restomodding and pro-touring could go many different ways... If I was doing a 1980s G-Body from GM....other than a numbers matchiung GNX that Id keep stock...I would NEVER go higher than a modern 5.3 liter V8 from GM ... Id probably do 300 horse 3.6 liter V6 ... A 3rd generation F-Body? Hell..because those arent exactly classics yet...other than maybe a 1989 Turbo Trans Am...Id even tinker with the idea of a 2.0T... When classic muscle is concerned though from the 1960s and early 1970s....pro-touring resto-modded LSx motors would be the way Id go... No...not Novas...those would be 2.0Ts and TTV6 3.6liters...Im talking about faux GTos and 442s and Chevelles and Impala SS...

So...if Tesla wont benefit the consumer...what advantages are there for Tesla....if I cant haggle the price and save me some money...Ill still buy a Porsche EV or a Chevy Volt...where that business modle helps me...and that business model clearly helps the old guard... Guys...YOU CANT HAVE IT BOITH WAYS!!!! Either Tesla's way is NOT advantageous or it is....pick one and go with that...dont flip flop... But it seems to me ya'll afraid of change or afraid of Tesla or just plain evil...you folk WAQNT to join the Drak Side.... Tesla Increases Lobbying Efforts To Break Into Michigan
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
@ Wings... advantageous..... So we punish and become a Commie state because Michigan laws and the big Detroit 3 are antiquitated Becaue Tesla is a brand new company that does not want to be burdened and shackled with a flawed business model...so we continue on with a middle ages approach... I can see clearly now...Michigan State laws are ISIS and ISIL... LMFAO!!!- 196 replies

Tesla Increases Lobbying Efforts To Break Into Michigan
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
Fairness...by not allowing a legal business to do....business...in a very capitalistic way...by cutting out the middleman...in a very free market country... HA! Wings....trying to control the market by favouring one way over another is very contradictory to what your country stands for...in fact...many Americans have died defending this particular way and the so called freedoms it carries....during WW2 and Korea and especially in Viet Nam... Americans have painted other Americans during the 1950s as Commies...that was known as McCarthyism.... Americans love to hate socialists....and make fun of Canada for this very reason that Michigan is denying Tesla... So.....how is selling to the public outright unfair? I thought 'twas necessary for a car maker to have a dealership because of all that inventory they need to have in a showroom....if anything...Tesla is at a disadvantage with this kinda business model... OK....it is not a disadvantaged...rather an advantage...because that is what YOU are saying.... OK...that means that dealerships only screw the customer...so why should I feel for the old guard again? OK....that is not the reason you say? What is this disadvantage you talk about? Is it because the old guard is an antiquated way of doing business because THAT is what YOU are implying.... So...why should a car company NOT break the mold and MODERNIZE the business model? The old guard cant have it both ways.... They cant continue with a very dated way of doing business and they cant stop progress...- 196 replies

I got confused with my miles and my kilometers when I originally wrote this post. 310 miles is more than Tesla's 265....I think there is a Model S with 320 miles? Anyhoo, battery development is improving...and yes...its a sexy car this Porsche. ...

If that is the case....Id rather the horse and buggy. A lttle watermelon and she goes a long way....no GPS needed as a horse knows where you are going and remembers where you have been. You want zero emissions...you got it!!! Other than a few farts and tarts, pretty clean...OK....dung on the roads was a problem....we could just call it fertilizer... Autonomous driving? Hey..its the original... Speed kills? Not with horses....horses know to avoid other horses... Your wife leaves you? You got your trusted Clydesdale by your side... Horse and buggy above all else... And guys...I aint kidding around... Why would I want a logo of a prancing horse on the hood of my car when I could have a real prancing horse... The only problem I foresee with all that is that I like power of 300 horses as opposed to...1

Tesla Increases Lobbying Efforts To Break Into Michigan

Jaguar, Land Rover and Mini are pulling out from Detroit too... (I cant post links with my tablet, but I assure you, it is for realz what Im sayin') One could have the same assumption of Tesla going down the road of irrelevance along with Mini and quite possible Jaguar by pulling outta Detroit....but when Land Rover is also amongst that list, and Ive also heard rumours that other biggish names also question their presence in Detroit, it leads ME to believe that 'tis the Detroit auto show that is one step in the direction of irrelevance.... And Im sure many others feel the same way about Detroit' auto show and how Detroit may not be as important as it once used to be...so....Im sure Tesla is just fine in skipping Detroit...- 196 replies

You see. Henri Ford was arrogant too... They could have any colour they want, so long that its black.... He didnt really say that in that context, but he was an arrogant business man just the same... GM....was pretty darned arrogant by the time the 1970s rolled on by....and by the 1980s and 1990...more arrogant than Toyota will ever be... Its nice to pick and choose who we hate, but at least, let us be consistent with our hatred... Good and evil....it depends in what point of view you are looking at... In my opinion, its the Jedi that are evil as once said by Annakin just before he turned to the dark side...

BMW News: BMW Is Close To Making A Final Decision on the i5
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
When I saw my first i3, I was speechless. I was shocked. I was like a deer caught in a headlight. I did not know what to think. When I saw the same i3 24 hours later, I decided to like it. That was a year ago. I saw one the other day, it was different one from the one last year, I now have decided that I dont like it too much. You could say I hate it. I think I saw an i8 in Old Montreal last summer. Or maybe it was a dream I had that I seen one in Old Montreal, I cant really remember which is it...it mustnhave been a dream as I would have probably made a "Would You Rather" thread over at MT... That goes to show you how much I like BMW when a super sexy Bimmer (because the i8 is truly a nice car) does not rock my world enougj for me to care about it or even remember it... However, a M6 Grand Coupe is one Bimmer I have started drooling over big time ever since I saw an all black 6 Series during this aforementioned past summer.. -
Ill be honest, Im infatuated with Tesla as we speak. My partner ordered a red Model S P85D a few weeks back and I think he will be getting it on Monday... Im so excited for him, I may have made him into a car guy. He even chose it red. Also, If I was buying a SEDAN in the 100 000 dollar (Canadian) range, there are not many cars that I lust for in that price range...its funny huh? I like a CTS-V, but its too boy racer.... I prefer the CTS-V sport, but no V8... We skip M-B all together, as with BMW and Audi...but wait... There is the M-B 63 CLS AMG and the BMW M6 Grand Coupe that I really really LOVE. We add the Charger Hellcat to the list of three. The 4rth would be the Model S P90 or P85D... So, it may look like Im a tad zealous in defending Tesla, but in reality, its because Tesla has done a fantastic job with the Model S that I find it hard to swallow the amount of hatred surrounding it.... Let us remember that the Model S really is a first for Tesla concerning car manufacturing. The roadster is just an engine swap type deal... Id say that Tesla pretty much got it right the first time around...is it a perfect car? Nope. its not. But in the 130 year history of the automobile, has there been a 100% perfect and flawless car ever produced? There have been cars that may have come close to that perfection, but there have been many many failures, and yet, we seem to diss on a game changer... because we dont like the status quo being challenged... Because that is how I see this hatred with Tesla...
-
Blu...we get it...you hate Tesla...but dude...WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, TESLA IS THE CAR COMPANY THAT IS THE MEASURE...THE BENCHMARK IF YOU WILL...OF ALL CARS ELECTRIC... The reason why Tesla is mentioned in a Bolt tnread, its because Tesla sells MORE EVs than GM...and Tesla is said to be having a low priced EV in the works, in the Volts and Bolts price range, and since Tesal sells more electrics than GM...its only logical that Tesla is mentioned... (you lucky Im on my stupid tablet...because this is where Id be -postin' a 'DEAL WITH IT' gif) I really dont get this obsessive hatred one has for a car company...its as annoying as blind fanboyism...only in reverse... Sure, I dont like BMW all that much...I do give the devil its due with BMW....therefore, this really perplexes me... HELP ME OB1 KENOBI, YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE!!!

I do very much prefer the Volt. In my neighborhood, Iv already spotted a dozen of them. Id say Chevy will have a huuuuge success on their. hands with the Volt The 2nd gen Volt is a looker. I don't really like the Bolt's looks, but then again, I dont really like small cars to begin with. If I was honest about it, Id say the Bolt looks as good as any sub compact out there... And if I was honest about the Bolt, seeing as how the 1st generartion Volt was a success, and seeing as how the 2nd generation Volt is on its way to greatness itself, Id say the Bolt will have its fair share of fans too...and if I was honest about this whole thing with Tesla, Id say that Tesla has its hands full with GM... I dont think Porsche or BMW or even Mercedes Benz will give Tesla a hard time...the Model S has made its name and people look to it.... Where I see a problem for Tesla is at the bottom end of the price range. I see Chevrolet dominating the loyalty with the electrics in the low price tag range as opposed to what Telsa has done with the high end. Chevrolet has done a very nice job with both generations of Volt and will only strengthen that loyalty with the Bolt. Chevrolet has managed to put a kink in Prius... And I see Audi with that Electric SUV of theirs putting down the hurt on Tesla in the SUV department. The Model X might have 30 000 units on reserve, but it looks awkward, the Audi looks sexy and sublime....much like the Model S... The Fisker Karma in my honest opinion is the sexiest electric car...hell, its the sexiest automobile in whatever motor vehicle category you want to put it in since the 2000s, OK, even further, since the 1990s...80s... The BMW i8 is also very sexy...but its coupe....the Model S is a sedan....coupes dont sell well since the 1990s... M-Bs are a hit or a miss... The Porsche looks good, but its coming out in 2020...Im pretty sure the Model S will get a refresh by then...

To be fair, it really is not crying over spilled milk more than it being sentencing Socrates to drink Hemlock because he was 'corrupting young minds'... You do know what Socrates said in his final speech dont you? Anyhoo, hopefully Telsa does not share the same fate as Socrates, however, Isee the same zealousness as with those Athenians as with these Michiganders...- 196 replies

Hello. Old skool is always cool.

Nope...im trying to find a way to even post a youtube link, and this tablet does not have the right power... The tablet must not be a Jedi Knight, must be Jar Jar Binks.... Oh well, when I get my laptop back, Ill be sure to post Sheena Easton's Sugar Walls. Why? Well, I finally got to revisit those walls of sugar that belong to my wife recently, I just remembered one of the reasons why I love her. The other reason is she cooks real good. Come to think of it, she cooks real good in the bedroom too...

Yup...like Ahnold...Im Back! Id post a gif of some sorts with the Governator saying that, but my tablet wont let me post links in this site for some reason. I spilled water on my laptop 2-3 weeks ago and Staples, or Bureau En Gros as its known up here in French Territory formely known as Lower Canada, has a hard time replacing the keyboard. Difficulty with parts they have. Same suppliers as Tesla they must be. Turned to the dark side they are. Like Elon Musk once did. Oh please Master Yoda, save us from the evil Empire that is Staples and from Lord Elon.... I stopped posting not only for laptop woes, as I could have done it with this stupid tablet, leave of absence to reset my thought process was necessary. Anyhoo....glad to be back. Glad I was missed by a couple of fellow Canucks.

Im wrong then. Meh...it happens from time to time. Not often though. Germany is a beautiful country. All of Europe actually is beautiful. The people...the people of Germany are great. Politics tends to get in the way. Same everywhere in the rest of the word. OK...back to VW... There was an article where Mercedes boss Dr. Deiter Zetsche called VW's scandal a blow to Germany's brand of Made in Germany to be tarnished. http://www.autoblog.com/2015/11/06/daimler-zetsche-says-vw-scandal-dings-made-germany-brand/ Even if no other German brand was cheating, I wonder if his accusation holds some truth to it.

Im sorry Drew. Im being a douche bag. Im assuming you are of German ancestry...actually I have come to a well calculated conclusion that you ARE of German ancestry and I continually bash Germany with this VW scandal...and I just took a very nasty pot shot towards Germany on a day like today. So...Id like to apologize for that. I dont mean anything by it. Not towards you, nor MODERN Germany. I respect you a lot, for the little internet knowledge I know about you and I otherwise LOVE Germany in its place in the world and its history. There are many things I dont like about Germany's past regarding Greece, 1940s or 2010s...but I also undersand the circumstances behind those actions... OK...point being...I dont have anything against Germany regarding VW....this is soley on VW's stupid CEOs...I just like to have some fun with it. So...just disregard any dumb message I do about Germany and VW and WW1 or WW2 and this VW EPA emissions scandal.

They have a WITNESS AND A NAME and the cops wont pursue it?!?! What the everloving f@#k!! Yep, and me and the witness both went to file the report at the station. Irks me to say the least. All he could say was "at least it is just an old truck". Nope...that cop, sheriff perhaps...is just too lazy to do his job. Take it to a higher authority or go OVER his authority somehow...because that is a hit and run causing physical damage...and If Im not mistaken...a hit and run is a CRIMINAL offense ANYWHERE in the world. I know for a fact its a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment at the most extreme cases in Quebec... but still garners a criminal record even if just a fine is applied...and Im 90% certain it is the same elsewhere on the planet...
