out, and always new stories. <-I never thought of it that way. I always looked at it as a sport, which was being faked and staged(which I hated once I grew out of it). But once I realized it is kind of just like a movie(which we all watch movies) I realized it isn't that bad anymore. I still don't watch it but that is more because I'm not even going to try and spend 3 or so weeks getting into the "rythm" of who's who and what's what.
