Nice car but I am bored with the Camaro and it is not out yet. It was shown to early and it was in a summer blockbuster that millions saw. So I am over it. But I have to say, I appauld GM for thinking out of the box with the interior. I am glad that simply didn't slap the Camaro with part bin crap and call it day.

The bottom line is the Accord might not be most attractive but it is rock solid and very profitable. GM should be so lucky!!!
-
That Canyon looks so very old and tired. GM can't replace this vehicle fast enough. GMC purpose and is suppose to be "Professional Grade" but this Canyon is no Professional and it's gets a failing Grade!!
-
Well, the Vibe serves it's purpose. It's cheap, good on gas and won't burn anyones eyes. So the bottom line is Pontiac has 3 vehicles on its lot that can get people into the showrooms, Solstice, Vibe & G8. All the others will make folks gag!!!!

GM @ SEMA: Chevrolet Tahoe Street Tuner with DUB D22 Wheels
drew770 replied to Chris_Doane's topic in S.E.M.A
This Tuner Tahoe is just as boring as the regular Tahoe. Could a vehicle be anymore dull? -
I really wonder if Business Week, Newsweek, CNBC and the others that seems to love Toyota's dirty underwear admit to Toyota's growing quality problem. For all the bitching and complaining about the domestic automakers it's nice to see that the mighty Toyota has problems too!!

Gees, I am glad GM woke up and realized that they need to get up to speed and match BMW, Mercedes and Lexus!!!

The question is how much modifications will be made to the exterior and interior before production starts?? There is no way GM will release the Volt as is. From the look of this concept, there is not enough shared parts to keep costs down. Plus, we all know how GM tends to really water down concepts to production.

I am tired of waiting until the next generation anything for GM!!! EpI wasn't a bad platform but GM just screwed it up. This current Malibu should be a technological match for the Camry. I know the Accord & the Mazda 6 was being designed at the same time so it hard to match something you don't know about. But, if the Camry offers it then this Malibu should offer it. The exterior looks good enough to carry the day but the interior still comes up short on attention to details. The amount of cut lines and the square plug in radio is not acceptable!! Plus, not offering some pretty basic options for this segment will again make the Malibu a non-player in the hotly contested midsized segment.

Why did Chevy get the vehicle as Saturn, GMC & Buick???? In the hierarchy of things the cheap version should be Saturn. Now, Chevy squeezes in and shifts Saturn to no purpose what so ever!!! They should have given Chevy a true minivan!!!

2008 Malibu at the Georgian College Autoshow
drew770 replied to Polish_Kris's topic in Other Auto Shows
The exterior is nothing to write home about but it is not ugly. But, this interior is craptastic!!!! The lowly Sonata doesn't have as many cut lines and the door panel screams Rubbermaid!!! What the hell was GM thinking? Okay, I have a prediction. Car & Driver, Motor Trend & Road & Track will do the best of the mid-size cars and the Malibu will not be in the top 5. -
Who in the hell posted such lies!!!! You all know damn well that Toyota makes the most perfect autos in the business. And how dare you throw shi_ on Toyota!!! Just because while I was driving my Tundra it unexpectedly accelerated and hit a group of nuns that doesn't mean there is something wrong. My truck just might not like Catholics. Plus, while I was driving along Pacific Highway, my truck bed flew up in the air and landed on a group of French tourist that doesn't mean the truck is defective. My truck just don't like those snotty French folks!!! All of you just wish you had the pleasure of owning a such a perfect vehicle. Everytime I sit in my Tundra I flex my butt cheeks twice because it is so smooth!!! Don't be haters!!!

Chrysler always has the most innovative minivans but this new generation sure is ugly. While the interior is very easy going the miles of plastic is unseemly. But as unattractive as I feel they are I hope they continue to beat the pants off of Toyota and Honda!
-
I am sure no one will hear of this because GM has the worst advertising in the world!!! This is a great accomplishment and GM could really force the issue of safety to bet back Toyota. But all we get is commericals that show a truck driving through the woods rolling over rocks and logs!!!
-
No time soon!!It seems that GM is slowly but surely abandoning the small truck market just like minivans.
-
They all look good and the thing that is most exciting is GM wants to put a different instrument cluster in the different brands. My goodness, no more one instrument cluster fits all and the same for the dash. I am glad to see that GM is really trying to put an emphasis on how the interior looks and feel. It's about time.

The Vibe is good for it's purpose. No harm no foul.
-
Finally someone is making sense!!! What is with this walk down memory lane? The market has moved beyond Buick and to some degree Pontiac. Everyone wants GM to just put money into Buick and it will be okay. Well, money is in short supply and whatever money GM has needs to go to the Core Brands!!!! Chevy and Caddy are the core brands so the bulk of resources should go to them.

I don't have to drive one to know it is a sales disappointment. The Aura is selling slower than the L200/300 that it replaced. So I don't think having enough dealers is that much of an issue. Don't get me wrong, I am a true fan of Saturn but if GM wanted to take it upscale than GM should have did it right. The Aura will be a direct competitor to the Malibu. What was GM's goal with the Aura? There was talk of the Aura taking on TSX, Passat and other upscale makes but GM didn't push the Aura in that direction. What it did was push it right onto the Malibu's toes.
-
Apparently, GM still hasn't decided what to do with the Aura. It was supposed to be some type of upscale European flavored sedan but all it has turned out to be was a flop. If GM would have put Bluetooth, Nav and other technological goodies then it could have been what GM wanted. But, we got a watered down version of the concept. It seems to me that GM is now sliding the Aura downscale, where it will compete with the new Malibu and G6. It would have been great for GM to position the Aura to go head to head with Passat. But the Aura is lacking so many options that they would be embarassed. For example: Passat offers Adaptive Front Lighting, Bi-Xenon headlights, LED taillights, rain sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles. Ooh I forgot, Aura has Onstar!!

I know it is an oxymoron but I am wondering if GM is trying to figure out how to improve fuel efficiency in these Hummers. Don't get me wrong, Hummers serve a specific purpose for GM, but the tide is turning away from these types of vehicles. Hummers are the poster child for crappy fuel ecomony and with oil hitting an all time high of $78.00 a barrel, I hope GM has something up its selves.
-
Well, IMO the GMC Canyon is the real turd of the GMC group. With it's 90s exterior styling and it's craptastic interior, the Canyon is a product of GM of yore!! If GMC suppose to be "Professional Grade" and upscale from Chevy, then the Canyon needs alot of work. There is still a place in it's lineup for a small truck but it must fit into the GMC purpose theme. Professional Grade!!!
-
But again the question is why would GM want Americans to go online and vote for their favorite Triplet? If the car was going to be sold in Europe or Asia shouldn't GM have advertised the voting overseas. Lutz is not a fan of small cars so he gives every excuse in the world not to produce them for the NA market!!!
-
I wonder if GM will let Saab release such a vehicle. Plus, if they do, how long will we have to wait for it. 2013? It's a unique and interesting design that I hope GM greenlights into production as soon as possible.
-
I would hope that GM would have used any development money on the Triplets. Big BOF SUVs are not what GM needs to focus on anyway. Chevy has to shift it's spotlight to passenger cars and light crossovers. I know there is still a need for these types of vehicles but there is a much faster demand for afforable fuel friendly passenger cars.
