  1. "contaminants in the oil can cycle through the engine during break-in" Reading is your friend. If you own a high performance sports car, why the hell would you start beating on the car before completing break-in and an oil change? Do we really have to stupid proof the entire planet now?
  2. OH GOD. Burn it with fire before it can reproduce!!
  3. Hahahaha oopsies.. Sorry.. not my cup-a-tea color.. I think the Ford has a little more of a pink to it. I know nothing about the AWD system in those Fusions. I'd have to read up on it before making a decision. I know 99% of the time I wouldn't be utilizing it anyway so I'd probabl just rock the FWD in it. Yeah, it's not a dig at Ford's AWD. I just don't see the point of anything less than a torque vectoring system unless you get a lot of snow or live up a dirt road. People equate AWD with performance and 9 times out of 10 that's wrong, or they assume they're getting real 4WD and think they're invincible in bad conditions.
  4. I've liked the Sonic a lot since it came out. If the RS trim had a power bump instead of terribly aggressive gearing (6th gear turns 3500 rpm @ 60 mph, 34 mpg highway as result) I would probably be driving one now. What kind of mileage are you getting with your stick shift Sonic turbo?
  5. Truth. Every time I use a car with an infotainment system for a while, manual controls feel like a breath of fresh air.
  6. My mom has a '12 Fusion and loves it. 2.5L engine, FWD(I don't think AWD was even available then with the smaller engine). I REALLY like the '13+ Fusions. I wish my parents would have held out for them but her Grand Prix was starting to run up the maintenance bills quicker than they liked so it was about time. What kind of mileage do you get out of that with the 2.0 and AWD? I would have to believe ~3-4mpg better than I get in my Escape with the 2.0 and AWD. I prefer the 2010-12 body style Fusion. I thought the Malibu LTZ 3.6L and Fusion Sport 3.5L were really great unsung American cars. They drove as well as any sporty Japanese FWD and looked great doing it, just too bad they didn't offer manual transmissions. Fusion Sports still catch my eye when I spot one. They catch my eye too. I saw one just yesterday, ugly color.. it was that half red, half maroon, half pink(yes. three halves. ). Funny "story". When I was selling my Mach 1 I had some guy offer to trade me his Fusion Sport AWD straight up for my Mach 1. Monetarily, it was pretty fair actually. I just didn't want the hassel of trying to sell that and then being another owner on the title decreases value.. Just wasn't worth the work, imo. I think it also had just a little more miles on it than i wanted to buy with. Hahaha you just described the red jewel tintcoat on my Malibu. I'll just assume it looks worse on the Ford for some reason. I'd forgo the passive AWD. FWD is lighter and more nimble.
  7. Wings, I would take the '10-12 center stack over MFT any day of the week, and while the new Fusion has perfectly good handling and driving dynamics, I'll take the hydraulic steering unit, manual mode, and V6 power of the previous gen too.

  9. I feel you, man. The Orioles can't get their sh*t together enough to make a play for the wildcard. Such a great roster of players, but it's such an inconsistent team this year. They go from the hottest team in baseball to cold fish from month to month. I don't get it. Buck is an amazing coach but he needs to get that under control. On the bright side, my Ravens put on a fun show against the Saints last night. 3rd string QB gave up an interception with a few minutes to go, giving away the lead, then he crammed it down their throat with an impressive highlight-reel touchdown drive that Tyrod Taylor never could have put together (our worthless 2nd stringer the past several years). Won 30 to 27 with 2 seconds left on the clock. Stadium went nuts.
  10. The design changes don't make the truck look any newer, the new face has some odd proportions and shapes going on as well. I'm sure it will retain the loyal Toyota following and continue outselling the new GM twins for at least a few more years. The Taco V6 will likely outperform the Colorado and Canyon with its weight advantage, but GM has an 8-speed automatic and two V6 options ready to swap in at any time: the 4.3L Ecotec3 and the all new 3.6L LGX. Competition is a good thing. Keeps manufacturers trying to one-up each other and the consumer wins (see pony car/muscle car war).
  11. I want to see more pics, sounds like a nice exterior package. Too bad it's light on "sport" equipment.
  12. Oooooh I really liked the 2013 Lacrosse 3.6L. I thought the face, headlights, grille were perfect. I'm not as much a fan of the refreshed '14+ Lacrosse, but the new interior is better laid out and more attractive. I really liked the dynamics of the Malibu LTZ Turbo. Great handling, surprisingly good looking exterior in LTZ trim as well. Interior is very functional, albeit with an odd looking dash. Personally, I'd go for a Buick Regal in a heart beat.
  13. Ccap is correct. $3 to $5 on amazon. Easiest, cheapest auto repair ever.
  14. Over at Malibu forum... OP: Got this used Malibu but two of the buttons on the keyfob don't work! What do I do!? WHAT IS HAPPENING?! *(Paraphrasing)* Me: Contacts on the rubber keypad are worn out, common problem. Get a new one off Amazon for a couple bucks. Tons of threads on this subject if you need more help. OP: Do I have to replace the computer chip too?? Me: *Yells at computer screen: WHAT DID I JUST SAY.* OP: Oh gee, it was just the rubber keypad all along! Me: !@#$%^&*@#$%^&*(#$%^&* Why is this every day on the internet??
  15. Nothing can touch the Avenir concept for luxury GT design, which is what this thing vaguely reminds me of from the rear and profile. Maybe it's a stretch, but this Hyundai design doesn't move me. Front feels like some kind of Kia/Aston/Fusion mashup. Moar better.
  16. Interesting issue, I found the following on this: http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Support/ps3-3d-glasses-are-not-working/td-p/39284785 Seems to be an issue from Playstation as I see other threads where the PS 3D glasses are hard to sync with various other manufactures. I saw that article. My TV and the glasses are both Sony and are designed for the same 3D standard. The owner at the link had a 3D TV that wasn't using the universal standard that manufacturers came up with.
  17. Any TV/home theater experts around? I bought some Playstation branded universal 3D glasses to use with my new Sony 3D TV (both glasses and TV use active IR 3D), but the glasses wont sync. I've updated the TV and scoured the internet to no avail. I'm hoping it's something stupid and easy that I'm missing. I've double checked that my new TV is compatible with standardized universal glasses, and both are made by Sony after all. The glasses have excellent reviews. TV came with 3D glasses that DO WORK. Sync for them was automatic. Anyone have any ideas? I'm losing my mind trying to figure this out.
  18. You're making an argument based on the false notion that cars are either mainstream or luxury. There's mainstream, entry lux (Buick/Acura), luxury (BMW/Cadillac), and super lux or premium or whatever you want to call them (Bentley, Rolls). The industry is full of gray areas, case in point, Toyota covers entry lux and luxury with Lexus. GM covers those two tiers with Buick and Cadillac, and they've found a strong market despite both brands moving significantly upscale from where they were 10 years ago.
  19. Who knows? I still think GM should turn the Canyonado into a nice Jimblazer Like. God. Damn. That is so badass it hurts to look at. Like that truck with the 5.3L and 8-speed auto, I'd have to have it. Eff.
  20. I'm going to remember that you made this comment.
  21. I think the primary mistake between the new Edge and MKX is sharing the 2.7EB. The Ford Edge Sport answers a question no one asked, it's a cool CUV, but it's like Ford is actively trying not to give Lincoln substantial exclusive features.
  22. I agree, the acceleration is about half a second slower than I'd want. I hope the Colorado/Canyon diesel is a bit quicker. I like everything about the Ram Ecodiesel other than that, though. Reviews say paired to the 8-speed auto, the truck just surfs a wave of immense torque so it doesn't feel slow until you're gunning it. Yeah, the torque off the line is fantastic, you never feel slow unless you're flooring it and realize there is nothing left above what you normally drive. However, you can do that with a 20ft boat out back and your acceleration will basically be unchanged. Exactly. It tows just as well as any V8, or better in some cases, and lets you crack 30 mpg under the right circumstances. The 420 lb-ft of torque is ALWAYS available.

  24. Oh please, spare me the incredulous bullsh*t. Me suggesting that an understeer-biased AWD car with loads of electronic aids is easier to drive to it's potential than a 650hp RWD one is incredulous?? Sure. Re-read this: "I can't believe any reasonable person would argue with that." Now go look up the word incredulous.
  25. "...and was under 50k" Not a realistic hope. You can't get that kind of equipment from competitors for under $60k. I do wish the manual trans would be more widely available. They're not even using the 7-speed outside of the Vette right now. Seemed like an obvious choice in the ATS-V. Lol, what?? I JUST built a 335i for 47K. It has everything but an LSD. You mean to tell me Cadillac couldn't build the car I mentioned for 50K? Puh lease. And here I pegged you as not being ate up as the rest of GM boys. I don't get why you're being so condescending toward me lately. I thought you were referring to V-level equipment with a lesser engine, I guess I read too far into your comment. I was wondering why you'd suddenly be asking Cadillac to sell high-end performance on the cheap.
