  1. If I was Lexus...Id give the LFA V10 a home in this car. Id forgo a TT V8 in favor for the Yamaha V10 and a hybrid system...
  2. What is so surprising about the 5 and 6 Series tanking in sales and both the X5 and X6 soaring in sales? 1. The 3 Series and 4 Series are the models that define BMW...Through ultimate driving machine heritage to flagship model as its the M3 and now the M4 are the face of BMW speed. Plus...the 3 Series remains as the company's bread and butter mainstream offering... 2. The current 5 Series is UGLY and its aging...not a very good combo. 3. The current 6 Series...its supposed to be a 4 door coupe...yet it lacks the sex appeal and mojo of both of its German rivals..the CLS and A7...plus its aging...again....not a very good combo. 4. This SUV craze has been 30 years in the making....and BMW is amongst the first to creat this crossover segment thing...especially the sporty SAV crossover thing....with the X5...and then a new niche with the X6... So...while BMW is continuing refining this SAV niche thing...they are negelcting the Ultimate Driving niche thing...and although the 3/4 Series is not hurting...mainly because the X1 and X3 are butt ugly...the X5/X6 are supermodels...and the marketing is top notch...so....the 5/6 Series is suffering... Let me put it this way...BMW focuses on SAVs...makes a fantastic marketing campaign with the new term SAV...Sports Activity Vehicle....while neglecting Ultimate Driving Machine mantra...sooo...20 years after the intro of X5 and X6....comes wild success with crossovers....at the expense of the the butt ugly and less appealing, crappier handling duo of 5/6 Series... Its ironic to me that quite possibly....the X5/X6 ride better and handle much nicer that the 5/6 Series....plus newer... So....where is the surprise? And this may be a glimpse of things to come...and not only with BMW...but perhaps with Mercedes Benz too...
  3. I wouldnt even call it self-restricted. Cadillac cars need not be in every drive-way. First of all...that cheapens an image, especially if Cadillac chases niches that at premium levels. A sub-ATS vehicle...unless sold at $80 000, is a premium level car. Cadillac needs to be at top tier 1...you know...Rolls Royce territory. Like Balthazar said, Cadillac is part of the GM umbrella where Buick fills those shoes quite nicely. M-B has the curse to be everything to everybody BMW chooses this route also. They both have realized this curse....that is why M-B started the Smart brand...and that is why BMW bought Mini and are trying to expand the Mini brand so they dont have to dilute the BMW too much... But...some choices they make...with BMW and the 5 Series GT and M-B with the B series and CLA...is just pure greed...worse than what Cadillac has been accused of with the Cimarron...
  4. People, people, people... We are arguing about cars that existed 30 years ago... The Cimarron...it was a colossal mistake. Not that the car itself was bad...because the J Platform was really not as bad as people made it out to be...but the execution was horrid... Now..how many wished that Cadillac would have badge engineered these two instead of the sedan?
  5. Maybe Cadillac owners have lots of money and don't care. LOL!!!
  6. When the merger of equals happened, and M-B decided to make the sprinter into a Dodge, I would see several "Dodge" Sprinters around in the Montreal area. But now after the fact......I am very thankful that I dont see either the Dodge version or the M-B version. Yup...the original M-B version in Montreal is a dud... So I dont get to see the rusted mess you are talking about. I see plenty Ford Transit Connects and thankfully, and how it should be...the Chevy/GMC vans are going on strong here. Although GM has stopped making those too? Partnership with Nissan for their stuoid looking Euro style van? I honestly dont understand why the wave with Euro Style vans? Anyway...yeah...M-B....in order to make money...if they continue to saturate the market with mediocre mainstream stuff, they will eventually cheapen their high class image...
  7. This was such a sexy concept when it first came out. It still is. The profile of this car is sick!!! I just hope Lexus keeps the sleekness of it. And the predator face grill....I hate it...but not on this car... All the lines and creases that lead into the grill flow so nicely and coherently...and the same happens in the back. What a beautifully designed car this is. I hope Lexus keeps the production model as is, I might actually buy one. If an Oldsmobile 442 was the gentleman's Hot Rod, then this is the gentleman's sports car. OK...maybe Aston Martin holds that title...I dont care....this gentleman wishes that this car is in his driveway one day.
  8. Did someone mention the Mosler El Dorado? EDIT: I SEE THAT YOU BEAT ME TO IT BY 1 MINUTE!!!
  9. An ignorant person could say that, sure, but YOU said it because you're Wings and you can't say anything about GM without a passive aggressive comment or thinly veiled criticism. It's why you don't get banned, yet still have -40 reputation points accrued in a month. really? REALLY???? All I did was make a simple shocked statement on price. All the rest is dust and nonsense for which you have contributed twice now. As for my negative points, a mod confirmed that nearly all of them are from one person who adores me so much that he makes sure you subtracts in every one of my posts, regardless. I will try to move on with my life though. This^^^ This is the reason why U get on my *** nerves.. U thin for some reason I got these guys over here away from MT to help in your ever continuing need for free online psychotherapy. No one really gives a $h! about your opinion in these threads.. because for 1) U are biased as a muthf**ka. I'm talking even more than me in that U ignore the reality of things and live in some crazy world where white is black and black is rainbow. 2) have no interest in these types of cars.. RWD, non-turbo V6 or 4cylinder, or luxury because.. well.. U're a Ford fan. 3) are just a GM hater.. despite them putting food on your ***king table and sending U to school 3) First of all...Hi there Wings. I decided to quote Casa...because...well...CP had an answer for you..and so does Casa...and because this: "This post is hidden because you have chosen to ignore posts by Wings4Life. View it anyway?" Its hard to just ignore and zoom past your stupidity when so many quote you...I saw this in your post and decided to answer you back... "As for my negative points, a mod confirmed that nearly all of them are from one person who adores me so much that he makes sure you subtracts in every one of my posts, regardless. I will try to move on with my life though." You dummy.... 1. you have about 40 negative posts...I did about 15...that would still leave you with 25 negatives....but wait...you said that the mods actually up voted my negatives...that negates my 15 negative votes...you idiot...you still have -40... Oh....this is the PM you gave me at Motor Trend...this was posted on June 23 @9:06 AM WingsFan4Life User | Posts: 238 | Joined: 05/15 Posted: 06/23/15 09:06 AM In case you did not know, all your negative votes at C&G forum do nothing other than add up. They are designed to deal with spammers, and when a significant amount adds up, merely hides the post that got all the votes. The mods are alerted to your actions and can see every single one of them, and then vote them back up to counter. How childish btw. So either knock it off, or I will continue to draw attention to your BS. Oh, and welcome to my ignore list. You still accumulated more negative votes....FYI....those were not from me...like I said...I just gave you about 15-18 of them....well now...you have 5 more...because not only your posts are stupid regarding your "yikes" comment and then trying to act innocent by playing your famous victim card......but because you have involved me when you said you were gonna ignore me... It shows you are a Greek born in Greece...Greeks in Greece love to play soccer....and soccer players are all FAKERS!!! Us Canadian boys and American boys...even if we have a Greek backround...like I for instance...we man up...we play with broken bones...hockey players and Football players do... You say you like the Detroit Red Wings? Well....they suck!!! Just like YOU!!!
  10. I get that way on the months where we don't have an extended weekend for a holiday or something. It is amazing what a 3 day weekend will do mentally. Not just the time off but just having something to look forward to that isn't the same. For instance, this weekend. I'm so stoked for it..yet I have nothing planned or anything.. just won't be working. lol My day job has been taking advantage of me for a couple years now and I am so pinned down by them I don't have much time or energy to make a change. I understand, jobs can have a creeping oppression over us. Very very much so.. Same thing with this post. You are always working, slavin' every day...and you need a break from the same 'ol same 'ol...and you need a chance just to get away...and you need nothin' but a good time... I suggest you take a couple of days off!!! Like good 'ol Huey right here... And if that dont work...tell your bosses to take his job and SHOVE IT!!! (Dont actually do the last thing...that wont be too good)
  11. I have that thought every week or so. When times were rough and money was tight, I used to love the notion of giving up everything and starting over somewhere in the midwest. Maybe chase tornadoes (apparently I'm a closet lunatic). For years, I was in a rut just waiting for life plans to pay off. It was mentally exhausting going from college graduation at the peak of the recession to grinding out debt, living paycheck to paycheck, and sticking out a long distance relationship. If you guys don't have a good reason to be in a rut, maybe it's time to shake things up. I wanted to contribute somehow in helping you guys out. But I have no clue how. Ill just do what I do best and post videos. Songs. I think this song sums up quite nicely what CP is trying to say. Ill just add this...you might want to sing it note for note...
  12. Thanx. 'And although Im Canadian and it is Canada Day today...yeah... 'Merica!!!
  13. Seeing as its Canada Day today...Hooray for CANADA!!! (that would be 2 more emoticons used from the library) OK...there is no need to derail this any further... My thoughts on Toyota's performance BOOOO!!!!!!
  14. Sure...and maybe by 2017...a power bump and possibly a mild refresh to keep things current. Id wait until 2017 to buy one...sure I dont get to flaunt Hell at my fingertips...like NOW...but its well worth the wait money wise. "Good things come to those who wait" I believe is the saying. Especially for my pockets... On the other hand...707 HP and 650 ft/lbs torque and driving it NOW is well worth the price of admission...because you own the Hellcat...NOW!!! You dont have to wait 2 years to experience...HELL...What a ride that is I bet!!! If you really wants this car...and you see this video...and there are other videos that are much better than this one...honestly...could you actually wait 2 years to own one? I know if I had the money and space...and the weather to cooperate with me...I wouldnt want to wait 2 years....I WOULD WANT THIS CAR....LIKE...YESTERDAY!!! I know I contradicted myself in this post regarding the timeline of waiting to own this machine...I honesty would be amongst the first to buy the Challenger Hellcat had I had the money and not lived in Montreal...weather and gas prices...so yeah...Id be one of those fools to pay the premium for one...however...Id be a very happy fool...and possibly a dead one...or at the very least...divorced with no legal drivers license from all the speeding tickets and demerit points Id inherit with this car. If I had Jay Leno money with a Jay Leno car garage...Id make myself a spot for a few cars...Id name that spot...Hades Corner...and I would spotlight all the Devil themed cars... Challenger and Charger Hellcat Lamborghini El Diablo 1958 Plymouth Fury....several different vintage Furys actually 1970 Dodge Demon 2009 Corvette ZR-1 (Blue Devil), etc...
  15. That is soooooooooo false!!! Not to take away from your post in sympathizing for the loss of Thed's dog, but... 1. Your mom. A mother (usually) will ALWAYS love their children no matter what. A mother's love is not measurable. 2. Your dad. OK...there are some dads...deadbeat dads...but....usually...a dad's love is not measurable. 3. Your children. Your children, no matter what...unless you are a deadbeat dad or deadbeat mom...will ALWAYS look up to you...you...as a parent to your children...are a God to them...your children will ALWAYS love you...your child's love to you is not measurable... So...sure...a pet like a dig or cat or horse....will always love their master...but that is the key word right there...master... Mother's love, Father's love, child's love...unconditional love is the the ultimate...and because you have missed that...I dont know if Im opening up a pandora's box with you...
  16. ^^^ Yup...it is odd...that is why I mentioned my oh sooooo great height that I have... Also...if the salesman did his job properly that day, Id be driving a 2012 VW CC R-Line 2.0T as we speak instead of the Acura TL as I was hooked on the car. (The 2013s were on their way in...actually, the CC that I test drove was his last 2012...it was a R-Line...and the 2013s were gonna be shipped later that week or so...) Except the idiot was harping on the fact that I have children and kept pushing the Passat on me...and I did not want the Passat...too stale...I WANTED the CC...I LUSTED after the CC... Its hard for a salesman to "close" me as I KNOW what I want and I rarely get influenced by emotions when I buy a car...actually...I have to LUST over a car in order for me to buy it in the first place so that statement I made is not entirely correct...however, on that particular day I was test driving the CC, if he used his special magical salesman powers on me...he would have had a sale that day....for the CC...not the Passat...because like I said...if he took a notice how my emotions were on the CC, he would have seen a very vulnerably fellow...but alas...my better judgement finally won out and I resisted to buy...because he kept on pushing Passat...Anyway...I left for vacation with my family later that month and when we came back shortly thereafter...I test drove the Buick Regal and the Acura TL....the TL SH-AWD won out...
  17. Yup CP... Your post summarizes other reasons why I feel the CC is long in the tooth.
  18. Thed: τα συλλυπητήριά μου. Translation. My condolences. Jack is in Greek doggy heaven. Unlike this guy...this guy guards the gates of Hades. His name is Cerberus. I think Hades was the first to put up a sign like this one in front of his home...
  19. The CC is a 4 door coupe in the same vein as the M-B CLS is and the Audi A7, on a smaller package. The rear space is tight and if you are a tall person, you will have a hard time getting in the back as the roof line slopes real fast to provide that 4 door coupe silhouette. the first and second year of its production, the back seats were bucket style. In 2012 VW started offering bench seats for the back. And by reading the article...I am to understand that VW has deleted the bucket seat arrangement all together. Mr. William finds the leg room to be sufficient...I on the other hand, when I was looking to buy a VW CC in 2012, I was not satisfied with the leg room. And I am 5'6" tall. I really really LOVED the CC in 2012, I found it to be very well built, with premium levels of quality. I found the CC to be at a Premium car level. I also found the Buick Regal to be equally the same. All positives and negatives are the same between the Regal and CC. I bought a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD instead. Primarily because the back space is much much more in line as a family car. I find the CC to be a car for the single executive who does not want a BMW 3 Series coupe....or sedan and does not want to compromise with a 1 Series Bimmer either. The CC is/was a very nice alternative. In my opinion, the CC is now long in the tooth. I am awaiting for its replacement. This is what VW proposed not too long ago...and this is the reason why I thing the current CC is long in the tooth
  20. 1994 or 1995... I gave my dad $5000 and he matched it and we financed and bought together a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am GT 4 door after I totaled my 1989 Firebird and his 1986 Celebrity...why I mention that? Its because I remember liking that Audi A4 in 1994...or it could have been 1995. Whatever. But yeah...
  21. Yeah...Im most liking this reversal of weight in vehicles too.
  22. http://www.imsa.com/sites/default/files/race_result_files/2015_TUSC_WGI_ProvisionalResults.pdf I believe that is correct. I remember the top three and they are the same as that list so hopefully it is correct. thanx.
  23. How did the Corvettes do? Both the Tudor Series Vettes and the C7-R Vettes...
  24. Its still a handsome car never-the-less. At least some of the mechanicals were upgraded and improved. It will continue to sell. If it aint broke dont fix it approach to the exterior design has been working out for the A4...since its introduction in 1994...like I said...it is what it is.
  25. As far as the new look is concerned. IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!
